  • Finding big amounts of chunky gold in an old culvert pipe! Gold can be found upstream and below but doesnt compare to the hoards of gold nuggets, pickers and fine gold in the culvert riffles!

    I'll be testing the culverts in my area, that's for sure... I'll even use my hand suction tube to clean it out properly..😊

    I have a few culverts I hit on a somewhat regular basis. Yep, they're productive or I would bother. Ya need to clean that out now. One real Gully Washer and it's all going to get blown out.

    Where did you get the pan your using?

    • @911mining
      @911mining  5 років тому

      It's a 3D printed prototype. Not on the market yet we are testing it for a company. We will be doing a review probably within a week. This is the first prototype so the actual pan will have additions.

    Nice shiny I would come back with a sluice box and clean the colvert out complete, Your pan looks like a paint roller pan but seems to work pretty good.

    I would be bringing 5 gallon buckets and collecting it all with a scoop. Then my last bucket would be using a suction pump. Take it all home and process it all. It might take more time but no telling how much you are missing with the method you are using. I have watched so many videos of people panning and using classifiers and have never figured out why anyone who runs a good test pan would leave any material behind. Classifiers are great but when a person classifies and throws off all the bigger rocks also takes the chance of losing bigger nuggets. And only using methods of processing that catch the small stuff means all you're really going to find is the smaller stuff with the possibility of losing micro gold. I'm only going off observation and what seems to me would be the best way to capitalize on the effort for maximum profit. And If you know a spot that seems to be a good producer I would think laying in two or three five to six foot sections of culvert that could be easily removed ,cleaned out and replaced might not be a bad idea either.Just a thought.

    Just my opinion, that gold pan looks painful (figurative) to use. Curious, wouldn't it be more productive to set a sluice on the outlet and sweep the material toward the sluice?
