Studio that makes money by producing animated shows: Producing these animated shows is cutting into our budget. Let's cancel all of them. Studio after people don't watch shows that don't exist: Where banana?
Yep! Most notably, concept artists are receiving the largest boot! The only good news is that when that company replaced a concept artist with AI, the whole project crumbles, because think about it, the point of concept art is to figure out the elements of a game, be it a vehicle, a map, or a whole scene. You're working directly with the artist to flesh out the idea into something you can work with. Now try to do that with AI, how TF can you take an image shat out by something that can't even describe what it made?

Wait, so... Just as the gaming industry has been rotting at the core with big corporations, leaving solid pickings for indie developers, the same is more-or-less happening to the animation industry now? Based on this and others' comments, that's what I'm understanding from this here; am I missing anything or is it actually getting that bad for animation?
In short words. YES. sadly CEOs of animations just want to see money and they do those things to have at least some money in the moment and not for big sales what can or not happen, is sad and worrying...
Yes what is happening to the gaming community is exactly what's happening to the animation right now. But that can be very bad as most TV packages and all that are hosted on well TV and it means that there's not going to be any more interesting TV shows. You just really going to have to go to a streaming service which may not work all the time. Or you may not have enough money. UA-cam is your best bet if you want to watch any sort of animation that is if they show their episodes for free. It also means that people who develop in the animation have to get a lot of support because they don't have super big teams that can work on a bunch of animations at once. It's not impossible but it definitely makes everything harder.

For our final project, we ran a virtual business for 10 'years', with each week being another year. Everyone was split into groups. Well honestly the merger should have never happened. Anti trust needs to come back harder. The Biden administration is trying, but it's not looking good for the next election.
Honestly, it's become so damn stagnant because of it. I clung onto DC and by extension Warner just because they were still fostering new ideas, but now they've closed off any source of creativity for the sake of mitigating risk.

It’s really sad what’s currently happening with western animation but can I just say I love how this animation isn’t just a glorified ad and instead a really insightful one minute PSA? The art style cute, the voice acting good, it’s mostly taken seriously but the jokes they do add don’t ruin the mood and it tells a lot of information in a digestible chunk. It again sucks the industry is the way it is now, but good job on getting the message across. This got a lot more heart and soul in it than the executives who fired all these animators.

it breaks my heart they stopped airing it
This is a big problem in the game industry too!

Shit like this is why I'm against capitalism and I want it gone.
@@cubechan1938 I think everyone who still can't make a living with 2 to 3 jobs want it gone except for the rich.
@@cubechan1938 It will never be gone

The people running these corporations are the some of the same kind I sat next to in college getting my business degree.
For our final project, we ran a virtual business for 10 'years', with each week being another year. Everyone was split into groups. At the end, the group that did the "best" as far as company valuation was the one that didn't focus on their products or services, but rather on the stock market, doing buybacks and such. Its a short-sighted view of what makes a business successful. Yes, you do well, but long-term, its very likely the company will go under or have to restructure itself when it can't maintain the cycle of pumping up the bottom line at all costs.
I'm on the side of crowdfunding. If animators are getting laid off in big numbers, they should join the side that would actually care about and respect them.
