So I have been wondering which 6 coaches @brettkollmann would put ahead of Eberflus. Obviously LaFleur, Campbell, and KOC are three. Then, Brian Flores and Ben Johnson make 5. Is Brett already putting Jeff Hafley above Eberflus? I could see it. Or perhaps he was talking about Robert Saleh?
I remember when Brett made a similar video about the Texans and he even directed the video towards people in the organization that will likely see his video loll They have since turned things around. Let's see what Chicago does.
We appreciate it... As a life long Bears fan, we need everyone on board ushering in brand new mojo so we can actually, proactively put points on the board...
As a bears fan I can speak to how it is. It’s like watching a slow moving train crash over and over - only problem is EVERY SINGLE PERSON knows how to fix it, but nobody does. They just let the crash occur over and over and over again
Man, I’m sorry. Packers are my bread and butter but I hate it when I see situations like this even amongst the rivals. It sucks and you have my sympathy.
Completely agree! What the hell happened to the guy who coached that Eagles team to the SB win over the Pats? I thought he was one of the best coaches in the league for a minute there but sheeeeesh
As an avid Bears fan, I normally have something to add in the comments to really drive a narrative. But Brett did a fantastic job describing my pain in excruciating detail. Well done brother.
@@monsi8536 haha I too watched that game with a bunch of family in the city. Who cares if the defense knows what you're doing? If it's 1st down inside of the 5, stack the box, pull a guard, put a tight end in motion, get a full back and run the fucking ball into the A or B gap with all those guys blocking.
@@JJJJYYYLLLL No, that was actually a good play call since 99% chance it would give them 3 plays instead of 2 to score the TD. Browner (who was on the Seahawks) is the one that knew the play and blew it up.
First off, thank you Brett, for using the powers of your curse, for the good of mankind. Second, as a Bears fan, this is tough to rewatch. But the larger problem, George McCaskey, is going to be tough to overcome. Until he stops screwing with things, because mommy owns the team and will never fire him, we're doomed as fans.
We're unfortunately in the same position as Blackhawks fans were in the 2000s; just waiting on Father Time to come collect the owner and hope George is willing to let someone who knows what theyre doing run the show.
I also want to take a moment, to point out that Matt Eberflus as HC, has directly led to now 5 direct losses due to his coaching! He blew three games, last year with double digit leads in the 4th quarter! And now, with the losses to the Colts and Commanders, that's FIVE FUCKING LOSSES DUE TO BAD COACHING!! In back to back seasons.
@BrettKollmann how can Eberflus come back from hanging the players out for his and Waldron's fuckups? Surely there isn't a path back now, all bridges have been burned?
Leave it to Bears fans to use 16 more commas than are needed in a sentence. The Chicago Public School system leaves yall unable to understand more than 5 words in a single phrase.
The fact they even held onto Eberflus after last year is UNFORGIVABLE. They had a chance to tie a young bright playcaller like Ben Johnson to Caleb Willams. How you do not do that is beyond me.
Not to mention, if Caleb could win ROTY, Waldron would get HC opportunities. If not, the whole coaching staff is probably gone, meaning Caleb has a lame-duck OC
Waldron just said in a presser he has no regrets on the play call(handing off to a lineman down 5 at the one) and said he has no regrets and would call it again if he had to do it over Fire everyone
and what's so dumb is when you're a leader, even if you called the correct play, even if everyone knows you called the correct play, and absolutely knows the players screwed it up, you still go in front of the press and take blame. Sure, you give your team hell in practice and hold them accountable, but in front of everyone, even IF everyone knows you're lying, you still just take the heat because that's what a leader does, takes the heat.
Been a Bears fan my whole life and have always loved Brett's videos. I've been avoiding sports talk for the most part this week about the game for obvious reasons. But had to watch this one though. Tough one last week
This had to be made, thank you for putting my relationship with this team in such a well made video. My first memory of the Bears was seeing Devin Hester return a kick (in a green bay packer household) during the superbowl and seeing my father get all happy & excited, I had no idea why he was so absurdly pissed later in the night.
