Very interesting! Would you make a video about all the little (or big) ajustment or composition to integrate your 3D model with actual footage? The "add blur because CG is always too sharp compared to the plate" was very interesting and there aren't a lot of video about that in blender, expecialy from a pro in the industry! Often it's very easy to spot a bad composition or integration (because it feels wrong or fake) but it's not so easy to exactly know what is wrong or how to fix it...
I'm using Nuke because Natron crashes a lot and has about only 30% of Nuke's features. Natron is OK for small projects but it's no Nuke, that's for sure.
You probably saw the Mac interface and wondered how I could render so fast? Two answers: editing (sometimes I make the clips faster so I won't bore the viewers) and second: Hackintosh. That was done a an old 8 cores i7 but I had a 980ti and a 780 in it so that gave me a lot of coda cores. Yep, hardware rendering in Blender on a Mac. But I don't use this machine anymore. I couldn't update the OS anymore and Blender 2.90, FCP and Resolve wouldn't run on it so I got a new Mac. A real one this time.
But if I really need power, I can always use the machine at the office. A 32 core beast with 64 gigs of RAM and a 2080ti. Still, that wasn't enough for a 75 million poly scene I did a few months ago. I could only render it on the render farm (needed 78 gigs of RAM). I will make a clip about that shot in about a month, so stay tuned and subscribe. You don't want to miss that one! :-)

Your channel is seriously under-rated Robert! The information you shared on your channel is a must see for all aspiring VFX artists!
Thank you so much!
Thankyou!
You’re welcome! Glad you like it!

It's already planned. I just have too many subjects to cover. Thanks for the comments! :-)
@@BlenderBob Great to read that! Thank you for doing these videos! :)
Are u using nuke or natron...if natron ...what do u mean by unstable...is it always crashing?

Great video. I can't see any links.
Attila Racz Thanks! Check in the video description for the links.
@@BlenderBob I see it now. Thx.
in AO pass how did you get them in full white in blender, ransparent space is coming in black right by default?
Just make a plan in the BG but in this case I think I added it on top of a white image in Nuke
@@BlenderBob ok, only that's the soution for now. won't you get a pixel of black line in comp?
@@jkartz92 If you get a black line it's because you are not premultiplied
with nishita sky do we need HDRI ?
Yes. In the example I gave, it was a night shot with many light sources,
@@BlenderBob ahhh....why nothing is simple in 3d world
@@hamatoshamatos7048 Making a cube is simple. :-)
Ps would u care to share the specs of your workstation?
