Here is recommendation of someone with 20 years on board: Ride your board downhill, start little and bend your knees in the curves, feeeeel the curve and the bend, flex your knees, raise your arms up for balance. Ride fast in difficult terrain, bend your knees and raise arms, go into curves and ride through with speed. This will get you closer to your board and your balance will progress. When learning tricks: Bend your knees and raise your arms up while/before popping. Do not bend your back too much and do not lower your head too much, try staying centered, bending knees will help. Have fun.
The concrete where i live is so fucked and i have hard wheels so i used to always drive 20 minutes away to a place where there was allot of soft concrete, i indeed reccomened what you have said. I eventually bought a little softer wheels (94A and i used tyo have 102A) if i would go streetskating, also with a seperate pair of bearings so i can swap it easy. I still prefer 102A Wheels tho for skateparks, i ke slippery wheels :)
Marianne as someone who went the extra mile to get better at skating. I skated in difficult terrain, crack on roads and having to force Ollie over things while riding the streets. Skating at night in the streets also helped , things are more intense at night time and make you really focus on what you are doing on your board. Always trying to do my tricks while going fast to on my board , Ollie’s, popshuv its, 360 shuv it’s , etc. 180s..and so on. Skating long sessions is the only real way to progress , no short cuts
Marianne Yup, you notice from those long sessions you gain tremendous amounts of confidence and better balance on your board. You start to feel your board more and become one with it. It doesn’t happen over night but just continue skating as much as possible to the point , streets start to look like skateparks to you riding through your neighborhood lol. Where everything becomes something to skate on or do a quick line of tricks through

Great progress, well done! I'm not an expert but I used to be a decent skateboarder about ten years ago. The advice I would give to you is to really focus on getting your ollie perfect before moving to other tricks. I did what you have done and learned a lot of tricks fast but they really didn't have any form. When I started to skate with better people I essentially realized I had to re-learn everything. The best example in the video is how your heelflip doesn't level out. You need to be making sure you pop right at the end of your tail and really tucking your knees, even tweaking your back foot. Even a little more speed when trying tricks wouldn't be bad. I always found going slower to be more hindering then helping. Hope this helps, keep up the great work :)

Love this video man. I wish I had progression videos to show my rise also. It brings me back to the days of sitting on my gravel road one my 1980's Fat Boy, just practicing my Ollie from sun up to sun down. When I first landed one it was no more then 1/2" off the ground but that was it for me I was hooked. I later got signed by my Local Board shop, "PRO Skate" and started riding for them. I have been teaching kids to ride for awhile now but their motivation gets drained and it's easy to say "I used have a hard time too guys, you'll get it" lol but they look at you like "Whatever dude you been good your whole life" 🙄 ... So I decide to show some videos to them but all you can find is Pro's either killing it and landing the perfect Trick or Bailing so fucking hard that it would make these kids drop their board for good lol... I would like to show them your video. I find it very inspiring and you show great progression. I would like to see more of these types of Videos. Good job man, like I said your killing it now from what I see. That feeling you get when you finally land the trick you have been killing yourself to land, you can't get that feeling from anything else. Thanks for posting! ... Skate Safe Man
Good shit homie, I been skating for years. You forget how hard the beginning is cause it is by far the hardest part, well done dude hope ya still skating.
I can credit 4 broken fingers, shattered wrist and a splintered elbow to the Elusive "Kick Flip" but in my opinion that is the move to let you know your a "Skater"
Lol no, i think it gets way more fun when you manage to do cool tricks and be able to ride around, cause pushing like a baby and landing just some ollies is not fun AT ALL. That's why most people quit after a very short time, it can be very frustrating

Great video. I can see the progress each month. I quit riding when I was 17. I just got a new board and I'm 46 now. Using it to ride from my job's parking garage into the office. I'm loving it and am working on getting my ollie back, in the dark, once my kids are in bed. I'll get there. Keep it up!
That’s cool, I started skating after buying a cruiser board when my bike was stolen. Or actually I’m starting now. I’m binging all sorts of skate vids online and I got a board today. I’ve had a small plastic cruiser board for a few weeks now.

This has helped me so far throughout my skateboarding. Just repeat this to yourself before performing a trick, “if I fall, I fall. I’ll just dust it off that’s it.” That’s helped me so much you guys don’t understand.
You progressed alot. The best part of skating is figuring out a trick, and the moment it clicks in your head how to do it. The beginning is when you learn what every other trick is based upon. Keep it up and enjoy the fails.