I hate to be that guy, because this Washington game was inexcusable, BUT...... I'm almost positive Flus was ordered to play tank ball so they could better build out of the draft, which he actually did a fine job of. Now that it's time to finally play ball and we get this bs???? Unbelievable
@@garrethbolandYeah I'm convinced of that too because Luke Getsy is not a good coordinator but he COMPLETELY abandoned his good run concepts in 2023. Justin Fields designed runs was the Bears entire offense and he abandoned it
It is funny. It also has a sense of inevitability about it. In what world is there any other outcome to the decision to place Carter there with that assignment? Technique can accomplish a lot, but it can’t outright defy physics.
I feel bad for Caleb Williams...to be stuck with this coaching staff meanwhile having to listen to the constant comparison with Jayden Daniels...say what you want about Dan Quinn, atleast he is fundamentally competent as a coach. And while I understand that Daniels is doing something very special, its still there rookie year and they both need to learn and grow sufficiently before we pass our final judgement on the two. I mean, look at cj stroud over at Houston, as great as he was his rookie year, we can see that he still needs to develop some more before he can be truly elite
The whole bit of being compared to Jayden Daniels confuses me. Sure, the highlights are pretty, but his level of play isn’t sustainable. He’s already hurt 9 weeks in, he leaves the pocket often, most times when he has a clean one and takes off instead of manipulating the defense with his arm. He’s been able to get away with some remarkable plays, but that’s thanks to Kliff Kingsbury, he’s putting on a masterclass of an OC Job this year. Since 2018 most “athlete” QBs are struggling now in this era of the league. Only one that’s truly been elite has been Lamar. I love that dude. Or Mahomes and Josh Allen. I think people need to slow the comparisons down and wait a couple of years before making judgement. Most Commanders fans wanted a trade up for Caleb, how they and other NFL fans bash him is beyond me. As if he’s supposed to transcend coaching and the structure around him which truly is sad.
@@NotNykohturn on the film and tell me Jayden isn’t playing QB at a high level while also being dynamic with his legs. Week 1 he may have been bailing from the pocket but since Week 3 he’s been incredible and this past week against the Bears was some of his best film as a pure passer. Washington fans don’t bash Caleb, we root for him because he’s a local kid. It’s been Bears fans bashing Jayden all year because they’re self-conscious about how good he’s been. No ones trying to make definitive statements 8 weeks into their careers, but trying to discredit Jayden makes no sense.
@@NotNykohDude it's clear you have a hard on for bashing Athletic QBs. Jalen Hurts, Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, Kyler Murray,Mahomes , etc have been manipulating defenses for years with their legs and they are just fine
Brett's Rant about Matt Eberfleus crappy Head Coaching post conference and blaming the players for execution is funny because Doug Pederson has been doing this ish for the Past 14 games. Blaming players, awful schemes, getting mad at reporters, and had the NERVE to say that we need a culture change. After we lost a VERY winnable games against the Texans this year... Doug Pederson was asked by reporters should he take away play calling from Press Taylor (who is horrible) and Doug Pederson responded by saying "Why would I do that? I think he called a Great Game". Its there is a clear fireable offense... it would definitely be that one RIGHT THERE!! Say way you will about Eberfleus. At least something he's doing is working...(Defense). NOTHING is working for Doug Pederson right now.
@@NichrysalisNo you’re wrong there. The defense is great and there’s no denying his job as a defensive coordinator. It’s that Eberflus has consistently been a poor game manager which is what he said he would specialize in when he was hired at the head coach.
There is nothing that puts it quite in stark contrast as comparing the Bears coaching staff to the Commanders coaching staff. As someone who has lived through plenty of bad coaching staffs here in Washington, a lot of this is familiar, including firing a head coach a year after drafting a new QB. But, when you finally get a good one that actually knows how to maximize the talent they have, rather than play like they wish they had different talent that can actually run the scheme they are trying to run, it feels so much better.
