They will get up every day at 5am to begin their workout before they go to training with the club and then come back home in the evening and do even more training etc, and they'll never take a day off, and they'll never have a cheat meal etc. You need an incredible amount to drive to get up every morning and do that, every day for 20+ years. That's why it's so difficult to be great. Having competitiveness and drive on the pitch is useless on its own, you need it on the training pitch every day of your life too. And Marta has that. Ronaldinho didn't, and that isn't a judgement on his character or anything. 99.99% of people aren't like that. He just wanted to live a happy life, and fair play to him, that's fair enough really, he already had more money than he could ever spend anyway so he just wanted to live a happy life, and that's the most important thing, not a silly game. But yeah that's the difference. Marta never gave up like that. That's why she's still around at this advanced age of 37, and still is a great player. And she completely revolutionised women's football too.
