Wow! Very nice and beautiful. You should be very proud and happy. You saved alot of money and got to spend quality time with your family while they helped you. 😊😊😊
My Dad built a sunroom off our back porch it was a fun project. He installed skylights that leaked every spring. I became expert at repairing drywall ceiling and replacing flashing. Eventually daddy and I changed the pitch of the roof to facilitate shedding the water. Anyway mistakes were made but improvements were always forthcoming. I miss my Dad! He taught me a lot about DIY. I was always at his side helping with everything. Holding the flashlight and passing him the tools. I’ve done some of my own diy projects from electrical to plumbing and all the tile and plasterwork between.
That’s awesome. You were able to do projects with your dad. Hopefully the skylight hasn’t leaked anymore lol but thank you for watching more videos coming soon. 🤙❤️❤️
Wow!!! What an impressive achievement! The awning, rock beds, trellises, n doggie door added a touch of class. Then tht wasn’t enough…u built in a sidewalk from the patio to ur outdoor enclosure n inside u built in the outdoor stove!!! Let’s not even talk abt ur smart sprinkler system!!! U thought of every detail!! Well done!!!!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽😄🌴🦩👍🏽👍🏽🌷😍🩷‼️
Beautiful build. Great job. I suggestion. Plant Rosemary around the exsterior of your building, It repeals misquitoes. Maybe plant one on either side of your front door also. They are a evergreen herb used in cooking. They will grow 3 foot tall and 3 foot tall but you can trim if you want. also use in your cooking!!.
@@michellejaggard9657 That’s a great idea. Thank you for the recommendation I’ll look into doing that around summertime maybe I’ll record it and shout you out ❤️
Wow thanks so much. I normally reply to comments around this time so you got me at a good time, anyway new video coming first week of February. Thanks for watching and have a good night 🙌❤️
Not sure what is more enjoyable from your projects, designing them, building them, appreciating your work or the fact that you save lots of money on them! congrats they look awesome
If I may suggest to you how to address the fly/mosquito issue...go plant some mint/spearmint plants in your front and backyard just keep in mind that they are very dominant plants and they NEED THEIR OWN DESIGNATED SPACE to grow! This will take care of the issue plus you and the wife can utilize the leaves to cook with and to make extracts and infusions to be used in bath body and cosmetic products!
Great job! Looks awesome! Screening in our covered patio is on my bucket list to do before next summer. So over fighting mosquitos every summer! Thanks for inspiring me to get our plan underway!!
Wow. You guys did an awesome job! I love the way you included your family, didn't drag the process out with a long boring video, and gave some wonderful suggestions. That sprinkler system rocks too.
I just came upon YOUR video, and I loved it, and I'm a female. YOUNG man, YOU DID A BAD ASS JOB!! I'M THINKING, EVERYONE IS PROUD OF YOU!! YOU ARE ALSO A HELL OF A DAD. CONGRATULATIONS👍👏👏👏⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. THE PATIO LOOKS FANTASTIC🎉🎉🎉. KUDOS TO YOU. 👏👏👏
Overall nice job-- love the cool Sprinklers, the Lighting and Paver Stones. Some suggestions that could've improved the patio portion... 1) rebar in the concrete countertop (it's going to crack & fall)... 2) should've started in the middle for tiling, so an equal amount would've been cut from Left-most & Right-most border tiles, instead of cutting some off of trimming only from the Right-most ones (it's off-balance)... 3) framing in for the countertop, without factoring in cabinetry (to house outdoor dishes/entertaining/yard paraphernalia seems a waste of space)-- is an expensive "house" for only a Trash Can.... 4) the space for the Bar Stools seems tight (one has to crab walk sideways to get in there)--- should've considered extending the patio 8 feet, instead of only 4 feet... 5) a ceiling fan would be nice. Been DIYing since 18, now 64.... and, am a retired professional Space-Planning Organizational Designer. You have great imagination, enthusiasm & talent, though. Looking forward to seeing future projects! 🙂
I was thinking the same thing about the island. So much unused potential there. They also didn’t include any shelving exposed or otherwise in the rest of the build. Lack of storage is a bummer lol
This video popped up today on my feed and I'm so glad it did. Thoroughly enjoyed watching this build; it's BEAUTIFUL. Can't wait to see what you transform next.
loooovveee it! so beautiful and genius. so much cheaper and you even added a TON of extra stuff that you technically didn't even need. understandable tho that you want it to look super nice and convenient! good idea on that doggy door too!!😍😍😍
Looks very nice we did the same thing to ours . We did the same with screens was ok for couple of months than the rain and bad weather season hit. Short story everything got wet so we decided to install windows 20 years later still the best decision we made.
I just want to say that I enjoyed your video and I love what you did to your backyard. It looks so very professional and high end. You and your wife should have your show on HGTV.
NO he shouldn’t. Woulda cost next to nothing to rent a mixer and hydrate the aggregate evenly per the directions. Woulda been a strong bond, smoother surface, matching the other surface color. He didn’t use rebar to reenforce or connect to the other slab. Dry poors are weak, that with posts and a roof on it, its going to last half the time it would have had he rented the mixer and done it the way it was engineered to be mixed. Why spend that time and money on wood and screen if you’re going to half ass the foundation, the most important part. This is a good example of how not to do it.
Turned out good! But worried about concrete cracking with no fiber or rebar in it and that big square washer is supposed to go under the nut to hold your post bracket down
I LOVE all of your videos!! You are EXTREMELY TALENTED!! You have a HUGE heart, especially with homeless people!! You are a EARTH ANGEL❣️ OH, I want to know with all the lights outside at night do you have a suggestion on what to do about mosquitoes?
Beautiful!! The only thing I’d add is maybe some paint on the floor so it can be uniform and hide the paint from the stucco. I hope I find a partner who’s handy so we can do projects like this.
Whoever created the dry-pour technique (I'll guess it was tiktok) was a genius 👍 Seeing people blindly follow the trend instead of doing a proper pour is entertaining 😁👌 The wasted time and cost is unnecessary, especially when they want things to last "as long as possible".
I am loving your videos. I just came across your channel, and I am glad I decided to watch. I love how you narrate your videos and how you explain things. I think I'll subscribe...
When shingling, should have put "starter" shingles upside-down under the first row and up the gable ends to prevent leakage between the first row of shingles and along the gable edges for a more clean look other than that......good job brotha.
Great Build. But I would have added a nice tile or paver floor. That would really put a finishing touch on the area. BTW. Good luck with that Smoke Detector near the grill.
Dang....Job well done!!! I have a huge patio....and am going to do the same to mine now. Looks really good. 1/2 the price of a Contractor......But you know it is done right. The Contractor would have probably used subpar material. Great work. Thanks for sharing.

He used metal mesh for the countertop . That will help with cracking
Yes, I think rebar in the slab. Wouldn't you fasten it to the existing slab to keep them level to each other over time?

Looks nice. I'm worried though about posts secured in a dry pour.
Correct. Posts need a footing. Unreinforced dry poured concrete does not a footing make. This will heave in frost conditions and gradually fall apart.
