Well, so here's me again for the statistical analysis! You killed 440 Tombstones, +/- 5. I noticed in DoS it is actually quite easy to tell from the EXP, so in hindsight I could have applied that for peeping eye as well. The odds for this were about (1 - (0.0078 (Base Drop) * 2 (Soul Eater) * (1 + 32 (LUCK) * 0.00013646 (Increase per Luck))) ^ 440 = 0.0960%, so not that bad, all things considered. I included the Luck stat as well this time, because with this amount of kills, even a miniscule increase in the drop rate could have a huge impact. To demonstrate, if we repeat the calculation with just 1 more Luck (1 - (0.0078 * 2 * (1 + 33 (incremented LUCK) * 0.00013646)) ^ 440 = 0.0959%, then solve (1 - (0.0078 * 2 * (1 + 32 * 0.00013646))) ^ X = 0.0959%, we learn that you would have needed 440 kills, meaning luck still does nothing. Have a nice day.
Oh my god, JC, seeing you speed running a Quintet game (Terranigma in particular, my absolute favorite game of all time) would be amazing!! Robotrek is also a really fun idea, love that game, what a sleeper hit.
@@erie3936 Right? It's a childhood favorite of mine that absolutely still holds up almost 30 years later. Low key one of the most emotional RPGs of that era too.
@@King_Firebrand Yeah that also always gets me. As a kid I could never truly appreciate the ending, but that one now truly gets to me as an adult with a better understanding of the true implications of that ending. Heartbreakingly beautiful.
Jup with the correct SNES-RPG opinions, incredible. Lufia 2 and FF5 are truly the top tier. Illusion of Gaia got that 'double tap to run' thing going on that turns a lot of people off. No double back option either.
That explains why Soma has Mickey ears and is standing before Cinderella's Castle. XD Enjoy the trip, Jup! I too need to start attending in-person events and expand my social circle to more than just my gym coach. ;p (Tried to attend an otaku cafe but the snacks are expensive and I didn't find anything to do, the arcade is just boring, though I did get to play Scott Pilgrim vs. the World as Knives for free. ^_^) I went to RPG Limit Break this year, but I didn't get to sit in all the events due to my throat being a jerk and I only had the money for three days. Also, I gained 26 pounds from the food alone but I enjoyed my time there, got to even put my face on the camera for a bit.
Not really a suggestion for speedrunning but I have a softspot for Tales of. The gameplay is generally simple to understand but has decent depth to it, you have way different playstyles with the characters and the story is pretty good. The first one Tales of Phantasia was originally supposed to be a novel and I think it still holds up. Oh yeah also the music is awesome highly recommend.
Tombstone tried to bury this run, but Peeping Eye helped us see it through to the end. Also I wish you a fantastic time with your family at Disney 🎉 Well deserved vacation. Also really looking forward to all the live events you plan on visiting, especially the RPG one. Even though Lufia 2 is not the best RPG, sorry. It's pretty great and I love it dearly, but Chrono is just life.
that thumbnail.... somickey? Edit: a shame about AGDQ buuuuuut hey i'm glad you were invited a big ol' trip to disney with your folks! Totally worth it i'd say!!
Might I suggest maybe trying out front mission gun hazard on the SNES. Quite the fun action RPG made and it was never released in the states. Their is a English patch for the game. Love the content man keep up the good work
Good god, Death's Scythe AND Panther within 4 minutes? If the runtime of the video didn't give it away already, THAT certainly did lol EDIT: And it was somehow the WORSE time because of *the worst Tombstone farm I have ever seen.* This is as close to the god run as I think will ever exist.
TBH, I thought about learning speedrunning Ys 1 before. That seems like an accessible RPG to speedrun although given the game's popularity in Japan, I expect the leaderboard is really competitive. However having played it, it seems like a decent game to run.
I spent 45 minutes wondering how you kept up with what souls dropped before I realized/remembered the game shows monster info on the bottom screen. I am smrt.
I would really like them to have a PS5 Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds collection which ports the only DS titles. I really enjoyed those games and even tried to write fanfiction based on the duels but when I got one of the Tarot cards in the jailhouse duel, I just realized it was not going to work. XD

And there's the Disneyland thumbnail that was promised
15:05 illusion of Gaia one of the best games on SNES along with terranigma and soul blazer. wow the soundtracks

I love Terranigma so much. I don't care nobody asked. It's my favourite game

When Ark lost to ability to speak to the animals I cried as a kid. For some reason I hated the thought that he couldn't talk with his friends anymore.

Glad to hear of more people taking an interest in RPG LB, i am interested to see what you learn to submit to our event!
I can't believe you actually put the Disney reference lol. Amazing run!

If anyone's wondering, the Bloodstained 1.6 update is now released
Jupiter is playing it right as I'm writing this reply!
fire thumbnail. glad I got to watch this one live
That tombstone farm was actually so painful to watch
I only blinked and he already has a Death Scythe
That explains why Soma has Mickey ears and is standing before Cinderella's Castle. XD

"I've got everything, except I can't swim and I can't swap time" first world problems

I was literally about to suggest Illusion of Gaia when you mentioned it ❤ Don’t forget Soul Blazer as well.
Something that has always bothered me is that the mud demon kind of looks like Leonardo da Vinci's self portrait and I cannot unsee it.....
Considering that it took you about 14 minutes to get Tombstone (and imp), if they were first tries you'd get sub 1:50, which is absurd.
I don't know why, but I've always found Gergoth to be so cute. He's just a little guy!
we love gergy

A casual sub-40 complete tracker on top of a LOADED start, what insanity am I watching?
14 min for the tombstone! Great run!
Illusion of Gaia! That'd be really cool.
This run deserved to be way more hyped out about in the Discord smh

If you want a niche RPG, try the DBZ RPGs.

Earthbound is a pretty good game, that's why (at the moment of writing this comment) i have Jeff Andonuts as my profile picture! :D
Nice to see dawn of sorrow all souls. Enjoy Disney!
To answer your question of choosing between FFV and Lufia 2 I pick Lufia 2 all day. That game has been my favorite for about 25 years now.
For a good rpg game to speed run especially as a learner would be golden sun, or disgaea.
Are you interested in play, serenade under the moon or down of dissonance @Jupiterclimb ?
Yes, I've played both in the past! Really hoping for the Dawn of Dissonance update, it's one of my favorites
are mods coming to dominus?
Let's go gambling!
Hopefully you get into no reset!
39:02 Speak of the Dio...
I think this run is unbeatable :)
59:08 getting nam flashbacks lol
Sub 2 killed by a Tombstone... how ironic
26:48 😂😂😊😊
1:30:54 headphones had to go in cuz my wife was wondering what all the "moaning" was about...
Crisp 60p!
No one:
Konami devs: "Let's make a monster whose soul only allows you to move underwater faster have a three star soul rarity because why not"
music's on random as well? how troubling
Wonder if jup should speedrun a persona game? Not the new ones, but like 1, 2IS, or 2EP. It would be interesting to me at least
