Yeah, I think, he is disappointed. He didn't have to crush his corner stone. With the plan he had, Sunday wouldn't have looked into the bag to search for it, since he believed to find the decoy and the real stone. And Aventurine surely knew the other cornerstones will kill him for crushing it. It should be a capital offense. But Diamond is a F*ing psycho and he wants to make it obvious for Aventurine: as a property of the IPC, he has no freedom - not even to choose his own death. But I think, this will give him the motivation to destroy the IPC (as there is really no other way out).

To me it feels like Kakavashe/Aventurine luck doing its twisted thing once again. Making him win big against all odds while at the same time screwing him over in other ways. Like you said Aventurine definitely wanted to escape. He was willing to risk everything for the Penacony scheme, knowing it could end with his real death. (Another kind of freedom in that.) Being reinstated as one of the stone hearts is a huge win from an outside perspective. All the power and money and prestige. But there’s the cruelty of his luck for the shackles are back as well. After all he went through he’s not free. Aventurine face isn’t a face of triumph when the repaired corner stone is returned to him. (Story-wise I’m selfishly very happy if we get to see more of him.)

Hoyo has had a Consistent Trend with the Ten Stonehearts of the Interastral Peace Corporation's Strategic Investment Department to have The Color Palettes of the Colors Rarely seen in the Gemstone they are referred to as while the Cornerstone itself is what we normally think of with Their Respective Gemstones. Because, Aventurine, Obsidian, Pearl and Maybe even Agate don't have any Rarely Seen Colors, That's why they are Just Varying Shades of Green, Black/Purple/Midnight Blue, White and Red Respectively. Topaz and Jade have Different Colors aside from the Warm Yellow and Dark Green Colors like Their Respective Cornerstones. With this Knowledge, I was able to Predict that Opal would have the Color Palette of a Brazilian Opal, The Rarest and Most Brilliant of all Opals; However, Because the Two Colors that Pop out at you are the Varying Shades of Blue and Pink, I then went down the Wrong path and Unfortunately I incorrectly Assumed that March 7th was a Plant for the IPC to keep tabs on the Astral Express. I have this running theory, that the large dangling earring that we see aventurine often wearing, is the pendant of his sister’s/mother’s necklace. it just is so out of place with the rest of his chic attire. Dangling elements and soft forms indicate more of a bohemian or naturalist element, and none of the other gems cut into his normal outfit that that style is the rest are all faucet edged

to clarify the votes lmao. There's the 10 + Diamond, making 11 with Cornerstones. However, Diamond typically lets the other 10 handle things themselves, so he doesn't really count and wasn't present. Aventurine obviously votes for himself to stay and it reached a 4 v 4 in the votes (8), 1 remained neutral (9), then Opal broke the tie in Aventurine's favor (10), so there's the 10. However, should the neutral one have made a choice and it ended up with a 5 v 5 tie, then Diamond's opinion (which I believe Opal? conveyed when the votes were fully cast) was that Aventurine stayed. Hope that helps :)

Diamond doesn't count towards the 10 cornerstones. There was only 9 votes. It was 5 v 4 in favor of letting Aventurine stay in the cornerstones.