That's what I was thinking. Learning tricks without moving will mess up your whole balance. Flow into the pop down then up in a smooth motion. Also a lot of your cleaner tricks your back foot is farther forward so you're not pushing the board out.
Become A Skater style develops over time. You’re doing a great job for a year. Don’t be afraid to try every trick in all 4 positions. Regular, switch, nollie, fakie. One try of each and rotate it through. Don’t spend an entire session on just one stance

I live in a place where the only skatepark is not suitable for freestyle. It's mainly a half pipe ramp, that's why most skaters ride at the city's main park and people always complain about them so they can only be there for less than an hour before they get in trouble. And the worst of all... I'm not even a skater! XD I've been thinking about getting a board and learn but the thing about not having a place to skate, plus my age (31yo) and my knees (hurt by my many years as a goalkeeper and the last 4 years practicing martial arts) always make me think it twice :,(
Nice video of progression mate, your coming along nicely, ive been on and off the board for over 20 years and can only really say with few points of help. 1. In the first few months to 2-3 years, tighter trucks will be your life saver, you will learn faster without wheel bite. 2. Ride everywhere you go to get that balance and steady feet, even just around the corner to the shop. 3. Don't be afraid to put those feet back on and commit, skateboarding isn't complete without failure and success, in the first couple years you will fail more then you succeed. but in the end your skill will grow and you will get better, just work at your own pace and keep going.
I really have to work on my stance and it kinda feels like I won’t be able to make it, but seeing you skate is a way of seeing it from a better perspective.
@@thatwhitekid555 it depends how many hours per day you skate, I also remember being able to do as many tricks as him in just a few months. But I was 15 with nothing to do but school. He's probably in his 23-25 and growing older means you have less hours to spend for your hobbies and more concern about your health (that's why of the pads, he wants to skate without caring about getting injured). As long as he's having fun he's a great skater, that's what I think! Keep it up
Fluidity and balance are the most important and fundamental things to Learn when skateboarding. Many people want to Learn tricks straight away. Learn to walk before you can run. 🤘
Right when I needed this. Just bout a board yesterday. Today was such a disappointing day on the board. Couldn't land a Ollie unless I had my wheels stuck I'm cracks. (Bad Ballance) But this gives me much hope

26 and started this week, use to skate for 6 years dropped it when I was about 16, kept a longboard around so not entirely lost but the balance of doing tricks is totally lost. Just starting beginning tricks and just riding different terrain until I’m happy with my beginner tech, then kick flips and heel flips, grinds, drop ins, will come. Great motivation seeing this, such a good way to exercise brain and body.
no because loose trucks will help you land better if you land kinda off centers so your board will go with easier instead of hardly turning when your leaning a ton. \
Dang dude just needed this, I've rode skateboard [cruiser/long] for about a year but I'm gonna be getting my first Vert board (or popsicle style lmao) today, hopefully I can stay determined and become at least somewhat decent at skateboarding
I just started skating again after taking a huge wipeout off of a half pipe when i was a kid. I know nothing about street so i am literally starting from square 1. It is so frustrating. This video makes me feel like im not alone. Thanks for posting!
Been sk8ting for almost a month and I've been focusing on getting comfortable with being on the board and going at an ok speed. This has inspired me to try stupid shit that I probably cant do (going down ramps and all that)
You were trying a bit too hard for my taste. 10-11 month in and your front foot is still too far out while driving... Get it right behind the first two front screws not over or above. My tip for other beginners: learn how to drive properly on every terrain you want to skate on, get confident with it. Then learn how to Ollie, Perfect it...and THEN progress in other tricks. Well, this is just my two cents. No offense.
I just started to learn ollie, and iv'e everything you said in this comment. And I have been skating 1 and a half year, but i haven't seen this before now, when im writing this.
Hey, im started to skate almost a year ago and left, because i didn't have a mate or friends to skate, but i look to you and you can learn without that, thanks for the motivation! Keep it up!
never learn tricks while standing because it is pointless. always learn in motion :) btw you should learn how to better ride a skateboard. I mean you don't look too comfortable on board. go for some ride and feel the board :) good luck!

