I was paying close attention to game releases at the time and I had never heard of it. I lucked out by happening upon it at a Fry's Electronics. I bought it solely based on the box. This was one of the rare times buying based on the box actually worked out. I believe this game could do well with an HD port to every console and PC if they bother to advertise. From Soft didn't make the game but their name has a whole new meaning today. Slap that name on the box and watch it fly off shelves today.
The game was very good, too bad for the Japanese sales but the mistake they made was to leave it exclusive for PS3 and they should have released it for XBOX 360 where at that time there were more players. The game deserves a second chance and this time it should be released multiplatform, it has many winks and references to many titles in the history of gaming. I enjoyed this game I replayed it 5 times and with my characters created in the editor, difficulty appeared to me very acceptable and also as a veteran player of The Legend Of Zelda, this title should come to Switch to reach more players and there where is the players of this genre.
Zelda is my favorite series of games with the original NES title holding the most nostalgia for me. I'm fully aware that i'm in the minority but i'm not a fan of the direction they took with Breath of the Wild or Tears of the Kingdom so I finally found a copy of this game recently and just finished it. It was exactly what I was looking for and feels far more like Zelda than Zelda does now. It's a shame there's not a digital version that's more widely available because it really is a gem that's full of charm.
if there is a Time now I think it would be now! I never finished it but I would be Streaming it if it was on PS4 or PS5 asking for Advice and looking up Help for the Game!
This was a game that weirdly like couldn't get over itself. It has this awesome core of a puzzle dungeon crawler, and a neat art style. But instead of just being a good game on its own, CONSTANTLY reminds you of those facts. It can't say "hey, you should solve this cool puzzle" it has to say "doesn't this dungeon remind you so much of Legend of Zelda?" Instead of saying "hey, check out this great enemy/environment design (yeah, it was made in a voxel editor to save budget, but it's still trying to represent a real thing)", 3DDGH has to be like "hey, let's literally call the kingdom Dotnia!". The comparison might be something like TUNIC. TUNIC is Zelda-inspired and it has a low-poly world, but is its own game. It has its own plot, its own world, its own identity. You can get lost in playing TUNIC for TUNIC, even if you never played LoZ, and forget all about low-poly faceted geometry, and just enjoy what's there. 3DDGH never lets you do that. It can never be better than Zelda, or different than Zelda; it can never appeal to someone who's never played an old-school LoZ game; all it can ever be is a reference. Or else, Undertale. Undertale is inspired by Earthbound, but lots of people who've never played or even heard of Earthbound found joy in Undertale. Nobody who never played LoZ found joy in 3DDGH.
How are people supposed to enjoy this game in the modern day? Nobody should have to fork over more than 50 dollars to play a game! If it's DLC that's one thing, but this was another!
@@MaoRatto you realize if this was re released now more than likely it would be $40+. So there is no difference in that and buying a ps3 copy. Just get a ps3 and buy this. And are you really saying paying that much for a DLC is ok tho?
I think it's the best time to re release it, now when many people are disappointed by AAA and want something unusual.
Agreed. I've been playing mostly Zelda 1 Randomized over any of the triple AAA games I have. Sometimes, I just want some simplicity.

Good stuff. I remember this game.
Still waiting to play this on steam one day.
i wish i can have the game so i can finally say hey all scott here during the breakout minigame
We better get a remaster of Breakout when the game gets re-released
yeah got my copy for 10 euros years ago it was the last one in the store I felt so lucky cause i couldnt find that game anywhere months prior
Sure, most of people knows this by the Break Out theme... I can guess from where...
from the man who owns sonic 2 with a line
I think there is 100% a better market for this kind of game in 2024 than there was back in 2009. Nostalgia gaming is bigger than ever

I would love for them to do a re-release or remaster for this game.
Fun fact!
From Software, the company who published Elden Ring, has the publishing rights for this in japan.
This video answered the exact question I wanted answered, thank you.
I hope this gets a rerelease it has become prohibitively expensive these days. I actually imported Japanese copy because it’s so expensive.
Yes, it would be good to get it back. My older brother has a copy and lend it to me a few years back.

definitely think itd be a perfect fit for the switch
Could someone Unity port this? The game data looks really straightforward.

I really love this game. It was zelda on ps3. Fun game!
Can you play it on a steam deck?
Just bought it for 60 dollars since it reminds me of Alundra.
Good Video. Can I download this game on the ps3?
It was a disc-only title.

Doesn't need a re-release. Not everything needs to be re released or remade or remastered etc.
