- On November 10, 2023, U.S. #Marines around the globe will celebrate 248 years of success on the battlefield and reaffirm their commitment to our Corps' proud legacy of honor, courage and commitment.
This year, the Commandant of the Marine Corps, Gen. Eric M. Smith and Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps Carlos A. Ruiz remind us all that Marines are professional warfighters who have earned their reputation of discipline and lethality in the crucible of combat.

Happy birthday, Marines. Army soldier here, always recognized that marines are built different than the other branches. Just one look at them and you can tell they are made of tougher stuff. Anybody who is honest will admit that.
Love the Army, always treated as with respect. Gunnery Sergeant Castro 75/96 and thank you for bring my son home safely from the Middle East. He’s a Soldier and I can’t be more proud.

Yes, "We are Marines until we die and we require a 2 week notice for that" is the most hardcore statement I have heard uttered in a long time.
Lt Calvin was my platoon commander in Fallujah. He took that round while communicating targets to hit with our 60MM mortars. He was part of the forward observers that would radio to us on targets or areas we needed to drop on. On that day, he was almost directly across the street from us standing up yelling and pointing at targets. The fighting was intense and loud and the radio was difficult to hear and convey what he was seeing, so he exposed himself to enemy direct fire to relay his coordinates to us. He took that round and we succeeded in suppressing the enemy and sending many of them to hell in a combined arms assault a young Marine can only dream of. Lt Calvin was one of, if not the best, Marine I had the pleasure to serve under. A true leader, he once carried a 240G on a 2-3 hour foot patrol in July or August in Iraq. Marines like Lt Calvin are Esprit de Corps. Semper Fidelis and Happy Birthday, Marines!

My father was a marine , my step father was a marine, my older brother was a marine, I was a marine, spent 19 months and 28 days in Vietnam with the twelve marines . My son was a marine 0311 , fought in Iraq. My only regret is that I didn’t stay in . Simper Fi and happy birthday Marines

My father was a Marine W W 2 , he was an ORIGINAL 2nd Division Marine, (no re-enforced on his discharge) , Guadalcanal to Saipan, his brother a Marine with 4th Division, WW2 , later 2nd Division (stateside) for Korea, myself Vietnam 11th Marines, my youngest son a Marine, peacetime. God bless !!!

Contact part of the marine corps league or something, they should be able to join you up with a nearby one if you can’t find one yourself. Plenty of college rotcs hold them as well for obvious reasons

On December 29th 1979 I reported to Platoon 1001, A Company, 1st Battalion, Parris Island SC, and I was changed forever. I earned the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor, and at 64 I proudly wear it on my shoulder. As Marines we stand shoulder to shoulder with the ghosts of heroes. Semper Fi, do or die. God bless our Corps.

My grade school gym teacher (79 to 81) Marvin Glick was a marine on Iwo Jima he was a good man and got me interested in history I went to Iwo Jima in 2005 brought back sand and placed it on his grave 🇺🇸

Though Force Design 2030 generally has found acceptance at the top levels of the Defense Department and in Congress, it sparked an extraordinary - and public - backlash from retired Marine leaders.
Several retired generals penned opinion essays decrying Force Design and urging the Marine Corps and Congress to halt the overhaul, which they said would leave the service less prepared to confront a range of crises.
My grandfather was a Chosen Reservoir survivor from "Operation Tootsie Roll" and went on to serve 3 more tours in Vietnam... Retired as a Gunnery Sergeant... Purple Heart recipient and all around AMAZING man!! Without our Marine Corps our nation would NEVER have the freedom that makes us WHO we are!! For that we are TRULY BLESSED 🙏🙏. I was blessed to attend the 200th Birthday Ball, and I'm sure many of today's Marines will attend the 250th. I was stationed in Philadelphia and got to see the groundbreaking ceremony for Tun Tavern. Every time someone thanks me for my service, I tell them it was an honor, and it was.

You probably don’t even understand the magnitude of your contributions to humanity because you’re so busy trying to save the world. I graduated Hospital Corps School and knew that I had to go FMF. I took great care of my Marines and they took great care of me. HM3 HMH 462 1973-1977. Now MD. I cherish the memories and love my Marines. Hooya ! Semper Fi!!

Served with 7th marines in 1950 kOREA. from iNCHON TO CHOSEN REservoir. We maty have been trapped but our fighting spirit prevailed and with my PH I returned home and will always be proud to have served in such an elite group. I served as a reporter/photographer in the Corps. I can tell you something that really sets the Marines apart from everyother military organization..."Saltieness" the definition of which is shared amoung only the eleite fighting men and women everywhere. Usmc represent group of best young men and women our nation has to offer. Earning the title United States Marine is more than what you do for living? It is a commitment. I want to say thank you to all of you who earned the title United States of Marine. You motivate and inspire me daily, especially i am under intense cancer treatment since November 2020. Marine teach me no matter how tough the battle is? I can overcome my fears and I can keep going. Never quit,that's why I am still fighting this horrible disease. Semper Fi Marine and happy birthday.
I am a retired AF MSgt, C130 maintenance specialist. My only son is an inactive Marine. I'm deeply proud of him and all true Marines, past, present, and future!!! I just pray that "wokeness" doesn't compromise present and future Marines...God save America and the Corps!!!
