I have the exact same problem with my 2006 Saab 93 Areo V6 Turbo!!! Can't figure it out for nothing! But mine has got to where it won't start at all... Have you found the problem?
the 2008 saab 9-3 aero v6 is better, and you wont have these issues. If you like saab and like the v6 performance over the 4 cylinder get the 08/09 aero
I think what he means, although I don't believe it applies here, is that by turning the key a few times you can advance the starter from a possible dead spot or move the flywheel slightly to find unworn teeth for the starter to grab, we used to call this key cycling, allow I have no idea why. Is you car having this same problem, I may have an idea you could try.