When the rock music starts, you know the sht is going down
Hey, that is some crazy progression. Thanks for sharing with us. Keep skating man.
Just think where youll be in another year! Skateboarding is so gratifying, once you land a trick for the first time you feel great!
this gives me hope
I really have to work on my stance and it kinda feels like I won’t be able to make it, but seeing you skate is a way of seeing it from a better perspective.
10:30 welcum to da hydraulic press channel. Aaaaand here we go.
Love seeing the pads dude keep them on forever and a helmet
Your insane but bend you knees more
No hate at ALL.
Thanks for the likes 👍
Joe24 Miro 107 he is terrible
Mason no hes really good
Joe24 Miro 107 not really I’ve been riding for a week and can do just as many tricks
@@thatwhitekid555 there's always that one person. 😂
(Bad Ballance)
But this gives me much hope
Bryce Pace just bend your knees and ride! Balance and comfort will come automatically if you ride enough :)
Nice choice of music bro! I loved the solo!
Ohhhhh le skatepark d’Aix !!! J’y ai tellement squatté !!
Dude! Amazing progression and really impressive progress on the ollies, and it was really cool to see the shuv-its and the heelflips. Way to go man! I hope you keep skating because that was awesome! You have earned yet another sub
Awesome mate keep going
Dude, well done! The beginning part is really difficult. I saw many give up skateboard at this stage. Keep up with the really good works!
Is it just me or has anyone else never ridden with knee pads
Noah . Sk8 no pads no helmet.
Yeah never but it's smart thing to do considering how often I hurt my knees
26 and started this week, use to skate for 6 years dropped it when I was about 16, kept a longboard around so not entirely lost but the balance of doing tricks is totally lost. Just starting beginning tricks and just riding different terrain until I’m happy with my beginner tech, then kick flips and heel flips, grinds, drop ins, will come. Great motivation seeing this, such a good way to exercise brain and body.
So many cool locations. Caught myself cheering you everytine you landed something new haha
skating is alot faster to progress at if you have someone there to teach you how to do tricks and what you're doing wrong
those heelflips were sick! and those mega ollies too! inspiring . thanks dude
Thanks dude ! I'm glad to hear that video was inspiring to you !

Just keep going. I'm 41 and skated today. Sk8 or DiE.

Yess💪 that was very good to watch you progressed so much 🤟👍
Yes Marseille 🤙
Nice vid tho, keep up the good work, you’re doing great
Kickflip is more easy that heelflip but it's a very good progession
Congratulation men !!
I mean not necessarily cuz i see it that ur either a kickflip person or heelflip person
I love how the one dude is all padded. Without a helmet.
Tight Your trucks little bit to make easier to do tricks And land them
its easier to land tricks with looser trucks because you can lean at of a trick. kind of hard to explain
You're right ! Since the video I tighted trucks a bit.
no because loose trucks will help you land better if you land kinda off centers so your board will go with easier instead of hardly turning when your leaning a ton.

7:51 wish i had that in my park
Wish i had a park :')
You're progressing nicely. Keep it up man! Awesome to see a new dedicated skater.
2:56, bro I really die !!!!!🤣🤣🤣
Are you ok?
Been sk8ting for almost a month and I've been focusing on getting comfortable with being on the board and going at an ok speed. This has inspired me to try stupid shit that I probably cant do (going down ramps and all that)

So why aren’t you.

The helmet

Heureux que cette vidéo te motive ! Force à toi !
You were trying a bit too hard for my taste. 10-11 month in and your front foot is still too far out while driving... Get it right behind the first two front screws not over or above.
My tip for other beginners: learn how to drive properly on every terrain you want to skate on, get confident with it.
Then learn how to Ollie,
Perfect it...and THEN progress in other tricks.
Keep it up!
Same, bro... but 6 years ago for me... he motivated me too
lmao i had the same hot wheels board when i was 13
Thank u for inspiring any beginner just like me.
never learn tricks while standing because it is pointless. always learn in motion :) btw you should learn how to better ride a skateboard. I mean you don't look too comfortable on board. go for some ride and feel the board :) good luck!
You know i was thinking the same thing. But i didn't wanna sound like an Asshole since hes better in every other way than me
Thats wrong. There are tricks that are better learned standing still. Kickfl and heelflip being two
@@takitogr practise standing - learn in motion :D
Thanks bro... Video reality. Nice!
