Such an underrated actress. Unfortunately for years she was never given a chance to show her talents. But Gone Girl and A Private War are both brilliant films, and she’s a big part of it.
@@everythingisawesome2903 Julianne Moore is a very good actress and I believe she should have won it years ago. But that was Rosamund's year without a doubt.
That accent is so proper yet not aristocratic, love it. She'd be great at playing the Queen in future films, or anything that is a biography on Julie Andrews :-)
She is really amazing when she began laughing, as I felt she started to open up a bit more. John is the real deal, you can tell he has a director’s personality. Wonderful interview.
One of the things i like about Rosamund, its her ability to shift with the character. We do not see Rosamund, instead we see the character coming to life, that she makes us believe.
Man i like where her head is at. When John was trying not to cry its just a reminder of how big this guys heart is and his passion, its so beautiful to see people reacting physically to joy, we dont see enough of this in that way. If i was him id be fully balling with the joy of my life. Kids, his career, his wife, just being able to love myself would be enough for a happy cry. What a beautiful man and as usual Rosamand Pike is a veritable badass, completely present and curious and brilliant and honest. This combo certainly made for a special conversation. Because Krasinski so jovial and passionate its nice to have that contrast in characters a quite moment for them to go deeper.
I love how Rosamond refuses to be placed within the same role. Her movement from Jane Bennett to her role in Gone Girl to an enemy in 007 was phenomenal.
Before Gone Girl, she said in an interview that she desperately need a lead role after being sidelined in a supporting role (eventhough some of them were quite memorable like Jane Bennet) and to see her being Amy Dunne was freaking great
John Krasinski is one of the most articulate, emotionally intelligent actors i can think of. He is so in touch with the task at hand, i love everything he touches.
John is so intelligent, sweet and kind. The way, he goes from being emotional to being funny is amazing. I've heard, his stories a few times about how he got The Office. I never get tired of hearing about it. He's very successful. Hope he keeps starring in and directing more movies.
She has that Grace Kelly level beauty and class (ex Bond girl) and she's a world class actress with the extreme virtuosity of Blanchette or Rebecca Hall or Andrea Riseborough.
This is honestly one of the best vid series on youtube- so interesting, perfect pairings, it cuts out the sometimes silly, ridiculous interview questions and lets two people talk about something they both care so deeply about! absolutely perfect can't wait for more
Wow. I just watched the interview with Hugh Jackman and Emily Blunt, and came right to this. What a phenomenal pair of conversations, with actors deeply respectful of their craft, extremely thoughtful about what they are doing, and who are willing to share this with us.
I find Rosamund Pike fascinating. It is a shame she is such an underrated actress. She is so good. I would love to see her acting alongside Keira again and Emily.
So glad to see Rosamund here and nominated at the Golden Globes. I always feel like she was forgotten after the Gone Girl hype faded. By the way, what a good pairing! John did a movie in which the characters weren't allowed to make noises. Rosamund played a journalist with only one eye. Both of them limitated by their senses.
I loved Pike on Gone Girl... absolutely stunning performance. A Quiet Place is something else, a beast. How everything was used was absolutely mind blowing
These interviews are remarkable. Two people sharing emotions of their characters within themselves. Sharing ideas and concepts that are not necessarily brought out in talk shows or other interviews. Very interesting.
I am just in tears the whole time watching this idk, this particular actors on actors really moved me. i love watching this series, always interesting pairs, always so insightful.
To be honest, I clicked on this video mostly because I find John Krasinski incredibly attractive! But, as I watched him interview Pike and then talk about his experience with directing these two child actors in A Quiet Place (which is a fantastic film, by the way), I felt something, for lack of a better word, odd. It was like the physical attraction almost went away and something else emerged. He comes across as so caring, loving, and intelligent in such a genuine way that I finally realized a part of me actually wished that growing up I had a father like him. As a gay man with psychoanalytic training who is slightly older than Krasinski I am stunned by the fact that he (assuming this is similar to what he is like in real life) triggered such an unusual fantasy in my "subconscious" mind. I hope he is fully aware of his charisma and uses it very judiciously, because I doubt very many people can say no to a person who can light up all the critical attachment networks in the human brain so easily.
I completely get that. Maybe its just that particular desired connection outweighs your needs for the other maybe because you already have those connections. Its very simple really our parents are our first loves (if your lucky) and they set the bar of our expectations of what men or women are. When you can recognise immediately that this is a person who has the qualities you connect wit now and would want to experience as a child you are brought back to the ideas of what you may have craved in hindsight from your parent. At least thats how i feel. I thought you might be Dax Shepard for a second but alas. He is beautiful i was completely smitten after the office like he truly broke my heart so effortlessly it felt, gahh the butterflies. He has a playfulness that really works because of his earnestness. Id like to see less action Krasinski and more working man krasinski in his characters that is, because he has this natural heroism that is richer i think when its not the character whose already set up that way.
Mr. K says it at the start of this interview. Full sentences. This conversation is so beautiful because I feel as though I've been encouraged to listen. An educated, respectful discussion where people speak and listen.
OMG, Watching this footage made me think..."There is no one else that can portray Moiraine in the Wheel of Time adaptation other than Rosamund Pike." She IS Moiraine! This is the best thing I have watched on UA-cam in a long time, I love both of these actors. JK is so much more than Jim from the office. I love this guy!
Wonderful discussion. Loved hearing from both of them. I do wish John didn't keep cutting off Rosamund's answers. She handled it very graciously, but she shouldn't have had to.
I like when they talked about the eye patch , John says the guy he worked with was getting frustrated as to rosamund explains the characters feelings towards it and it revolutionized the character. I feel like an a way she used it as an advantage in that film as should any good actor/actress should. Many probs

I can tell Rosamund Pike is an old soul, by her choice of words, line of thinking and tone. Thats beautiful.
She's just posh
She's an Oxford alum,so she has this elegance and intellect that most posh people have.
Agreed, well stated.
@Bruno cuci English Literature.

Yes, she did!! She was awesome as Jane!

Rosamund Pike strikes me as a proper grown-up. As a 33-year-old I feel like a child, so these things stand out to me.
That's lovely if you still feel like a child. Just be yourself, nurture that inner child
You and me both. I turn 30 in about 2 weeks. I don't see myself as an adult. I have responsibilities and such but still feel like a child at times.
It seems to age her a bit. But she does seem very regal.
Her accent, posture, and wardrobe certainly exude that.
I am 94 and I am back being a child. I like farting in the bathtub, it tickles me

John is such a good human being and Rosamund is just so beautiful and talented. I had to go somewhere but I watched this fully before I left.
What a surprise this interview was! Revealing, sweet and clearly sincere without trying to pull at heartstrings. I honestly didn’t want it to end.
without trying to pull heartstrings, pleeeaase. That's exactly what Krasinski did here and with A Quiet Place, he's not stupid, I'll give him that.

John is the whole package period! He and Emily are perfect for each other.
"I Care A Lot" is by far her best character movie. So twisted, so dark, so caring. Brilliant.
"I know nothing about that, and I needed a guide." The hallmark of greatness: modesty. Knowing what you don't know. Chapeau, Mr. Krasinski.
Even though most actors are very pedantic John Krasinski feels genuine when he talks about cinema.
I feel like you can see why he went into directing; he has that passion for film that comes through.
Because he is a director.
Pedantic =/= not-genuine
@@TheBaconWizard pedantic means teacher like or academic but most actors arent particularly intelectual or academic so he musused the word I think.
