- These decorative MDF slatted acoustic felt backed panels are very easy to fit. In this video I will show you how to cut angles, cut out for light switches and cut out for plug sockets, which tools to use for long cuts and which Bosch multi tool to use for cut outs and awkward shapes.
I will also show you how to attach them to the wall using black plasterboard screws.

These felt backed slatted panels are sometimes called naturewall panels or wood veneer hub panels but we bought ours from woodupp.co.uk and we are very pleased with them. They are simply veneered MDF slats which have been stuck onto some felt backing which also gives the panels great acoustic qualities too. They are very easy to DIY fit the acoustic slatted panels using the right tools and the correct screws. - Навчання та стиль
Great video, thanks for sharing!
Such a great effect
Thank you
I have a 100 yr old home with plaster ceilings except in master bedroom with some kind of particle board. I have extra plywood so could have as new base for ceiling. I had been thinking of faux ceiling panels, mdf to look like cottage tongue and groove. A local craigslist seller has some that would cover my ceiling. Was not sure if there are holes the hole length of the panels. I can imagine that it would be a beautiful ceiling in an old house. :)
Very nice
Thank you
Many thanks for video, just concerned getting an accurate measurements for sockets 😮 as im mounting behind tv😊
You're welcome! Just take your time and measure twice cut once!
Thank you for this very useful video. Just to be sure, the screws were drilled into the wall just like that? As in without prior anchors?
We have plasterboard walls and I just used plasterboard screws with no plugs. It is only to stop the panel falling away from the wall as the weight of it is supported by the skirting boards.
@@newbuildtohome ahh okay. Thank you for your reply! It was very helpful 😊
can these be screwed into plasterboard s without any fixings if so what scres should i use Thank
I just used normal plasterboard screws as the panel is resting on the skirting and the screws are just to stop the panel falling away from the wall. The panels are still up after several months and haven’t moved at all.
Great vid putting mine up this weekend can you remember length of screws?! 25mm long enough?
I can’t remember what length I used but 25mm should be fine.
How have you found the wall panel has held up on the radiator wall? I want to put panelling behind my radiator to hide bad plasterwork but worried the heat will warp it or it's not safe to have them behind radiators. Never seen these put behind radiators before
It has been absolutely fine, no warping at all.
Could you put a link on for the bosch multi tool you used, thanks?
Sorry, I forgot to add it. I have put it in now. Thanks.
@@newbuildtohome thank you!
Where did you buy your panels from?
woodupp.co.uk/
Well that looked easy . Lol 😂. Great job
Thanks 👍
Hi, am i able to hire you to do mine please?
I would love to do yours but unfortunately I just don't have the time😆
Came here expecting to see you build a MDF wall panel...
Sorry, I didn't mean to mislead
If my Mrs walked in and seen me cutting that on her coffee table above the carpet, I wouldn't have to finish the panelling... The house would be up for sell and half of all my assets would be gone before I even got the vacuum out.
😆😆
Make sure to do your legal work in advance with her then cut away on the coffee table….I was impressed he cut that straight with a hand saw. Found an excuse to buy a new Bosch saw !
@@kenkossoudji2747 prenup before you sweep up 😅
0:48 Is Harry Potter in that closet!?
🤣🤣
130 a panel...wow
They are not cheap but they are worth it.
I thought this was a DIY going to show how to make these yourself….
Sorry, I didn't mean to mislead
You saved e 3 minutes thanks
