Here’s a Chris Walken “C’MON!” for Korg, who refuse to reissue the amazing EMX-1 and ESX-1 that are going for crazy used prices because they’re just that awesome.
~0:49 I tried to look at that as just a funny ("funny") meme, but really that's pretty cringe. Haha.* ~6:00 Heh, that's kinda genius! [Jeff Goldblum for "on the fly."] Great work as always, you never disappoint! Wish I could say the same for the Replay. It really does seem to truly fit the "bad gear" designation! Especially with that price tag. Btw, this is random, but something pretty funny happened recently. A certain name (was it Chris Cebelenski? It might've been) popped into my head. And for a minute, I was like "Who tf is that!?" And then the realization hit me - that's literally just one of Florian's Patrons. Hahaha! It's funny what sticks in your mind and comes out at random times. It's probably because of the vocoder shoutouts, ofc (which are awesome). Edit: *Wait, did you use that because you were saying "delusional"? If so, that makes sense, and is totally fitting.
The Kaoss we actually asked for they're making us build ourselves! 😱 MPC 3 and 404 mkII totally blow away this joke of a product. My wallet says 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Great video as ever BTW👍
Wow. It amazes me that half baked products like that actually get to market! And the price!!!! As I’ve probably said before I got my MPC, Microfreak and my favourite electric guitar for less…. ATM I’m just counting the moments till I can get MPC 3.0 and figuring out how to get my newly acquired Raspberry pi working as a Samplerbox and a microdexed😀
This was meant to compete with the woefully out-of-date Pioneer (Alpha-Theta) DJS-1000. It actually isn’t too bad of a product when directly compared to it. The Roland SP-404 Mk2 is close but lacks one critical feature and that’s the ability to quickly and reliably adapt to tempo changes. The RCA connections on the unit are 100% standard in the DJ booth, and I would not expect to see anything else. The important thing in the DJ booth is that the equipment be reliable and not easily turned off by accident, simple to use, and prevent accidental silence when the mode or something is changed. KORG has some aspects of it dialed in well, but definitely not others. It’s a hard pass for me for now. With a couple of firmware updates and a reasonable price, I can easily see one of these in my DJ GO BAG.
Coolest use of the orig. KAOSS pad was from the guitarist if Muse where he mounted that thing on his guitar next to the bridge for on the fly funky effects. Thats about it.

Whew, gotta agree, having researched this one a while ago. You nailed the coverage on this!
Thank you!!!
Texas Instruments adding unneeded features to calculators just to keep prices high.
Shots fired;)
Ur drill n bass compositions are always soooo good
Thank you!!! I’m a faithful disciple of the amen break
6:12 Dark Florian compels me to become a patron! The power of Bad Gear compels you! The power of Bad Gear compels you!
😻😻😻
Upon watching this episode, everyone at Korg burst into tears and immediately shut down the company.
❤️❤️❤️Korg❤️❤️❤️
I think saying they have a problem is a gross understatement
Let's stay civilized here;)
@@AudioPilzthey disappoint me they really do. They had a winner with the Kylie Minilogue and it’s just been down hill from there. I like their stuff it sounds different but it’s 2024 and they can’t even dish out a decent drummachine. The ER-1 sounds far better
@@TobyBorrowI do wonder if Korg would have gone into administration by now if it wasn't for the Volca series
@@rorz999 well I was bought one in the early days of them by my then gf. I don’t mind their bassline as you can sequence your 3 voices very differently
@@rorz999 I have thought about this issue and checking out they website they really only have synths as a small proportion of their products. I’d say they sell more arranger keyboards than anything else. It’s cross implementation of the same technology. I guess we see it through a narrow field of vision. But yes I do think Volcas have made some cash. Even I have the bassline albeit a very generous partner bought me it as a Xmas present when they first came out. I do like it for some things which does cover its value. Just ram it through some effects I say. Then again effects cost, but then again I use they across everything. I guess it can be rectally ingested
MicroSampler catching stray shots 😅 the gear which brought me to this channel. As a KP3 and KP pro owner, safe to say I'm not in the market for this Kaoss replay.
