Jungle knots are great used them for a while but trc went the extra mile and added the storage pouches, so of course had to get them and never looked back 😉
Yeah the pouches are really cool, make everything neat and tidy.
Awesome message… wish you & Tref would’ve stayed longer but I know you have a young family and a job! Keep up the good vibes! 💞
We'll do a propper overnighter in couple of days :) Looking forward to it, it's been a while.
I so respect your honesty.
Thank you :)
Single use is really annoying. I try to do research to find products that last. I have a TV I bought in 1983 & it still works great. I haven't bought garbage bags for over 3 decades.
I seriously applaud the Ocean Cleanup Project.
Thank you for setting a great example.
That's step and beyond from what I do, bet it took some adjusting to be able to do that? Thanks!
I really like the Jungle Knots
They're a cool item defenitely.
Excellent videos buddy, my grandmother is from Croatia too but she immigrated to Argentina during the 2nd world war. Greetings from Argentina 🇦🇷. Thanks for sharing
Thanks! Oh, say hi to grandma :)
they are a blessing, everyone needs them well done (again) trcoutdoors
I never actually used them before. You get accustomed to doing things a certain way and never think about is there a better way.
The hammock looks so comfortable. Have a great adventure. I cheer for you😊👍
It is :) Bought it recently, my old one was beginning to fall apart.
Literally just made me a long line jungle knots before I came across your video. Nice product
I'm impressed on set up time usually takes me about 2-3 minutes to set up my tarp. But, I love my Quick deployment Ridgeline it's outstanding AF! And can always be tightened at any point in time.
Yeah it's really quick to set up and take down. Do you use whoopie slings for it or?
I use slings for my hammock but I tie off with 1800 lb mule tape. Lightweight and I can carry 100 foot of it nice and packable.
Mule tape? Man, that's really thinking out of the box. We don't really have it here as something "any store has" so never crossed my mind.
Loved the quick tarp setup. First time I hearing about jungle knots. Nice! 👍
Perfect coffee. 2and a half spoons 🤠✌️🇱🇹
We say it's "strong enough to wake a dead horse" :D
@@frostys_bushcraft I drink the same, but it only raise my hearth rate, not effective against waking up lol 🤣
There you are!😀
Was gone a while :)
Great video, Frosty! I have never seen jungle knots before but they seem pretty damn nice and quick as you showed. Very cool! Also satisfying how snugly that coffee tin fit in that mug. 😄
I heard about them but never actually used them before and now I'm really happy I did. Really clever products.
looks like a good product
Simple and realiable, really like it.
I love this content, keep up the good work man👍
Thanks. I'll do that!
Always love watching your videos. Entertaining, informative and well done. Thanks, keep it up.
Thanks James! Glad you like them.
Cool setup option 👍🏻 thanks for sharing!
Any time :) Thanks!
Odlična stvar. Brzo, jednostavno i lagano.
Znaci vrganji su poceli. Eto mene gore odmah 👍😉
Ima ih 'ko Rusa! Ali i ljudi, suma je autoput :/
@@frostys_bushcraft a da, u to ne sumnjam, ljudi danas nema di nema.
Great video!
Thanks Angela!
That 'Frosty' patch is great. Great video, too.
I cant believe people are even commenting about how fast or slow Tref eats. Like wtf people, get a life. Also.... I am using the jungle knots next week on my solo paddling trip. Also, metal is the way to go. Preferably, heavy. Like Nine Inch Nails or Metallica. Thanks for the video!!!
Hahahah :) I've been a metalhead since forever, Lamb Of God, Hatebreed. Pantera, Down, BLS, Texas Hippie Coalition and stuff like that.
@@frostys_bushcraft
LOL, I always thought you were a mellow head. Wink wink
Great video frosty 😎
Thanks Marti!
Would like to see the DIY machine in your garage which is producing the pressed coffee food for Tref ;-). Great Vid*
Hahaha like he needs coffee to be hyped :)
@@frostys_bushcraft
Agree... That dog's got way more energy...
Does NOT NEED coffee at all !
Those pouches should make it more convenient to store the various lines without getting tangled up, although I just roll each of them up and tie them off with clove hitches.
They come in really handy and got that cool effect :)
When scraping the birch bark, you don't need to use your blade. The square edge of a 90° spine works fine. Without dulling your blade. The same way you do with the fero rod.
I usually do that, I also scrape some really fine wood shavings with the back of the knife. I'm actually trying to see the practical difference in couple of knife steels I use so I'm using the blade for everything.
Have you ever done a "geardump"? Would be interesting to see what items you carry, and why.
Not A geardump but I have a bunch of videos where I show or talk about some stuff I use.
Cheers!
Cheers to you too!
Is there a way to know which mushrooms in the wild are safe to eat?
Plenty of ways but the safest one is to find someone who knows them and learn from him. They can be tricky, lots of similar looking ones.
Get a good book on outdoor mushrooms from a book dealer,
that has color photos/drawings of them...
Be careful when you pick them (use gloves) & check them
against the illustration BEFORE eating them !
Great video, Brother !!!
Are those jungle knot lines made out of braided micro line, or braided bank line ?
