I imagine he was. I'm an somewhat serious competitive distance runner and I can pretty comfortably maintain a 7 minute mile (4:20 km) pace for much longer than a 5k. And I'm not at all unique. My friends who run in college can pretty comfortably maintain 6:30 pace for the same distances.

As an xc run, i can say that running is one of the mentally and physically hardest things a human can do. Big props to you for staying determined. I went from a 19;59 to a 18;51 3 mile this season and it was verrrry much a mental battle more than a physical battle

Everyone's talking about the pacemaker and other people who helped him along the journey. That's true, those guys deserve a lot of credit, but so does KSI. Without him this whole thing might have not happened. Some people need someone to shit on them, it's what gives them motivation, what makes them stronger.

Some people (I repeat, some) sometimes work better when they're being mocked, kind of like it's a challenge. It really hurt my feelings, but I ended up fixing that problem, and in a weird way, I appreciate what they did.
