I look forward to the video showing offensive players going into the defenders path and dislodging. this seems to be missed a lot and defenders are at a disadvantage because ball handlers are being taught to jump into or bump defenders on the drive by going out of their own path. What I have always struggled with, from a defensive perspective, is at an early age you are taught to stay between the man and the basket. if the offensive player is toward the baseline and body facing that direction, why would I get in his path? it takes me out of position and eventually he will come into my path if he trying to get to the basket. Isn't a defender allowed to move laterally, obliquely, and backwards once legal guarding position is established?
