My bedroom is in need of more plants, be they fake, or otherwise. By watching your videos, I can see where flowers and plants really bring life to a space. God bless you girl! ❤️🙏🏻
When we moved to Kentucky, i chose a color palette that reminded my hubby & I of a favorite area - nortwest coastal (oregon & Washington state). So we went with three varying shades of a bluish grey for the walls, soft white for ceilings & some accent pieces of furniture/cabinets (especially the bathrooms). Then using dark navy blue, burgundy (and lavender / rosy pinks in my craft room) with richer tones of wood (cherry, fruitwood or mahogany) with brushed nickel metals makes our place cool, simple but comfortable also.
Minimalist decorating is definitely a plus. We have traditional taste and have honed down our accessories since our initial home decorating 33 years ago. Easier to keep everything cleaned and organized quickly. There’s a better flow to the rooms visually and a peace and calmness. Our home still has a comfortable and cozy vibe, but without the distraction of excess decor.
Ur STYLE all around is super fresh sprinkled with a feeling of peace! Your place is amazing. The colours and shades u have chosen are so on Point!Your clothes also show how much style and great taste u have. I have enjoyed this video visually and u have very good tips as well. Thanks for sharing. 😊
I don't usually like minimalism. But I like your minimalism. Yours brings serenity into your home. A great goal that I am working for, by simplifying and organizing. Your videos are a great help.
Hi, Ashlynne. Content on this channel is always so spot on w what I need to do. For some reason I have to work pretty hard, though, to catch & hear what u are saying. Can’t quite put my finger on if it’s a sound thing or something else. I’m going to keep coming back, because u are SUCH a lovely person, & info here is the absolute best!
I’ve been trying more & more to add more plant life to my home! I’ve never had a very good green thumb though so I’m starting out small and seeing how it goes! I bought my first pothos plant a couple weeks ago and I really have enjoyed the addition to my home! 🌱
Aw I love that!! It’s definitely a learned skill, not something that comes naturally for most for us! I’ve killed my fair share of plants 😉 Good luck with the pothos!! I would also recommend snake plants, monstera, and rubber plants if you want to branch out as you feel more comfortable with it. In my experience, they’re all pretty easy to take care of 🤍
Hope it goes well for you.. start with succulents they tend to be hard to kill.. that's how I started now I have 30+ indoor plants, and I love looking at them they make fell calm and re freshed. And I agree Snake plants are pretty easy just don't over water them. Lucky bamboo super easy just stick it in water and keep it clean Spider plant are easy to put them in a very sunny window and they taken off I have mine in a south window and they are huge now and it didn't take long. My Pothos is easy as well.
Chanel also said "elegance is refusal, " which could practically be the minimalist's credo. 🙂 Thanks for this video, Ashlynne. I am an arch-minimalist but even for me an all-white empty space can be a bit TOO minimalist lol, and your tips are a very nice summation of COMMON SENSE minimalism, of what to do to create a minimalist vibe yet still make your spaces cozy, warm and comfortable. ANY style can be "minimalized" (well, except of maximalism, I suppose lol) by following your tips or, conversely, a super-minimalist style can be "de-minimalized" by following your tips as well. An excellent video!
I've been watching a lot of home decor/room makeover videos lately, so I'm happy that this appeared on my home page! It's always so fun to just get inspiration and see how other people decorate their spaces 😊
When you bring in your ideas from prior videos and add your new ideas, your video stays true to your personal brand that has drawn me in as one of your subscribers. For example I notice that you love a nicely styled bookcase and also using your own art pieces to decorate a wall space. You showed these after bringing in a lot of new design ideas and I did like that.
🪴Plants! Always incorporating plants. I'm starting to do more hanging plants and utilizing wall space in order to keep surfaces clear. A lot of these tips I already use but thank you for the video of your lovely home.
