(UPDATE: To clarify, I LOVE her content, just not the commercials. It seems out of balance and that the commercials are more of her videos now than the content.)
Just wanted to throw it out there. I know this is on a negative note, which is not normally my style. However, I used to love to watch your videos. Lately though, it seems more like I'm watching very long commercials. Started feeling that way a bit before your Italy trip and the trip really made me start to slow down here. Not sure if this is anyone else's "feel" but I know that constructive criticism is usually welcomed. Hope this becomes a consideration for future videos. "on the fence here" :/
I feel the same too! Her videos are getting boring and more about cooking than a homestead channel.
There's very little outdoor stuff going on in winter.
I agree, she may be heading in a different direction with her channel though. I love the raw farm videos about cooking and life, unedited almost. I don't like the perfection that seems to be taking over youtube videos.
Eh- it’s her channel I guess. I think it’s still fabulous. She chooses to share her life and loves and we get to choose to watch in gratitude or not. Perfect.
I have to jump in and say that I’ve recently discovered this channel and absolutely love the style and content of the newer videos - I just wish there was more!! I find homesteading nice but unrealistic for me, but from scratch cooking and cozy vibes is just where I want to be!!
I really like your video! Thanks for sharing!! Where do you buy your sugar? Also Where can I get the measurements for the recipe? Thank you!! ✨✨
Love the kitchen updates ! And Shaye, that colour you're wearing looks so beautiful on you.
Hello from Snoqualmie Valley! Stunning stove!!! I’d have bought your old one!! 😁 for those who are just getting to know you should start from the beginning to really appreciate this video, much prayers, sweat, and labor of love have gone into your business
Your kitchen is so lovely and your new range is stunning. I have a Lacanche Chagney and I love her. She is a showstopper but she is also a workhorse. And my experience with Art Culinaire was beyond impressive and special. I can not recommend them enough.
This was a wonderful update on all the work that you have done to get your home kitchen into the vision that you have had for it. Also the patience to get there. Love everything you all have done ❤ Thank you very much.
I have made this exact cake before and it is scrumptious. But I love cardamomo and not everybody does. I added nuts in mine. It’s a very special cake and more expensive but so worth it.
You do know that powdered sugar is regular sugar ?
I still have questions? Why did you choose the Lancanche range in the first place? Do they recommend someone to install it? How evenly does it cook?
Yum!!! I'll be making this cake soon. Your "office" is a beautiful source of inspiration. Loved this video and didn't want it to end.
White marble should not be installed where heavy-duty cooking is performed.
I love the thought that you have given to your kitchen setup.
Absolutely love your kitchen and home. Such a beautiful space for you and your family!!! Wishing you all the best! Thank you for sharing Shaye❤️
Your kitchen is fabulous! Olive oil in baked goods is delicious and so moist; love using some fresh zest in a lot of our cooking and baking. Thanks for the inspiration. Julie 🌷
Hey Shaye, love the kitchen updates!! Looks gorgeous 😍. We are about to redo our countertops and replace appliances. We struggle choosing the right material for the counters. I would love to go with quartz stone (or Dekton) since it is the best and most durable material out there right now. But the costs are insane! So marble is equally as beautiful, or even more so if you ask me but at a fraction of the cost. Quartz is about 400€ to 800€/sqm. and marble just 50€ to 160€. But the kitchen people we asked did not recommend it for kitchen counters because it is not supposed to be as durable. More easily stained, scratches more, stuff can seep into it. But now I see you use it and man you use your kitchen A LOT 😅. So how is it going with the marble? What's your experience so far? I really really love marble counters but am afraid, with our 3 kids especially, it will not last... Love, Franzi from Germany ❤.
Your little kitchen is looking more and more posh!
Does the location of the stove and the under counter refrigerator compete with one another? -- working harder to achieve temps?
Making that cake NOW it looks SOOO good!! (I also I LOVE your kitchen!!!!!)
I am Blessed to have a Thermador range. It has star burners for even heating and the oven racks glide in and out! Every time I bake, I thank God for such a gift!
I finally bought my first vintage copper saucepan the other day (directly inspired by you, of course) and I'm in love with it! Thank you for sharing your kitchen with us ✨
Where did you buy it? I want one so bad 😊
@@staceyvroman9936 An antique shop in denver for only $25! I was shocked. They're definitely more expensive online in a curated shop, so check brick and mortar vintage / antique stores first.
