old shifter had linkage rods and then they went to bushing then they had cables. my late ex brother-in-law use to have a saturn 4dr compact with a manual trans and he had to remove the shifter boot to use the cable for up-shifting.

Solving such a problem at such low cost feels like...vengeance!!! It feels like vengeance against unscrupulous manufacturers who charge an arm and a leg for substandard parts of questionable origin. I really enjoyed THIS solution! Aloha...and God bless!