Bears fans before the game "JD will get exposed and CW will take over as top rookie" Bears fans after the game: "we are a trash org with a stupid coach and will always fall on our face" As always, the truth is somwhere in the middle. But their rollercoaster of emotions this past week have been nothing short of spectacular
I’m probably one of the very few, if not few, only bears fan who knew this wasn’t going to be a good game. I hate the coaching and OC, thought Eberflus wasn’t the right guy since day 1. It sucks this organization can’t ever seem to get things correct top to bottom
@@parkerdavis7859 Bro y’all did this to yourself. We didn’t force you to make that trade. Anyway thanks for the tanking again, there must be some talent left with pick #33
I'm a Lions fan, so i know exactly how you feel because my Lions organization was dysfunctional from 1958 - 2020. That's 62 years. Im 47. It was terrible. Your points are strong and they stick. Maybe you should write a letter to the management team to shed light on their obvious deficiencies. Good luck moving forward, except when y'all play us. The video was well done!
I just want us to get your OC as our next coach. You guys will still be great without him as he already has done his job (I want you guys to win the sb this year so there is no unfinished business with Ben Johnson), and the Bears need someone with that level of offensive play-calling talent. But the Bears hire low iq people who make predictably poor decisions, so I don't know at this point. I am getting to the point of not caring.
Eberflus is a great DC and motivator and the guys love him, he’s the reason why our defense has been so good…he’s also blown 4 4th quarter leads with a 90% or more win percentage in the past two years, so as a bears fan every loss ends up feeling like a kick in the nuts (And Shane Walrdron sucks again, captains need to have another meeting with him 💀)
Bravo...The best podcast I've seen on the ridiculous Bears coaching situation.. it was astounding that they hired flus in the first place, insane that they kept him.
I wasn't shocked when they didn't clean house at the end of last season, but I was relieved, because it was like seeing the old familiar cycle repeating itself, even with the chance to draft a (supposedly) generational prospect at QB. Coaching aside, I was also mildly amused to see the Bears go WR with their second top 10 pick in a historically good offensive line draft. Odunze might be awesome some day, but you can get WRs anywhere in the first few rounds of the draft. Giving a rookie QB a guy like Fuaga to help protect him probably would have gone a helluva lot farther to developing Williams than another target who is only going to be targeted maybe 10 times a game. As a Packers fan, I can't say that I'm complaining about the outcome so far, but holy shit is it baffling to watch the Bears and the way they go about things.
Stop it. Historically good Oline draft? What? after 8 games? In a year that was widely panned as a very week draft because a ton of NFL level players were staying in school another year because of the NIL money?
They didn't have another pick until R3 after Rome, which they did spend on OT. You could hypothetically flip them and have taken Fashanu/Fuaga + Jermaine Burton/Roman Wilson/Jalen McMillan (assuming they still need a WR). Personally I think the picks they made are pretty justified, Rome was projected as a better player than either OT and through half of their rookie seasons Fuaga has a better PFF grade, Fashanu quite a bit worse. Kiran, the 3rd round OT is doing like, kinda ok for a rookie (very similar PFF grade to Fashanu). I think a lot of what the Bears management has done is questionable, but I don't think the Rome pick is really that bad, even if he is having the worst season out of all of the 1st round WR picks that didn't get shot.
The Odunze pick is probably justified in that he's a high valued known commodity. WRs hit rate from the the last decade (at least 2011 to 2021) in the top 10 of the draft is 9/14. If he he's got the size and desireable skillset (ISO ball winner, etc.) plus he'll be on a controlled cost for 5 years, that is a great investment. Day 2 receivers can hit but the Bears didn't have the draft capital to be taking players still within the top 100. I'm a little more negative on Tackle-swing tackle prospects even in the top 10 because they take time to develop (unless it was the sure deal player) and they can whiff. Even worse because the Bears interior O-line group isn't exactly set and stable either.
Asking an organization that got their own stadium removed from the Historical Landmarks list from their meddling to get their act together and pay attention to the play in that field might be a Sisyphian endeavor. Much love from a Detroit sports fan, we definitely know the struggle
Wish you waited to post this, because my Cardinals just kicked their ass 29-9. Caleb Williams was sacked multiple times, the O-line was laughable, Bears defense couldn't stop run plays, and the offense couldn't get a single TD. 3 field goals is all the Bears got. They did better in their game against Washington than they did against Arizona
You nailed it, the play of the game was 1st down on one yard line, 40 seconds with 3 timeouts. They stop the clock with a fade pass. That was the game and nobody has talked about that but you.
