    Great video. Would you be able to take a photo of the leader to main line so I can see how the swivel runs on it with the lumo bead?

      @markcras8508 Рік тому

      Just put the bead on so it slides down to the hook but if i am using a dual hook rig i will put the lumo bead inbetween the 2 hooks.

    for catching bait why not use a Okuma Sabiki Bait Jig Spin Rod?

    • @aussfish9995
      @aussfish9995  Рік тому

      Yeah you could absolutely, all
      my sabaki rigs are rigged and on foam blokes that I keep in plastic resealable bags. I tie them on put them away when I finish collecting bait. Wash them the next day and I’ll get about 3 trips out of them. But yeah a Sabaki rod would work well thanks for the tip tight lines Dave 👊

    Thank you for this, most informative. For night fishing, consider running a strip of red LED tape under and along the lip of your gunnel. It gives you heaps of working light but does not ruin your night vision at all.

    I read barometric pressure affects the fishes swim bladder which can give them like a stomach ache that can turn them off eating. We know so little about our fish and finding info out from the scientists can be very challenging.

    • @aussfish9995
      @aussfish9995  2 роки тому

      It’s a bit contentious the idea of barometric pressure and how it effects fish. I read quite a few scientific papers on the subject and the scientists were of the view that’s it’s impossible for fish to feel changes in barometric pressure given the volume’s of water and depths they swim and hold at. It’s interesting it’s possible it’s just a myth that a lot of fisherman believe in. Perhaps a bit like moon phase ?

    • @leemccullough558
      @leemccullough558 Рік тому +1

      Moon phase affects prawns andother speeecies e.g crabs shed on the moon to grow so this food source is not the same as it would be available in the dark of the moon prawns will bury up on the rising moon and bob when it passes into the western sky to prove this when we trawled broken bay the prawns would not come on till the moon had gone behind the western hill so fish will look for food then but when the moon is full its difficult to catch prawns but some old blokes catch jews on the moon so go figure 😀😀😊😊

      😂😂 I use fresh bait, good rigs, balanced outfits and fish the migration lines that the Jew travel up and down the River and put the time in. That’s what works for me 👍

    • @leemccullough558
      @leemccullough558 Рік тому

      @@aussfish9995 yes i agree but how did you find the migration lines in the first place and as fish move around every day to to the food source travel up and down is it on the same lines or are there new fish coming on those lines too and yes the choice of bait is important ....then you also get the lure guy who is also successful so..........😊😊regards leeroy 😊

    Very informative,going to try your rig set next time I head out.....what was the patten of the J hooks fishos used on the Jewies.?

    • @leemccullough558
      @leemccullough558 Рік тому

      Its a j shape rather thao a circle which goes back on itself and the point is back to toward the curve big difference circle increases the inertia strike rate i find with flathead thek can be hard to remove hence they are more effective the j like the letter is old school still works but srike rate is reduced i got a circle hook in my finger and it went in and wouldnt come.out so after an hour of manipulation i managed to remove it i have had j hooks in me as well and you just push them through and cut them off but the circle once its in its in and i am ann ex medic so i know what to do i hope this helps explaim in graphic detail the big difference side of jaw for circle and swallow or right down throat for j hook but at that you run the risk of being bitten off especially by flathead a better catch rate with circle less chance of losing the big one regarfs 😊😊😊
