I wired my bike rack for lights, because when the rack is mounted behind my motorhome and the bikes aren't covered, the bikes get super dirty, so I use a bike cover. One thing rad about this rack is it shows the license when there are no bikes and it folded up.
      When there are bikes on their it does hide the plates. I don’t have a solid solution for when they are full of bikes.

      I saw one guy at a race with his license plate bolted to his rack. So I guess that’s an option 🤷‍♂️. I’ve never had problems and don’t know anyone who has so it’s rare in my area of NC

    What's the consensus on visible license plates or not? I know 1Up has a license plate relocation accessory - does kuat have an answer for this, or do folks universally accept non-visible license plates?

    Hi Dustin, the lights are cool but do you have a fix for reversing cameras?

    • @br5380
      @br5380 2 роки тому +1

      I’ve a BMW 3 series with a tow bar, the electrics automatically compensate when I’ve a rack/trailer plugged in. So it disables the rear most parking sensors, but the camera still works as it should.

    I was very nervous putting my brand new beach cruiser on this rack. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxG6JIgwJhur8_Rg8UeQ3EmePzi_wSncL8 But after reading many reviews I decided to get this one and take a chance. When arrived it was very simple to adjust and put together. I also added spike tape over the metal hooks before securing and tightening the straps, and no scratches. I also purchased the top bar made by the same company so that my cruiser sits straight on the rack without having to turn upside down. Extra bungee cords are used to secure the front wheel from flapping and even piece of mind knowing your bike is secure. Definitely recommend...

    How long do you have the rack for Dustin? Hell, I'd buy one but my Kuat NV 2.0 is still going strong.

  • @rudymsmith
    @rudymsmith 2 роки тому

    I bought this for my two riese muller ebikes... unfortunately the old Kuat 2.0 was a much more secure rack because the hook to the front wheel was much stronger. The piston pro x uses a thin aluminum for the uprights and a plastic piece to cinch down the tire - it moves terribly, even with an extra strap. Then consider the new system makes no accommodations for fenders.

    What I don't like about the rack is that it is not very secure for keeping your bikes safe. The long plastic coated wire lock will only stop the opportunist thief and putting locks on the cradles for the wheels will not actually do anything whatsoever, because all I'd need to do is undo your thru axle or quick release then lift the frame off then the wheels are free as well. The integrated lights are good though and saves connecting an auxiliary lighting board to a rack.

    • @EverythingsBeenDone

      @@EverythingsBeenDone I wasn't trying to p you off with my comment as I watched the video three times pausing it so I could get a better look and have gone to the website as well. I honestly don't know if the manufacturer could add something like what Thule uses to clamp the down or top tube but I wouldn't fancy clamping a carbon frame in one incase it cracked. Bike security with bike racks has been an issue for 30 years and no manufacturer can say their racks are completely bike thief proof. If I had to use the plastic coated wire one I'd probably go for at least higher security rated 10mm one and use a motorcycle alarmed disc/rotor lock (type which can also be used as a padlock) to give an extra bit of audible security.
