Never been very good at doing snelled hooks but after seeing this vid and giving it a go, I amazed myself with the ease of this approach - ended up prepping half a dozen rigs for my little trip in a few days time - Thanks for the easy and very helpful explainer vid (got yourself a new sub!)
Question... Do you reply to comments? You put out a very helpful video... Some/many, still like to ask questions and get some positive/helpful feedback! Many questions ask in the comments, but no reply! Cheers cobber/digger/pal. ps...Hopefully you're in good health! Tight lines.
I lost a decent fish on a 4 turn Uni. I was using some 80lb fluorocarbon it was a bit hard to wrap so I just thought fuck it 4 will do, it pulled down tight I didn't see any reason it would let go but it did. Sat me on my ass haha. If yr using flurocarbon id recommend 5 wrap uni. Good video bro.
Hi mate, I usually use double smelled hooks for full pilchard or squid. Does it mean that I need an extra hook just to connect the imp clip? Otherwise, how would I connect it with the bait in place? Thanks
I agree Cheap rod cheap reel with a quality mono line and quality single hook get better results then an extensive, complicated and expensive range of tackle
My wife caught a mulloway on a 3way swivel with a star sinker and 2/0 hook on 25 pound mono leader. Uni knots only. You complicate this shit too much. I know it works because she caught a second one the next day. 82cm. Not bad. Some guy down the beach was using a complicated set up like this and failed every time. He actually cut his rig off and asked to borrow mine. Lmao.

Almost better than when you showed me in person, haha
Learnt a new rig.. Cheers mate. 1st time viewer n got me subscribing
Best snell knot there is imo good work ..
Great info could you show in more detail on how you do your snell and what’s the reason you tie it that way ?
I was wondering the same thing
Great vid! Does the circle hook go into the eye of the pilly or the tail? And is the pilly head out or tail out?

cheers gaz , will try this rig . if it lands , a carton of bush chooks coming your way
mmmm bush chook
Nice one Gaz! Enjoyed it, lots of great info too. That leader, how does it compare to say Black Magic Hard Fluro?
Can I use the same rig for beach fishing?

*snelled
double snell is fine, just hook the bottom hook on. It doesn't matter if there is a bit of slack in the sinker line
Where do you get those imp clips?
Mate you need to slow it down a bit more I had trouble keeping up
My live bait always tangled with my main line..
So why dont we just use ganged hooks then? Almost similar in structure with the 3 snelled hooks...
Gangs have less movement and the slab bait can’t flex and wave in the current.
What size jewies are you targeting?
What is that knot called on the hook?
Have you got a link to where you can buy those little clips for the hooks and sinker?
yeah same here Im interested where to get them?
Too much going on there!
A single 7/0 circle hooks the go with live bait
I agree
