Then some years later, on two occasions during the Shining Rose incident and Ceasefire agreement, Nagas had to flee to the hills after Meiteis started becoming aggressive in the valley.

Anglo Kuki incident is replete with raids and murders of Naga and Meitei villages in Manipur by the Kukis, mostly of the Naga villages. Several Nagas were murdered in cold blood, their villages burned and women raped and killed. That incident was neither a war nor a rebellion against the British, more like a Naga genocide.
