Ultimately, we don't know how the previous owner took care of our car and we do all we can to give us a sense of security even though the part we just replaced looks brand-spanking' new. We do it anyway because #1 I'm too lazy to return the product and #2 it would make for a good tutorial.
@@GXBOB can you make a video to adjust the low beam headlight on this model ? I have a 2014 gx460 and the drivers side seems a bit lower and i cant find any info online on how to adjust it

What is the torque spec on these spark plugs for the GX 460? Thanks.
To be honest, i have always tightened it to a “snug” feel. Tight enough but not overly tight. Same as an oil filter. Book calls for around 13ft lbs but you have factors such as how crudded your threads are or if you’re using anti seize, etc…
@@GXBOB Yesterday I went ahead and changed the passenger side spark plugs first and plan to finish the driver side on Tuesday. I used Denso Iridium and coated with anti seize and torqued at 15ft lbs. I cautiously assembled back the parts together and doubled check the sensor connectors. Next I fired up the engine and on the speedo cluster prompted a reading "4Lo" blinking and the check engine icon light came out. This morning a disconnected the battery hoping that it will reset itself. Connected the battery and started the engine. Engine fired up but with slightly less power. After about 4 minutes engine shut off. What did I do wrong? Help, anyone .

@@jacquesdemolay5791 To be honest, there are a few factors involved. The easiest one is you left a vacuum line detached and/or sensor. But you said you double-checked everything. My car did the same thing last year. I dropped it off at the dealer and they fixed it for free. Its a very common issue and you'll see it all over the forums. Someone actually posted a letter from Lexus noting they know about the issue. I dropped a link for you in the previous reply for you to read the comments from other forums.
@@GXBOB Thanks Bob.
Get the K&N Engine and Cabin filters.....
i'm not sure i'm going to keep the car that long for me to invest in K&N filters!
@@GXBOB I'm keeping mine forever...it's just too dang good....LOL!
@@GXBOB Did you do ATF drain-and-fill yet? That was pretty easy.... DO NOT DO A 'FLUSH'!!!
I don't think you are right Iridium spark plugs last around 60-100 thousand miles our 100-150 thousand kilometer
Per the NGK website, the laser iridium lasts up to 100k miles while the non laser iridium lasts up to 50k miles.

the dealer charge over $700 for this service.....
Now you just saved $700 minus the cost of the plugs!
I recently said no thanks and paid the dealer $350 for this. It was worth every penny.
Yikes! I purchased the spark plugs on eBay for $70 and the rest was just mere labor. I know it looks intimidating but i reserved a couple of hours of my time and a handful of tools. You'd be surprised at how easy it was. Just requires some patience. If the video didn't encourage you to do it yourself, at least I hope it was entertaining. Thanks for viewing.
@@GXBOB I don't trust the dealer for JACK anymore.....Unless it is super hard and obvious if the fix was actually completed.....
@@GXBOB My dealer wants $899 to do this job. Seriously considering doing this myself
"HOLY F--K!!!" LOL!
Still easier then doing a plug change on a Ford E350
And an IKEA coffee table.
@@GXBOBI did a couple IKEA tables. Once you have it on its back it’s a walk in the park. I’m here considering a GX350 and figured I’d watch some

Ha ha Toyota dealership just gave me an estimate of 880 dollars to change plugs for a 2010 GX460.
damn, thats how much i make in a year.
Hi Bob - thanks for this video, I have a 2015 GX460 and will likely be doing my plugs + coils soon. I came across this video about counterfeit NGK4904s...wasn't sure if you were aware ua-cam.com/video/-P5l6T-gHCg/v-deo.html
apparently some counterfeits have come from eBay.
Holy crap. You got me paranoid now.
Man I won’t buy a car part from no name sellers on amazone or eBay. Only buy from amazone itself or dealers who sell parts on these market places
Ye i ordered mine from amazon and now thinking they might be fake too
66 foot pounds ? Quit that Bob
lol, damn it you caught it.
That’s effed up, bro. People rely on these videos and giving out wrong information like that could seriously damage someone’s vehicle and cost them a shit tomato fix. Do better, bro.
Whoever designed it like that is a criminal.
Lol. I agree.