The craziest part is that literally anyone who watched the Bears for 3 seconds the last 7 years could tell you coaching was the issue. It’s kind of amazing how only the front office can’t see it. And as much as it’s a LAYUP to hire Ben Johnson, or Vrabel, or any number of coaches that would make the Bears legitimate contenders, there is literally no evidence to make me believe the Bears will do right by Caleb and the players lol.
You didn't even mention the best part about that goal line fade. Why are you throwing it to DJ Moore and not the 6ft 3 receiver you just drafted to do exactly that
I mean they hired a Coach named Eberflus. He was bound to fail. He sounds like this coaches you forget about for 20 years and you remember him on a random night in the future “Oh shit you guys remember when we had Eberflus”
The problem is not the name itself, it's the fact that everyone went Eber'who'? Because they always hire cute no-name losers instead of hiring the obvious guy for the job.
Brett is the only person that doesn’t make me immediately skip the ad reads. Also thanks for making this, hopefully it does some rounds around Halas hall. Doubt it’ll make a difference
I appreciate your efforts to save the Bears with this video. I have not bet on the Bears once this season yet because I have been waiting for your video jinx. I am now about to make millions. Ty.
Born ans raised on the north end of I-43. Always loved the rivalry. Always had some sort of respect for the Bears. Some of my first football memories is the 85 bears winning it all. (Yeah, sorry about that Jim McMahon thing) I finally got to go see a game in Chicago last season. I was honestly feeling bad for the fans by the end of the game. I was hoping to see a good game and the Bears we're just depressing. I may have been sworn at a few times leaving the stadium, but I do remember the 80s and what it was like to be rooting for a stagnant organization.
Shane Waldron Going to the Matt Canada Playbook. Speed motion into obvious wrong defenses, Gunner Olszewski sent to block DE’s on run plays… Except unlike Pittsburgh…head coach Eberflus also needs to go
@@UserName-ts3sp Understandable. But for team fanbases who have yet to sniff a consistent playoff run with a HC who can do more with less like Tomlin (especially on offense), they can only dream of being in such a scenario.
@@UserName-ts3spabsolutely unequivocally wrong. Yes he hasn’t seen a playoff as of late… he also had to content with the Greatest QB of all time in his conference unlike the soft NFC. And tbh if not for that bullshit Jesse James no TD call They would have more recently. Sometimes unfortunate things happen. Vontez Burfict knocking the greatest WR at the time out of the game in the last second with a concussion before the team had to go on to the patriots being one of them…it’s just football. Those are excuses but they are vital. Because after those years with Bell,Brown etc it was a rebuild all the offensive line retired. The Steelers rebuild slowly. It’s the way they have always and I mean always been. Good teams that stay good Draft well and rebuild over half decades. It’s the way the team operates and it operates that way to catch and edge on other teams who choose different methods. You clearly don’t understand the team and ownership. That level of consistency is prized and will continue to be.
The fade in the end zone to DJ Moore was an RPO. Caleb could've handed it off. I'm also much more comfortable giving the ball to Caleb on a QB Draw than a backup center on the goal line.
Well said. Well done once again Brett. I wish I wasn’t SO biased so I could have actually watched the game tape instead of burying my head in a hole for a week. Everything you said is SPOT ON. Love your content.
The only ray of hope and why this time is different is that if we make a change at HC, Caleb is legit enough to deal with it and succeed. Comparing him to Trubisky and Fields is unfair. He is light years ahead of both of them in the ability to process things mentally on the field.
Yes Brett. PLEASE say everything wrong with the Bears. We need the Kollman curse to work in our favor. I still remember being optimistic with the JF1 video
I was at the game and am a lifelong Bears fan. Here’s what I wrote Sunday night: I see the media is now trying to blame the game on Tyrique Stevenson talking junk to the crowd when he was supposed to get into position to defend. Having seen the game live, it had little to do with him. We should not have won that game. Our coaches are not good. Caleb couldn't hit the broad side of a barn. When we got the ball to the goal line the first time, Shane the feckless gave 68 the ball. And when we got there the second time, we got lucky with a PI call. Lastly, when Jayden was scrambling on the Hail Mary, we gave him thirteen f-ing seconds. THIRTEEN FING SECONDs!!! All of it was inexcusable and I can’t see a coach like Bill Belichick allowing it. We deserve better than this.
