- How to make a king size tufted bed frame from scratch!
Items needed:
Loctite Spray Adhesive - Walmart $5.00 I think
Drill - already had
Staple Gun - already had
Electric knife - already had
Hammer - already had
3/4 inch screws and washers - Walmart has them in packs for .98 cents
Mattress topper or Upholstery foam but foam can get a little pricey. Walmart Cal King Size $29.99

Mattress topper was not enough foam so I also bought 1inch foam and layered it to make 2inch foam for one of the 2x10x81 pieces of wood.$14.56

Tape Measurer - found one at Dollar Tree for $1.00
Batten - I did two separate transactions & used two of Hobby Lobby's 40% off coupons both times it was $13.13.
I bought 7 yards of Crushed Velvet Fabric -$36.75 after Hobby Lobby's 40% coupon
Headboard which is 47" tall and 81" wide and 3 pieces of 2x10x81 at Lowe's for $44.92
The two pieces of wood that we have the support beams sitting on $5.96
The four support beams $15.88
Brackets came in a pack of 4 for $3.78 a piece at Lowe's and I bought 4 packs

Is it a normal king bed or a Carlifornia one? If so do you have to cut it 47x81, or 47x80?

Yes.
Do u remember the measurements for everything?
Yes ma’am it’s posted it in the description box.
How much roughly would you say this costs ?
A lot of the tools I already had so that’s not included but roughly about $200 - $250.
What are the side rails sizes?

Yes. Up under my mattress is two twin box springs.

Well thanks and it took me well over a week but I work full time and I’m also mom so I just did a little bit at a time.

Sorry, but I couldn’t find this particular one on hobby lobby’s website anymore.
Where did you by the legs for the bed?
I made them from a big chunk of wood that I had left over from putting up my mailbox and just cut them down to desired length and painted them.
Can u make a crib tufted headboard?
I'm sure its possible to do but I would have to look into that one.