ABSOLUTELY Love your kitchen and that STOVE WOW! My heart is overjoyed that you have shared your home with us. SHARED TO THE BURGH!
Love a new appliance !! I remember when I got my first front load washer I sat and watched the entire cycle lol 😆
Me too! My husband said I was crazy lol
@@jenniferwagoner3134 well then we both are lol
I retin copper pans on the west coast. I’d love to do them for you!
That stove is such a dream stove! It looks so great in your kitchen :)
Is your lacanche white or chantilly?
I love your kitchen, and that cake looks delicious!
I wanted the cake recipe but I have to subscribe and pay?! Wow.
That stove is a beauty! I love your kitchen and all your cooking lessons. The cake looks fantastic!
Hi Shaye Just tried this cake recipe used Garam masala because I did not have cardamom delicious!! Love the texture will definitely be making this again. Congratulations on your new stove. Thank you for all your wonderful videos. Have been re-watching the ones of your trip to Italy.
Love the stove! It’s beautiful!
Oh no! What happened to your magical, beautiful tiles behind your old stove?!? I hope you will be able to find a place for them. That range is amazing!
I’m pretty sure those tiles were behind that little pot belly stove over in the corner, I don’t think she showed that area of the kitchen in this video. I think it was just wallpaper behind the Lacanche before they put the backsplash in.
@@Julia29853 nope. They were over the old stove with the copper pots hanging on top of them.
I remember them over the stove.
Hello! Just wondering whether you ever use the butcher block section of your bench as a chopping board? And if so, how do you clean it?
Do you use a microwave?
Always in love with your beautiful kitchen. The Lacanche range is a dream ❤.
Have always enjoyed seeing your cozy kitchen! And what brand of olive oil for your cake?
I guess its the stove
In this Recipe...and Others...It sounds like you are saying you use...I- Corn Flour...? Have never heard of it...and when typed into google...nothing comes up...Is it corn flour..?.a wheat flour..? Your new stove aside from appearing highly functional is very lovely also
Enkorn, is an ancient grain, not modified by humans, has low gluten and high protein
@@amandaburns5949 ( Thank you... )
Where is the receipt??
Does your new stove come with a suctioning vent in the back? I know you have said before that that wasn’t a big priority for you. I love your channel….and your kitchen.
Another recipe I will be trying & STILL making the lemon spagetti!! Everyone loves it
Love that stove -
She had a cooking show on Food Network years ago that I really liked. It was short - lived, though.
I noticed your splash back straight away as I am so used to seeing the most beautiful wallpaper I have ever seen, directly above where you cook on the stove. A good functional and beautiful finish for that area. I can imagine how lovely that cake did taste! Once turned out onto the plate it looked so beautiful. I make a similar cake with oil and grated carrots. I hope to see more of your beautiful kitchen all around the room. Your videos are such a pleasure to watch and I have learnt a lot from your content. God bless you and your family Shaye.
I love the stove!!
You taught me to love cooking and how to create a working kitchen. Thank you. 🩷
That fridge/freezer combo!!! :D :D
a beautiful space made for memories
I love your new range! I've always wondered about using olive oil in cake recipes as opposed to butter. I've stopped using canola and other vegetable oils in cooking/baking. Using butter, the texture of a cake seems to be a bit dense and dry--though I love it in cookies. I wondered if using a dark extra virgin olive oil might impart a strong taste in a cake. Do you use the extra virgin or a light olive oil in baking cakes?
EVOO does impart a strong flavor!! I like it, others dont. Id try light olive oil
Looks beautiful and inviting! 🥰
Beautiful colours! Thank you
Looks great! Do you have a vent for your oven?
Your kitchen looks beautiful! Love the additions! 👏
Well I think it’s beautiful.
OH WUAUUU SO BUEATIFUL STOVE😍
I was just commenting today about how my Ilve has no issues, and if I had bought an "american" range, it would have problems already after 3 years. Worth it to buy quality!
Such a gorgeous stove! And orange and cardamom are a match made in heaven
Thank for sharing!
Beautiful stove & kitchen ❣️ So inspiring!
So beautiful!
Beautiful kitchen!
Can you leave butter out on the counter?
I've been leaving my butter out on the counter for 30+ years.
wow nice video
What brand of rapadura sugar do you use?
As soon as the video started I went 😮NEW Stove! Love it
Counter tops?
