What I’m going to try is masking a line a few mm away from the chrome bead and lay a few wet coats of PlastiDip & then remove the masking while it’s still wet. That should form a good bond with the ragged PlatiDip and hopefully leave a fairly sharp line...
Plasti dip is a new one on me too, sounds handy for the interior, curious to see how it stands up to being used on an exterior surface. Looking forward to the de-chrome 😉 and the brake calipers which I've also considered painting on my m-sport F11 which are currently plain just like your (think upgrade brakes were an option on later models), keep the content coming!
Maybe spray a bit PlastiDip into a warmed up bowl and use a fine paintbrush for the edges to fix. But actually great idea. The trim borders along the windows are just clipped but I assume you'll spray'em with tape around. Shadow Line- here it comes.. Great job!
Hey, as I recall you bought this as ex-police and I just wondered how you now view that decision. Cam chain failure is always a risk with N47/N57 but otherwise - would you do it again ? Maybe worth a video ?
I've noticed you have a Range Rover L322, I was looking at getting one next year would you recommend the supercharged with the Jaguar engine or a diesel? Fuel economy isn't a worry at all it's just a toy. 👍🤣
Well mine is the 3.6 TDV8 Diesel engine, and I haven’t driven the supercharged. But from what I remember when I was shopping around, the 4.2 V8 isn’t any better than the 3.6 TDV8 really, so the newer 5.0 V8 petrol should be great fun 👍

PlastiDip holds up very well externally - people paint whole cars in it! As long as I’ve applied it properly that is....

Frog tape is great for getting a good line where the paint lines are. Great job nonetheless though, brave man! 🤣

Actually no, because PlastiDip adheres to smooth surfaces (like clear coat) very nicely. With actual paint or primer then you should 👍

You can use a heat gun on your plastics to make them back to black
Yes, that’s a good trick on black trim pieces. I’ve done this with the Range Rover too.

In my opinion the Diesel TDV8 is the best used buy. It’s a twin turbo and responds well to a remap too 👍
Looks good it might not wear well but time will tell. Just clean up the edges with a razor blade.