Items like this is proof you will never run out of content... I think simply putting on the worse janky easy to break USB connection is enough even if this thing made sense... if they actually make a kaoss production centre... they did what? saved 0.03p in production?... USB-C is just a dependable port... and cheap stuff uses it because of that reason and this costs way way way way more than it should
So true!!!
We all knew this episode was gonna happen when they announced the price tag on that thing.
I heard that this was designed and built 12 years ago but they couldn’t get the ui right and then when they did they had to rebox them and reformat them that’s why they have rcas
That would totally make sense!!!
I've got the behringer version. The behringer TWEAKALIZER!
to be exact. Christ, that's BAD GEAR!
1 second sample time? Check. Only phono connectors? Check. Space 1999 design? ect... and i personally LOVE behringer.
But crikey. S'bad...
Bloody Great video as always!
Thanks! Love the Tweakalizer!!!
Nightmare Blunt Rotation - Korg UI Edition: Electribe 2 Sampler, KAOSS Replay, Micro Sampler
The horror...
You’re missing the op1 field
At least Micro Sampler was 24 bit\48 kHz and it was like 10 years ago... we all thought Korg will improve.... little did we know!
Here’s a Chris Walken “C’MON!” for Korg, who refuse to reissue the amazing EMX-1 and ESX-1 that are going for crazy used prices because they’re just that awesome.
I want one so badly!!!
I still want one. I love me my KP3's.
Modern classic!!!
TikTok Techno hits pretty hard in fact. Nicely done!
Thank you!!!
~0:49 I tried to look at that as just a funny ("funny") meme, but really that's pretty cringe. Haha.*
~6:00 Heh, that's kinda genius! [Jeff Goldblum for "on the fly."]
Great work as always, you never disappoint!
Chris is a long time supporter, certified synth expert and definitely deserves the fame;)
@@AudioPilz Haha, that's great then!
the toraiaz sp-16 gets forgotten yet again... but the sp16 is way better... so i guess it's a good thing.. lol.. another banger.. ha.
I'll wait for the inevitable IOS / Gadget version :)
👍👍👍
The Kaoss we actually asked for they're making us build ourselves! 😱 MPC 3 and 404 mkII totally blow away this joke of a product. My wallet says 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great video as ever BTW👍
KAOSS was perfect when it came out, now this thing feels like a cash grab.
True that!
Not sure how, but the supporter shoutout this month was incredible.
Thank you!!!
It boggles my mind too
Holy cow you ripped that poor thing a second one. This episode reaches angry video game nerd levels of hate and frustration
Thank you!!!
We’re gonna take you back to the past
When Korg made budget gear that kicked ass
@@ShakaCthulu he'd rather haaave, akai mpx8, take a diarrhea down his eaaar
I had a Kaossilator Pro back in the day, and...um....it was certainly a thing. Wish I hadn't, but I did. Live and learn.
Get an RK002 by Retrokits for the Kaossilator;)
Not gonna lie: I'd get me a Volcanator.
Same here!!!
Burned. Love it. I had similar thoughts about special K. In New Zealand this unit retails for $1800NZD which is just stupid.
Insane!!!
Direct-to-bad-gear
❤️❤️❤️
First piece of gear that isn't teenage engineering that i'm genuinely offended by its existence in every way.
I feel you!
💩talking gear is my love language💗🤤🐶
❤️❤️❤️
This thing definitely lived up to the name of the show.
Love Korg, but they can shove it with the price of this thing.🤦♂️
Lol, shots fired;)
It's 2024, nothing makes sense to me anymore 😂
Sad but true!
Coolest use of the orig. KAOSS pad was from the guitarist if Muse where he mounted that thing on his guitar next to the bridge for on the fly funky effects. Thats about it.
Agreed!!!
Wow, I think this is the first time I've actually seen Pilz angry at a piece of gear! Oh well, at least I've got the NTS-3 (or rather I don't have an NTS-3, but at least I can daydream about having one).