Hey Brett I know you’re a NFL guy, so it wouldn’t make sense to do this in the middle of the season, but I think a video going into detail about how college and the pro game are effectively categorically different games would be really helpful. It took me years to realize that you weren’t being hyperbolic and that the different rules completely alter the decision making process on a play to play basis. I think a whole video on this topic with visuals would be really cool.
I love the bears and have been watching them since I was 5. But now this team is literally effecting my mood… I don’t know how much longer I can put myself through this.
@3:12 not only was the play called questionable, you can see in 3 seconds 3 bears offensive lineman are on the ground and one second later a fourth offensive lineman joins the other 3 on the ground. The execution of that play was beyond horrendous. That’s why Swift was gang tackled. His entire offensive line was on the ground.
16:30 you said 7th best... the three other head coaches, ben johnson, brian flores, and then? aaron glenn or robert saleh? which one did you include? 😅
If Shane Waldron can work on the OBVIOUS personnel choice issues and improve play calling decisions even a little, I feel like we’ll be on the right track. Our defense is good. The coaching at the end of this game was atrocious, but we can improve. Let’s see where we’re at at the end of the season
Actually don’t hate the third down designed run for caleb. They’re not in any hurry, it’s obviously 4 down territory, nothing wrong with trying to steal a first or at least make that 4th down conversion easier. Also, the fade to dj was an rpo.
As along time Washington fan, I empathize with the pain you feel. We had that same feeling, but for far longer: we sucked for 25 years. It won’t change until the ownership changes.
Thanks for the jumpscare at 0:00 Brett. Been waiting all night for this video and this is how you start it off smh! As a bears fan I hate seeing the Hail Mary EVERYWHERE I GO!!!!!
As a Panthers fan I'm glad you get to suffer like we do, to have a graphic that scars you as much as one does for us. I can think of no fanbase that deserves it more after the sheer arrogance that was on display since early 2023.
I was front row in the end zone with my daughter. He caught the ball right in front of me. I was all over the NFL this week on the replays for our heartbreaking loss. I feel your pain. If you watch it again, I’m in a white hoodie right behind the play.
I’ve had conversations with friends about the Bears before they drafted Caleb. My thought was to play out his first year with Eberflus then Lincoln Riley gets the job.
As a Packers fan, the Bears had me worried there for a while that they were going to become great. 1st and 9th overall picks, good defense, good offensive pieces and then they were going to get either Jim Harbaugh or Ben Johnson for head coach (turns out Johnson was terrifyingly close to happening as Chi was the only team he wanted to go to) and maybe even Kliff Kingsbury as OC. I literally did the "YES!" with fist pump when I heard they were keeping Eberflub and hiring Waldron.
I feel like eberflus has made the culture really good in Chicago, and our steady progression and excellent defense rising up is something we have to keep in mind too. Eberflus is a defensive guy, and last year he had to take many defensive coordinator responsibilities. We progressed immensely after he took the position. I think he is a coach who can win. Most of our offensive issues are mostly waldrons fault imo. We did not expect to win a Super Bowl this year, and people forget that. Our year is next year, or the year after that. We need to shore up the offensive line, and then we will win something. Our offense can thrive with that. We have the skill around it, but if our offense line is excellent, our run game will be good, and our pass game will get better. Also, Caleb is a rookie qb anyways. He has a lot of wins for a rookie too. If we collapse, then start rolling heads, but we shouldn’t be too hasty tbh.
How can you say Eberflus can win when he is 3-17 on the road? Hell he's never won a road game against a team with a winning record. Brett and many other observers can point out the Eberflus losses and how it comes down to lack of attention to detail and game management woes. The issue isn't about being able to win the SB because clearly the fanbase and the rest of the NFL do not view the Bears roster as that kind of team. But to even get to January, the Bears staff needs coaches who can do more with less. Outside of being able to shut bad teams out from scoring over 20 pts given the talent on the Bears defense, Eberflus has not shown much else in how he can win. Also as some have pointed out, how can 'Flus stay winning when he's the only coach in recent years to have instrumentally blown 4th quarter leads where the Bears had an over +90% probability to win the game but lose in the end?
