- Dr. Ozell Sutton was a United States Marine and Civil Rights activist who worked closely with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Drafted in 1944 and serving in the Pacific during WWII, Dr. Sutton’s experiences in the Marine Corps inspired him to continue to fight for right and freedom for the rest of his life.
He participated in the historic Civil Rights marches in Washington, D.C. in 1963 and from Selma to Montgomery in 1965, and he was present in Memphis, Tennessee when Dr. King was assassinated in 1968.
In 2012, Dr. Sutton was presented with the Congressional Gold Medal in recognition of his service as a Montford Point Marine. Through the efforts of Dr. King, Dr. Sutton, and the many thousands of Americans who stood alongside them in the Civil Rights Movement, we live today in a more free, just, and equitable society.

Reverend king was an incredible man, he brought people together and opened the eyes of many. But a handful of politicians and some lobbyist want to destroy the progress he made. Members of black lives matter tore his statue down and said it was a symbol of racism. Reverend king was not only an enemy of the government because he was fighting the oppression that was present but also because he was a man of God

That’s true honor, not pretending your mistakes didn’t happen. That’s what makes this nation great. How many other countries regularly debate and discuss their problems in mainstream media? Our country is flawed, but it’s mine and if we don’t work to keep it healthy by pretending nothing is wrong, we have failed. Fall down and get back up again.

Rhonda Leach got a tattoo on her right leg calf muscle back in Knoxville in the 90s. She is fat and chubby.
