A great take on this country evergreen by one of the finest duets to ever record a country song. The Charlie & Melba combination too often is overlooked when people recall the legendary singing partnerships like Dolly/Porter or George/Tammy.
George Jones and Melba Montgomery's "We Must Have Been Out Of Our Minds" is one of the greatest duets ever too. If you can find an duet album with them consider yourself very lucky. I have the original album of George and Melba doing "We Must Have Been Out Of Our Minds" done on United Artists in 1963. Great stuff!!
I'd also recommend the live version on UA-cam (look for the still shot with Melba in a sparkling ball gown and George in a white Nudie-style outfit and crew cut. It has to be three of country music's finest minutes. I love her voice and thick country accent as much as I love George's.

I was listening to Rhonda and Daryle's version, and it made me wonder immediately if Melba had recorded this with anyone. Low and behold, she did. Melba is a very underrated artist.
