Watch the video where Steve plays at Les Paul's joint in NYC, Les calls him Stevie Howe, it's wonderful.

Steve is so positive and humble about his talents. Be interesting to know the other guitarist he knew better than Syd Barrett. My friend got a chance to meet Steve in Hamilton Ontario when he was doing gigs with his trio. Said he was a real gentleman and really down to earth. I got to see Yes twice. Once at Buffalo at Rich Stadium with Donovan, J. Geils and Bob Seger. And once in the early 2000's with Dream Theatre opening for them. Amazing musicians and sound they put out. To me it is Rock Classical music on par with Beethoven and J.S. Bach!!!

Steve Howe ( together with Brian May, Jimmy Page, later Andy Summers and The Edge) is one of the guitarists who fueled my musical career. Beyond his flawless techniques, his ideas and his very strange rhythmical sense - sometimes he sounds "outside" the band and suddenly he comes to the "1" of the measure - are simply unique. Of course I like Trevor Rabin work as well, but nobody plays like Steve. He had the privilege of being nurtured by all that psychedelic movement in the 60s, when it was place for every good musician, from Julian Bream to Jimi Hendrix, and music was a thing that were made in group. No DAWs, no samples libraries, no social media, etc.

Rock's greatest guitarist in the 70s and 80s. Possibly the greatest rock guitarist in history.

Steve played guitar with Twink in Tomorrow. Jimi Hendrix would jam with them.

3:34 Can you imagine the confidence in your own abilities it must take to walk on stage with a famous band and to not have a clue about what songs you will be playing.

I always thought the Marquee had higher status than UFO, although UFO was probably more important to the experimental psych scene at the time. And the 'other guitarist who became a victim of LSD' -- I wonder if he's referring to David O'List.