@ remember the first two years the team won three wins and seven wins. Those teams were not good, and only until the last seven weeks of the second season did we look competent, and had a huge turnaround. The road losses are inflated by a lot of total losses the first two years with an objectively bad team. I see that every past year we improved immensely with flus, and I believe the trend will continue into the third year. Being able to gatekeep bad teams is an important step in becoming good anyways, and we looked good defensively against the commanders. This last game I believe solely lied on Stevensons hand, as his negligence in the last play likely cost the game. Our team is very young, and with young teams they frequently make errors when they display greatness elsewhere. Eberflus has constructed a winning defense which has performed immaculately for many games, obviously not allowing 21 points or more in the last 11 games. The offense is the major issue, and I think Eberflus doesn’t have too much of a hand in that. I’m not sure he should, and I think he understands he would not succeed in that regard. Honestly, I’m not sure what the difference home and away are, but it likely has to do with the comfortability of Williams, and the rest of a team which has not been playing together for more than seven games. Successful teams usually have a core talent base of comfortable players they can draw from. Overall, coaching is not the issue. It might be slight, but I think the problem is more complicated. It’s a combination of a rookie qb, little chemistry, a brand new OC, and a below average O-line. Coaching might not work perfectly, but it’s not such an issue right now where heads need to roll. Our team keeps improving, and we will likely end the season with more wins than last year. Personally, I think Brett has some points, but overall exaggerates the issue. If you look at the grand scheme over the last three years, we have vastly improved our culture and ability on the field.
@@tricot6468 You do realize that if Stevenson wasn't involved in the play at all that he doesn't become the guy who tips the ball to a lone Noah Brown in the end zone right? You also do realize that in most well played defensive hail mary situations (that even Brett outlined) that the pressure comes in fast enough that even a mobile QB will not be able to make an off platform and accurate 50+ heave downfield. The way the Hail Mary defense was wrongly executed is just a culmination of Flus' lack of game management and awareness biting him in the ass when it matters most. Its not like he has bums on defense either. His talent on defense is far better than on offense. For that group to constantly underperform in big moments is an indictment of his failure to game plan and manage properly. Whereas better coaching minds in recent years even on the defensive end have done far more with limitations on defensive talent. If Flus is indeed the 7th best 'coach' in his division then culture really doesn't matter. Winning decisively solves things in the long term and the level of criticism changes to that point (see Tomlin as a prime example).
Brett you're a breath of fresh air man. Its dark in Bears land...people don't get it. and it saddens me this shit org is well on it's way to going to ruin ANOTHER QB with promise. They're gonna cheap out again at the end of this season after firing flus. This ownership does NOT want to win.
This was a great breakdown bro.!! Great detail, and I totally agree. When I am watching , I want the Bears to succeed; but I shake my head at so many things. It’s frustrating. I know it’s easy to be an armchair QB, but honestly, I really don’t think I would make some of those mistakes. And then to not admit the mistakes, like you didn’t learn a damn thing?? I would hire Eric Washington as head coach and see what he’s got. Waldron is on the hot seat too. Time to grow up boys!!
I recently watched an NFL Throwback on the NFL's greatest rivalries and Bears/Packers was no longer #1. Coming from a sworn enemy who's also not too dense to realize the role we play in shaping each other's identity, I'm saying that I need you to get your shit together guys.
I drank the Bears Koolaid before the season, not to the extent of believing they'd make the Super Bowl, but thinking they'd make the playoffs and maybe even win a game. That's definitely not out of the realm of possibility, but my preseason pick for coach of the year was Matt Eberflus because I thought there was no way he could screw up a roster so loaded with talent. I picked the wrong NFC North head coach-I should've seen the Kevin O'Connell ascent coming, but I didn't think Sam Darnold was that guy or that their defense would be as good as it's been.
Crazy I’ve seen all these new Hail Mary defenses from blitzing the qb to loading one side and then here’s the bears doing the one thing allows a Hail Mary to happen. Rushing 3 in a base formation against 6 blockers lol. You would think they just take a page out of someone’s book.
