Congratulations 🍾! Nice looking engine. Sounds great too. I pre ordered both road numbers in Montana Rail Link as I have modeled my rendition of that railroad. My local train store fella just contacted me to let me know they have finally arrived! Yay 🙂
Thanks for featuring this latest model from MTH. I'm glad that some of the staff at MTH stayed together to continue the brand. Always liked their models. This SD35 is a great looking example of their careful work.
Hey, Chris, I swear I think I am seeing more Conrail blue in 3-rail than I have ever seen before in the hobby, lol! That is a good thing. That SD35 is very sharp and a good runner, very nice! See you in less than two weeks now and I am looking forward to it. Bill B.
Nice looking piece Chris! Thanks for sharing it with us! And honestly I wouldn't worry about the variations in "Conrail Blue" between the three model makers, the only color they can agree on is black! 🤣🤣🤣 Seriously though it wouldn't be at all unusual for the blue on Conrail engines to fade and shift in service just due to weather and the railroad environment itself. And there's always the VERY great possibility that "Conrail Blue" paint had it's own variations depending on lot or manufacturer. It's not worth losing sleep over. Thanks for posting!
I believe that the real Conrail blue varied in shade over the years and depended on if Conrail painted the locomotive itself, or if a locomotive was painted by the manufacturer. I bought the Chessie Western Maryland version of this engine. Other than the front and rear handrails being bent inwards, it is a beautiful model.
I am so glad I stocked up on Williams locomotives when they were on sale at trainland 100 bucks a piece 200 bucks for a set of AA cab unit plus a freebie unit can't beat those prices. Nice simple locomotives that or you have to do is Greece them every 25 hours and you're good. I have no need for all the electronics I would rather have two conventional units instead of having one with all of the bells and whistles.
Great looking engine! I debated getting the Conrail. I ended up grabbing a pair of the Chessie from this announcement. I think MTH did well and kept the colors and such consistent with the ones from before. I don't like the horn in these so I'm going to swap it out for the 2015 or previous runs.
I paid a tad over $500 for my MRL's just picked em up. If you complain about prices maybe youall should try knitting or something😂. By the way Chris these babies run and sound GREAT!. Thanx for video

I ordered the two Chessie units and a B&O from Pats. They look great!
Gorgeous diesel, excellent detail.
Very nice locomotive with great details and sound. Thanks for another great video.

As a person who is modeling Conrail/NS I have to say that the blue on the MTH version looks so good! Thanks for sharing.
Another fine looking locomotive Chris.
Congratulations!

Such a cool looking engine Chris.
That price just made me really happy I left O gauge.
It’s not too bad when you mostly buy used. That’s what I resorted to. I’ve only bought a hand full of “must have” items new.
@@Bcwilliams97 well heres the thing. I could buy 2 maybe 3 engines used in HO or N or I could buy 1 O gauge engine. Easy choices IMO.
@@jacksonthomas1851 it's almost like the larger product costs more 🤯
MTH did the SD35s in the last 2020 vol 2 catalog which included the Southern/N&W high hood SD35s.
I actually like the MTH version the best on the color tone
Lookin good. Go blue.

I have an Atlas Conrail SD35 with TMCC and RailSounds 4.0.
Mth looks best
I have both MRL's. Just picked them up, they look spot on as far as 1/48 scale to me?
Way over priced. This why I won’t buy anything now. Not that I can’t afford it just not going pay that price.