Keep up the great work !!!
Thanks! It's braided bank line so it's got a bit of stretch to it, good thing in this case.
@@frostys_bushcraft, Thank you, Brother !!!
Jinkuyia !!! (Sorry if I spelled it wrong)
Love the Jungle Knot.
Where did you get the buy line pockets for your tarp?
What are they called?
Do you have a video showing them?
All the best.
Clive.
🤠
Hello Frosty, unfortunately I didn't really understand the Jungle Knots. It would be nice if you could explain that more clearly. As for eating Tref, you found a good solution. That way he won't eat too greedily (which could also cause problems with his stomach) and won't get fat. Greetings from Germany, Selfmade. 👍
Thanks! Sorry for not showing it better, it's so simple that I literally forgot to film some things. Basically it's two strands of rope with knots every 4" and you tie it by feeding a knot between the strands. The tension keeps the strands tight and they hold the knot in place.
@@frostys_bushcraft Thank you for your attempt to explain, but I still don't really get it. Excuse me.
@@selfmade6142
Frosty wrapped the double line around the tree...
The line has the knots on the ends for about 18"...
You take the double rope end which has a large knot on the end
& stick it through the rope's twin parts which are under tension
The twin rope will not let the large end knot pass between... you see ?
@@frostys_bushcraft
FROSTY... Here's an idea for you about the jungle tie-offs !
Take a 1 1/2 meter long, 6.5 mm nylon cord...
( 4 ft long, 1/4 inch thick )... Melt and press the ends together so they won't fray apart...BTW
You stretch the cord out on the floor @ home ... You then thread a large (6cm) metal washer on the rope so it's going through the washer's hole & pull both cords until each line is equal again... this makes a loop at the side of the washer, where you put a large ziptie to make it tight against the side of the washer & then use more large black zipties to fasten the 2 ropes together starting with the loop end...
you put a ziptie every 14-16cm apart, making sure they are very tight... You can then put the washer (after getting it around the tree) through the middle of the twin ropes just in front of one of the zipties and use a wire hook/stick through the washer hole to make sure it stays locked in place... you understand ?
The washer acts like a huge knot, but it will easily slip through the ropes when they are stretched out & stay in place !
You can also use the washer as a hooking point for other ropes using wire hooks !
The zipties make much tighter knots than the ropes by themselves.
Or I can just make knots on a rope :D That's a classic example of everthinking simple things, I do that a lot myself.
Brilliant video I really like quick set ups. Please tell me what do you think of the dd hammock because I am thinking about buying one cheers 🍻my friend 💪🏴👍
Thanks Paul! Well, I have two DD's and couple others and I prefer DD's. This is the Frontline model and it's the "whole package" with double layers and a bug net. Only thing I don't like, and the same goes for all others I have, is that they come with really bulky and heavy cordage. I replaced mine with whoopie slings.
@@frostys_bushcraft Thanks for the advice👍 yes I totally agree I don’t like bulky tree straps you can definitely lose weight by swapping these items out. I will checkout the DD frontline hammock thanks again my friend for your advice 🍺🍺
It's a but bulky but I'd say it's "good weight" ie. it's like that for practical reasons.
Hi!
How many liters of water do you carry for 24 hours when there is no snow?
Thank you!
Oh, that depends where I'm going. If there's a stream or water in walking distance I usually take just 2L but if there's no water nearby at least double that. I can do without much water but I have to carry extra for my dog, he runs a lot and drinks a lot - probably more than I do.
Kren wak
I'm sorry I really don't get it.
Sure wish someone would put some sort of indication of what country that tarp was from🤔
The Jungle knots are from UK, the tarp... probably China.
4:34 how the hell you can drink such a strong coffee?? No milk no sugar? :O
I love coffee "that can wake up a dead horse" :) Nah, just black :)
where did you buy the guy line pouches from please

FROSTY...
An odd question for you !
Have you ever accidentally left a camera
phone out in the woods somewhere after filming 'a walk past' shot... and you had trouble remembering just where you were at... 🤦🤦🤦
& where you had put it ?? 🤔🤔🤬🤬🤬😂🤣
Yup, couple of times. In this video actually, I went searching for a hazel branch and left my camera resting on a tree.... couldn't find for a bit, was starting to get that sweaty brow :)
@@frostys_bushcraft
You will laugh at this then... I typed my question out BEFORE I watched the video...
then you almost made me wonder if you read my mind when you almost left the camera
behind at the end of the video! 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
I often end my videos on a funny note, many times with "forgot my camera" as others to that dramatic outro with epic music so it's a small bonus to people who watch till the end :)
what is your hammock?...thank you
It's the DD Hammocks Frontline model :)
@@frostys_bushcraft THANK YOU SO MUCH
Any time!
The metal containers are worth the little extra weight. I hate plastic. Like you said it's everywhere you go. Camp on brother!🏕️🪓🪵🔥🥩
I think so too. I keep finding trash in the craziest possible places. Found car tires on tip of a hill with no roads of any kind for almost a mile and hals, still don't understand HOW.
@@frostys_bushcraft It's like that here too. Find things and wonder how they got that trash to that place... Sound as though someone was determined.