Its a funny dichotomy really. Waldron is willing to copy cute stuff from other OCs like having an O-lineman run the ball in at goal line. Or having a pint sized WR block a big NFL edge lineman. Won't get positive results but he's willing to be stubborn about it. Meanwhile nobody is trying to re-invent the wheel on defense because they play behind the offense on principle. But you have Eberflus playing 3 lineman to contain and 1 to spy on Jayden Daniels. With the possible intention that Daniels kills them with a successful 52 yrd scramble run to score and win the game. The worst part about it is that the way Eberflus goes about his process and how its scripted almost validates the folks who believe in the conspiracy theory that the NFL is rigged.
Alternatively, look at how the Bills defended the Hail Mary vs. the Jets a few weeks ago: they rushed two, Rodgers had all the time in the world to choose his footing and fling the ball, and they got a TD at the end of the half. The Bears had all the evidence they needed for what they should do from this season alone even if they ignored all previous statistics.
About the hail Marys, the Packers had two shots at it week 1 in Brazil and the Eagles brought pressure TWICE. The result was a injuried knee for Jordan Love and a sack in Malik Willis to end the game. You GOTTA disrupt the play in this situation and live with the results of it, they will more often than not be positive for the defense

Bears are like a carousel ride, just keeps on going in a circle, and NOTHING changes. So frustrating to watch as a Bears fan. Great video man.
Man, I’m sorry. Packers are my bread and butter but I hate it when I see situations like this even amongst the rivals. It sucks and you have my sympathy.

As an avid Bears fan, I normally have something to add in the comments to really drive a narrative. But Brett did a fantastic job describing my pain in excruciating detail.
Well done brother.
As soon as the ball left Caleb's fingertips on that fade to DJ, I screamed "WHY THE F*CK ARE THEY THROWING IT???!!!!!"
Same bro... same!
Bro I yelled out “fucking run it 4 times! Wtf are you guys doing!?” And my whole family looked at me like a madman 😂
Reminded me of seahawks vs patriots haha
I'm used to it as a Jags fan with Doug Pederson
Four losses with at least 91% win probability in the fourth quarter now
@BrettKollmann how can Eberflus come back from hanging the players out for his and Waldron's fuckups? Surely there isn't a path back now, all bridges have been burned?
A coach blowing 2 games would be fireable, let alone 4. Flus should go now so we can get started on next year.
How you do not do that is beyond me.
cheap team with a loser mindset
I think Ben Johnson wants a ring with the lions
Not to mention, if Caleb could win ROTY, Waldron would get HC opportunities. If not, the whole coaching staff is probably gone, meaning Caleb has a lame-duck OC
They could have had Kliff Kingsbury you know the guy who litterly helped caleb get ready for the NFL through college
Coaches almost never move to another team within their own division.
Waldron just said in a presser he has no regrets on the play call(handing off to a lineman down 5 at the one) and said he has no regrets and would call it again if he had to do it over
Fire everyone
the ego on these asshole coaches is astounding
The definition of insanity….
and what's so dumb is when you're a leader, even if you called the correct play, even if everyone knows you called the correct play, and absolutely knows the players screwed it up, you still go in front of the press and take blame. Sure, you give your team hell in practice and hold them accountable, but in front of everyone, even IF everyone knows you're lying, you still just take the heat because that's what a leader does, takes the heat.
Meanwhile Doug Pederson is over here cashing checks while ruining the career of Trevor Lawrence while being smug in the process
Lmfao, ok
Lawrence stinks. Pederson isn’t the only person to blame.
@Sindrella. Which QB could you slot into this Jacksonville team that could immediately turn the team around? I don't think there _are_ any.
Who assembled this Jags? Pederson or their GM?

