Thank you so much for that demonstration. No frill, no buzz words, just clear information with superb photography. Such work does not just happen it takes many hours of planning, well done and thank you again

Jungle cord and shoulderstrap pad (Tree protection) round tree.
Soft shackle that knots into JC.
Continuous loop ridgeline through SS, split over and under tarp, only passes through centre tape on top.
CR line has inline prussiks to allow tensioning and adjustment for both square and diag pitches, set underneath for ease and comfort of use.
Corner tapes have a small toggle permanently attached that hooks to prussik loops on top line only, allowing tensioning/sag adjustment.
I made the CRL at just over 4.2m which is the diagonal span.
Internal portion of the CRL allows hanging of items above hammock,
Which also hangs off the J Cords 👍
Cracking video on a brilliant tool.

Toggle on one end, helps so much when attaching to tarp etc, or to prevent knots slipping during erecting

I would stick a stick in there to keep the tension, then remove it once the other end is secure . Or keep a toggle on the ends or at least one end. Great demo.

I cant remember where or who taught me jungle knots but i use them with my little 5'x7' nylon tarp and they work great.

Great knot for non-loadbearing solutions, with 4 cautions: 1. Putting a knot in a cord weakens it. I'm not saying using many knots has a multiplier effect but it can't be good. 2. It shortens the cord greatly if you need to conserve. 3. It's trouble to untie if you're forced to for another application. 4. It could discourage the lazy from learning the knots which it replaces, which might not be beneficial down the line. Nonetheless, very worthwhile video. Love your channel!

I think it is a clever thing I will give a go. I know my knots and I think any weakening would have to be an issue only after prolonged exposure to sunlight and rain for weeks on end. Having said that, all your points are valid.

No wonder the army use them quick and simple, especially when you're tired and hungry you don't want to have to be thinking what knots to use which can go wrong.

I have just discovered your channel, excellent well done videos !
I never used bungees after basic training as I found them limiting , take up more space and are also heavier.
Paracord is much better, lighter and more versatile.

Appreciate the video pal but I prefer the guy line hitch. If you know any knots that can be tied with mittens or injured fingers I’d be interested.

Try the Siberian Hitch (also called the Evenk knot)

There's a one-armed guy who hammocks and I thought the same, learn how to cope in adverse conditions just in case of injury.
Currently learning to be righthanded lol.
Had a quick scan but can't find his videos sorry.

Carabiner the end at the tarp. Lightweight no knots.
