I hope the person/people at Polyphony who designed the Lago Maggiore course have or get a side gig in actually designing real tracks. Because it is such an incredible circuit.
Dragon Trail and Maggiore are some of my favorite tracks in the GT franchise. Purely because of how well they flow. You're missing the following: Apricot Hill Raceway Red Rock Valley Speedway Tahiti Road Grindelwald Seattle Circuit Rome Circuit Complex String Special Stage Route 11 El Capitan Cape Ring
Based on what I've observed with F1 and GT, here's how feasible I think it would be for F1 To Race on them if they were real: *High Speed Ring* : Kinda Iffy. Its mostly flat out (with only one other F1 track kinda like this) but its also super wide and F1 are all about "The Show". Its a coin toss really *Grand Valley* : Would like to point out this is the original Grand Valley Speedway, not the current Highway-1 (Scenery being the biggest difference). In either case, F1 would not go to either purely due to the lack of runoffs and insufficient facilities of the latter (Grade 1 nonsense and stuff) *Special Stage Route 5* : Another iffy one. On one hand, no cut outs in the barriers for car recovery (or safety intervention vehicles). On the other hand, F1 sure do love them some street circuits... *Autumn Ring* : Far too small for today's F1 cars AND it lacks runoff. Would need to be butchered beyond recognition. *Trail Mountain* : Another track that F1 would avoid, regardless of which iteration it was. Not even that new chicane, something that F1 loves for some reasons, would be enough considering the facilities are kinda tight and that Chicane IS the only amount of runoff you're getting. *Eiger Nordward* : Would absolutely agree they wouldn't like this. The list of "Totally not suitable for F1" issues here are numerous. *Mid-Field Raceway* : First actual track that could host an F1 race and meet Grade 1 standards. Guarantee the Crytocurrency ads or the Aramco ads would be obnoxious though. *Deep Forest* : Original not so much. Current one is another for the iffy pile. *Lago Maggiore* : Absolutely. Screams F1 venue with the way it flows and the Curb and Runoff areas. *Dragon Trail* : I think not only would F1 race here, but it'd be a sellout every year PURELY because people want to see who bins in the Chicane of Death ( people are morbid) *Tokyo R246* : Certainly could if it still looked like that today, especially if Honda wanted it (If you know, you know). Weirdly, it gives me Las Vegas Vibes.
As far as the "new guard" of GT fictional tracks go I'd say Maggiore is my favorite. And considering that the main layout is billed as the GP circuit I have to assume it was designed to FIA Grade 1 specifications to begin with.
If I remember correctly, in Tokyo R246 there's a Honda HQ building right before the start/finish line. I suppose Honda would like to take an F1 street circuit in there, if FIA agreed of course...
They do have some similarities in layout. Pull up both track maps side by side and they're not exactly identical, but there *IS* an uncanny resemblance. They're cut from the same cloth, and those who didn't know any better might assume they were designed by the same person.
I feel NASCAR would hate it there, can't see how they couldn't have to run the superspeedway package esp with how turn 1 is Also the concerning lack of SAFER barriers
@@windyman56 I feel like the track would probably have SAFER barriers already installed if it was real. Being in GT kinda eliminates the need for making those changes. I don't think it would be a plate race, simply because the cars wouldn't stay bunched up like on an oval.
@skaldlouiscyphre2453 yet they still have steel Armco barriers everywhere. Im surprised that the track in GT didn't have SAFER barriers considering how detail oriented the fictional tracks are. Maybe it would play out like the Daytona road course race during COVID?