Love your ideas as always. As far as funds, it is amazing how much nature offers things that can be used and thrift stores, even dollar stores. It doesnt take much funds if u are short on them. Even check your own home and move things around
All of your ideas are amazing! My partner and I will be buying our first house together next year, and we will definitely be going back to this video for helpful tips and inspiration. Thank you 💕
Love this because I’m a minimalist but love the cozy vibe of a mid-maximalist boho home but could never live in (or probably afford😂) one. These are great tips!!❤
Hi Ashlynne! This was such a helpful video! You have such a gift for decorating and your home is just beautiful! Thank you for giving so many great tips!❤
What a wonderful video - thank You dear for all those beautiful tips I’ll implement in my redecorating process, as I’ve been renovating my home and now kinda move back in .. so excited to make it to a beautiful cosy home again ✨🤭🥰
@@AshlynneEaton what are your thoughts on like a random pop of color? maybe i missed that part of your video, i like how you talk about a color pallet, but like lets say its a dusty blue with neutrals, what about a pop of coral here and there?
Everytime I open the UA-cam app and find your video, it just brightens my day and softens my heart❤ I love the content that you put out ❤ Have a nice day Ashlynne✨
Thanks for a real inspirational video ❤. I always love to put flowers in my house. They make me feel happy. As my appartment doesn’t really have much natural light plants are a bit difficult, but whereever real plants are possible I will start to put them. I do have some fake plants in the places where there is absolutely no natural light. I’m not a real minimalist but I still love to have rest and peace around me so I will certainly implement the colourschemes you showed 😊
I love how the edges of your sheets are straight and not wrinkled up from how the fabric gets stretched in the production process. Do you buy sheets that are just that neat? Or do you iron them?
I live in an area that gets too cold to not have heavy insulated curtains. In summer they are great keeping the heat out when the sun is on that side of the house.
Absolutely beautiful and informative video ! Loved it and love your home and decor too ! I practice a lot of what you mentioned but probably need to declutter a little more. Thank you for your lovely videos.
I'm trying to have a futuristic, cyber, minimalistic room but its SO HARD. I LOVE being stimulated visually and idk what to do. Also I have a lot of things,books...
These are such great tips! I love the minimal look but definitely also want my home to feel cosy-- we've been slowly adding plants as I learn how to not kill them 😂 it makes a huge difference! I would love it if you did a video on plant care -- I need all the help I can get in that area.
Hi Ashlynne, I enjoyed your video. Me and my best friend watched together. We liked the plants, candle, and artwork. We have started decorating for Spring
Do you remember name of a plant that you are repotting @ 10:09 I'm looking for the same one. Your house is beautiful. I would love to redecorate mine 😅 Love your videos 🌿🌷🍀
I totally get that. It can be difficult when you don’t feel like you have the funds to create a perfect space. 🤍 I’ve been there and felt that way before. But with a lot of these tips, you can really work with what you have. For example, you with the floor plan tips, you can arrange your furniture in the best possible layout, using only what you already have. Or with the harmonious numbers tip, you can rearrange existing decor to create a more harmonious set up. Or with meaningful art, if you can’t afford to buy something from a local artist, we’re not make it yourself? A lot of us have all the supplies we need for many projects in our homes already. I just want to encourage you, I know sometimes it can be easy to think that spending a ton of money is the only option, but you really can work with what you have to create a space you love. 🤍
Agree! But I'm broke and have used a lot of these tips over the years. Thrift stores and Facebook marketplace is amazing for finding affordable furniture. You don't "need" to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on one item. I scored a brand new bedroom set (bed frame, with mattress, dresser and nightstands) for $200. We already had a matress so I sold the mattress it came with for $100 then sold our dresser we had for $100. Which means we upgraded our bedroom for free! We did the same thing with our kitchen table. We found one for $50 and scanned the free pages for mismatched oak chairs which we like the look of. Also look for stores that sell used staging furniture. We got our couch and tv media shelf from a real estate agent that knew staggers that didn't need it anymore and sold it to is for $100 (it was essentially still brand new and worth way more!) So if your dedicated and diligent and know your style you can score good furniture and decor for less.