Beautiful! Always be you and bake your orange cake the way yall love it !!
That's all I can ever too anyway ;)
I recently made lemon & olive oil cupcakes during a pantry clean-out week and my kids gobbled the dozen of them up in less than 2 days. I also love your kitchen and have dabbled with the idea of an under-counter fridge since coming across this channel awhile ago.
Hello! That sounds delicious. Would you mind sharing the recipe?
How many kids? Around here with 8, that’s just 1 snack lol
@@YeshuaKingMessiah I have 2 teenagers.
I can’t wait to make this cake! My kitchen is always a disaster, but great things come from it! So I guess that’s also an accurate expression of me 😂
🥰✅
😍 🔥
Glad for the thorough range review bc I’ve been considering one for a long time. I had a different brand installed and it has only propane for both ovens and while great for meat…. terrible for bread.
Did I miss where to find the recipe for the cake?It looks delicious.
Looking for that too…
Nope. You have to subscribe and pay a monthly fee to get this recipe. Ridiculous.
I’m 62 years old been baking for 50 years and have never paid for a recipe am not about to start now. Why would you post making a cake and not share the recipe? I love her videos but this is a first…
I do pay for her recipes, but this one is not in there
Where do buy your special flour etc.....t.y. Love ya all.
Beautiful !!!
Hello from England!
Good morning!
Einkorn for the win! My gluten sensitive daughter can have it!! I’m a sucker for cardamom! Thx!
Thank you for sharing!
God Bless you and your Dear Family!😊🌟❤🙏🦋
Hi Christine, I'm new to your channel and so far I love what I've seen. I look forward to viewing all your past videos and the new ones that you will be producing. I'm in the process of building a cottage home in VT and you've give me some great ideas for my new kitchen. On another matter, I want to make some infused EVOO and have a question for you. I have a favorite CA EVOO that I can only buy on line. They also sell infused oils, which are delicious but pricey. Does heating the oil break it down any? I've seen some oils in speciality stores with the herbs left in the bottle. What are your thoughts on that?
Love the range! Probably would have did paneled fridge/freezer drawers so it’s not so much stainless but just my opinion
Kitchen porn! Such a functional kitchen! Love that stove!😊💞
Great video! I would love an in-depth look at your oven too! This is my dream oven. 😊
Shaye I was just wondering where you got your copper cookware?
Thank you for sharing! Where can I find the cake recipe? Thanks.
Absolutely lovely Elliott family!
I noticed it all! Beautiful!
Is there a recipe for this cake ?
Getting too commercialized to suit me anymore. This show used to be better. I've moved on...
You can just…you know…leave. Quietly. No need to announce it. Your opinion isn’t that valuable.
Oh no, your kitchen is starting to look very sterile with these updates. I hope you bring back the cosy, country-cottage kitchen vibe soon.
Lol this comment is literally the antithesis of what's spoken in the first minute "my kitchen might not be perfectly to your taste... but isn't it great that we get to express ourSelves in this way?"
@@BrittLynn That is fine … it’s her kitchen and her style. I just expressed my displeasure. Her rustic cottage style was very unique and added a lot of beauty to the space. I don’t see that now, and hence made it known.
@@supriyasumanth idk if you watched the vid before commenting, but wonder when you noticed, the title of the vid refers to change + she literally takes us thru ‘that time of year’ when it’s the perfect time to deep clean.
@@BrittLynn I expressed my displeasure- just like they do on their podcast. Why are you after me for this? I have complimented her a lot in the past, and will do so in the future too. I just don’t understand you bashing me for a comment. I am not going to respond to you anymore.
They just spent $20k on a _stove_ ... I don't think there's any going back from that. It still has a lot of rustic charm, just upgraded sink and stove areas.
Marble is not recommended for kitchens however those countertops look more like quartz. Functionality in kitchens is important and ranges aren't recommended to be in corners, and always keep in mind that the kitchen triangle rule should be adhered to when designing your kitchen in order to provide sufficient flow throughout.
People want to be in the kitchen helping to cook, doing the dishes, chopping veggies, etc. and that cannot happen in a kitchen that doesn't flow so well. I understand that your kitchen is a remodel and every kitchen has different aspects to it, but these are just some things to keep in mind. I tell you this with love and hope it helps you in your future projects.
That oven is my porn….I’ve been waiting for this video to hit so I could ogle
Also the fluidness and productiveness of a kitchen is just…..my favorite thing
