I think this is one of the moments where Jez comes across as a genuinely good guy. We all know he's a bit of a plonker, but it took guts to stand up to an unfairness like this.
Is causing drama at a funeral of your relative a good thing? The ceremony's already in progress, it's too late to change the "decorations". His rant didn't accomplish anything but diverted attention from his uncle.
@@twisted_nether373 nawh I had a death in the family that was controlled in a similar way, everyone was furious and called it out how we saw it. Nothing in death should be selfish.
Alternatively, mark even asking her should have been a red flag for her lol Edit: OH shit, should have read the replies first lol Already beat me to it lol
At 3:02, the man sitting in the Pew in the very center looking at the camera is my uncle! He did lots of background work in movies such as Batman Begins, Crush, Holby City, Harry Potter, James Bond, Charlie and the Chocolate factory and many more!
That reading, has to be one of the shows finest moments. Met so many blokes who have served in the army and believe it or not that's how many of them speak. Spot on.

I'd rather it ends as a good show. I liked season 9, but you can tell they were running out of energy with it at that point. You think you want more, but if you actually got it you'd probably say "urgh, what's this shit? Why are the writers all hacks now?".
I love the end of this episode where Toni tosses off Jeremy, and it's clear he comes just as the end credits begin, and the burst of Orinoco Flow's chorus comes alive....
Checking in from 2022. Bloke who wrote Peep Show has played another blinder with Succession. And I’m pretty sure the actor playing Auntie Liz is Clare Balding’s wife, as seen on Celebrity Gogglebox.
Whenever I think of Enya I think of the South Park Episode where Stan's grandfather locks him in a room with Enya playing and says "this is how it feels to be old, Billy".
I've seen about 50 clips of this show, and I don't have a TV, so I didn't get it until I saw this particular clip. I think this basically sums it up for me.
And as She did verily Sail Away, She did looketh back upon those of the faith, And She did utter in sweet dulcet tonage; "Lo, O only if it may it be, if one by one we could be carried upon the orinoco flow, through waters of the caribbean blue, alas for us only time storms in Africa, and in our book of days only time can send me on my way home." And so did Enya speaketh Her holy words upon the faithful, And unto Enya, we can never truly say goodbye. Amenya
I forgot this scene. So good. I know it's all comedy but it makes me think that Jeremy wasn't wrong when he pissed himself at the wedding and blamed Mark for grinding down his self-worth over the years. Later season Jez was much more of a coward.
Her brother found Jesus while he was dying of cancer. Then when he died his sister banned all mention of Jesus at his funeral. That’s why the guy at the beginning was reading an excerpt from “Scorpio Patrol” instead of the bible.

Too bad he did it for all the wrong reasons, as per usual.

The fact that Sophie agreed to go on a date to a funeral should've been a red flag right there.
The fact that Mark invited her to a funeral as a date is a bigger red flag.
That's the thing, Soph has this put-together image but she does messed up stuff too.
True and it works well with Mark’s character ie never had a serious relationship before. Thanks for pointing out some good foreshadowing
Alternatively, mark even asking her should have been a red flag for her lol
Edit: OH shit, should have read the replies first lol
Already beat me to it lol
Mark is the red flag. She just felt awkwardness and pity, and felt obliged to not shut him down in his moment of weakness.
The "Enya died for our sins" bit always makes me crack up! :D

Johnny and sqquarehead lol
pretty sure this is jez's high point
Not the speech to the jury?
AlphaMikeOmega no liberal lol
Speech to jury while inspired was another self serving low for Jez
Oh I'd say so, yeah, though he still manages to come across like a bit of a clueless berk xD
I mean... Probably fucking Elena, Zahra, Nancy, Big Suze and more.
I love this, because it's one of those points in the show where it really says something rather important, once you get past Jezz's awkward delivery.
"Oh poor Ray. He's in there, in that cardboard box. I can't believe i- Shit! This just gets better and better!" haha oh god
Remember everyone, Enya died for your sins.

The “monkey puzzler” gets me every fucking time
One of her brothers favourites
"Not friend no.. as a kind of date" :D
'We all get slotted some time.'
Jezs finest moment mark has the book club speech and jez has this
amazing touch that orinoco flow plays over the closing credits of this episode
"Before he went" gets me every time!!
“There’s no proof in science or the stock market” the lads are golden. Nothing like British humour.
The stock market is simply pyramid marketing. However, I could easily do my washing-up without it.
I think this is the only time Jez acted out of purely good intentions without ulterior motive
The Enya speech is so damn funny. It's only like a minute long but it feels like 2 or 3
I love that Mark is so weird that he asks her out on a date to a funeral.
"As Johnno let rip with the stolen kalashnikov..." 🤣
And squarehead fired off a stream of monkeypuzzler ...
This is gold. Love that scene so much.
"We all get slotted sometime."
lol i was trying to listen to some enya and i last about 30 seconds before i burst out laughing and have to watch this
We all get slotted sometime
They've got to do more, I love peep show, constant repeat.

"Let off a stream of monkey puzzler"
Thanks Keith.
The book reading LOL!
Inspired choice
Only Mark would have asked someone to go to a funeral as a date.
enya died for our sins
The phrase "a bit bloody rich" given the context makes me laugh so hard
ngl I want an enya themed funeral
I love the end of this episode where Toni tosses off Jeremy, and it's clear he comes just as the end credits begin, and the burst of Orinoco Flow's chorus comes alive....
That was a bloody good speech
Where can I get a copy of Scorpio Patrol? I'd like to read an excerpt at my uncles's funeral.
We all get slotted sometime
Enya was great, and Enya died for our sins
The book reading so funny... Amazing writing...brilliant
A truly beautiful speech.. thank you Jezz
cost cutters is a bloody cathedral.
Probably the worst speech at a funeral ever yet he gets a round of applause lol
ducksnwine it was a great speech
It's a comedy that's the point
Dracula Nova i thought it was good especially when you know if was of the cuff and it took a lot of balls to stand up and say it
he was standing up for his uncles wishes that the sister was completely trying to Rob and change. so thats why they clapped
I thought it was a great speech!
Lol Jez comes off so noble out of context
WAKE-DATE! lol Only Mark would go for that, this show is so good.
Wow
thanks for dying for our sins
Jez's best moment
Scorpio Patrol!! 😂😂😂
I went to a funeral like this recently. I'm an atheist but people who are actively anti-religious are just embarrassing
1:05 ffs 😂😆😂 the most British dribble.
Drivel😊
Yes, Jez. Preach!

He's right about the stock market. One big gambling racket!
Well no, its not. Your mistake is to imagine you can pick stocks. You dont need to. You invest in the market.
Whenever I think of Enya I think of the South Park Episode where Stan's grandfather locks him in a room with Enya playing and says "this is how it feels to be old, Billy".
When I was your age I killed my grandfather!
KILL ME BILLY!!!!
Best end with Enya ❤
Next time I go on a date Im going to some random funeral.

Happy St. Patrick's Day to all believers in Enya!
I bet the excerpt is more than likely a parody of the book Bravo Two Zero
I read a bit of that once, it isn't too far off
“Why is she here?”
Scorpio Patrol
A bit bloody rich indeed
What's the context here? What is the woman trying to downplay?

Date on a funeral¿
Wake date.
Where did enya come from? 😂
is scorpio patrol real?
@You are right You're right, Amazon is you are friend.
Enya boot Aunty...............