This had to be made, thank you for putting my relationship with this team in such a well made video. My first memory of the Bears was seeing Devin Hester return a kick (in a green bay packer household) during the superbowl and seeing my father get all happy & excited, I had no idea why he was so absurdly pissed later in the night.
it took us drafting caleb williams for everyone to pay attention to how bad eberflus has been these past almost 3 seasons lol unbelievable
I hate to be that guy, because this Washington game was inexcusable, BUT...... I'm almost positive Flus was ordered to play tank ball so they could better build out of the draft, which he actually did a fine job of. Now that it's time to finally play ball and we get this bs???? Unbelievable
Nobody thought Eberflus was great lol
@@garrethbolandYeah I'm convinced of that too because Luke Getsy is not a good coordinator but he COMPLETELY abandoned his good run concepts in 2023. Justin Fields designed runs was the Bears entire offense and he abandoned it

I can say as a Dallas fan that I miss Dan Quinn. It was nice having a solid defense for like two years
The whole bit of being compared to Jayden Daniels confuses me.

Except brett couldn't give less of a fuck about the jags 💀
@spicybolitas4906 well that's true
Eberflus isn't doing ish for the Bears defense either. They're both really shitty head coaches, it isn't a competition.
@Nichrysalis Dude their defense is ranked like top 5 in most categories
@@NichrysalisNo you’re wrong there. The defense is great and there’s no denying his job as a defensive coordinator. It’s that Eberflus has consistently been a poor game manager which is what he said he would specialize in when he was hired at the head coach.
Brett that was close! Only made the sponsor deadline by like 20 minutes. Great vid as always.
Bears fans before the game "JD will get exposed and CW will take over as top rookie"

Brett you are my icon don't even need to watch the video fully to know it's a banger
In Flus' defense, he isn't an NFL head coach lol. The man is in DEEP over his head. Great video! Love your stuff!
It’s almost worse of a scenario if the Bears finish the season above .500 because the talent and weak schedule is bailing out the bad coaching
Or maybe the coaching is just mediocre and not bad? Coaching changes a lot through a season
Thank you for the honesty and passion Brett. I totally agree with you. Lifetime Bears Fan we need change.
You didn't even mention the best part about that goal line fade. Why are you throwing it to DJ Moore and not the 6ft 3 receiver you just drafted to do exactly that
I hear Roschon Johnson is pretty good with these short yardage runs. But I guess not good enough if it means he has the opportunity to score as well.

The only ray of hope and why this time is different is that if we make a change at HC, Caleb is legit enough to deal with it and succeed. Comparing him to Trubisky and Fields is unfair. He is light years ahead of both of them in the ability to process things mentally on the field.
I knew we were cooked with Waldron after that goal line sequence
“Bad Process” are the two best words to describe the Chicago Bears organization
Yes Brett. PLEASE say everything wrong with the Bears. We need the Kollman curse to work in our favor. I still remember being optimistic with the JF1 video
Does he jinx everything?
I was at the game and am a lifelong Bears fan. Here’s what I wrote Sunday night:
I see the media is now trying to blame the game on Tyrique Stevenson talking junk to the crowd when he was supposed to get into position to defend.

Film question. How are you able to get access to these camera angles?
@3:12 not only was the play called questionable, you can see in 3 seconds 3 bears offensive lineman are on the ground and one second later a fourth offensive lineman joins the other 3 on the ground. The execution of that play was beyond horrendous. That’s why Swift was gang tackled. His entire offensive line was on the ground.

Subscribed and Bear Down
I’ve had conversations with friends about the Bears before they drafted Caleb.
"You tried to reverse psychology the Kollman Curse didnt you Squidward"
Crazy part is, Brett said this would be a playoff team just 2 months ago. You just were praising the bears all off season.
Love your channel... Keep up your good work
How'd I miss this the first time around? Guess the algorithm brought it back to me after the blackest Friday
Here after Waldron was canned lol Flus pulling out all the stops to attempt to save his job
Brett literally said “the curse can’t possibly make things work” and now I’m terrified of the consequences
Waldron getting overly cute with the playcalls was a common thing he did in Seattle too
As a Packers fan this video brings me great joy
I finally found peace after this L on Sunday and then Brettt goes and drops this and I’m pissed off even more so than I was then.
Finally my monthly 2 am brett kollman post!
"They are who we THOUGHT they were, and we let 'em off the hook!!"
Brett Sara Landry reference makes me so happy, worlds collide
