Hi Ben, appreciate the update! My doctor only allowed me to keep my balloon in 7m. Got it out on 4/22. There’s so much inconsistency with regards to how long you can keep it in. I lost 50lbs and 50 inches. After month 3 I honestly never felt it. Had no nausea and could eat what I wanted. In the end I went on phentermine which helped with the cravings. I can feel myself slipping into old habits and too scared to weigh myself for fear of putting on weight, but I’ll have to face that fear this week. I kind of wish I would of done the bypass or waited and did the adjustable spaztz that they’re trailing now. I’m halfway to my goal (we’ll I was…).
Man, I sure hope that everything works out for you! I had the same thought of, "Do I just wait until something new or better comes along?" and just decided to go for it. I am still a big dude, so if something not super invasive and affordable comes out... I will definitely still be open to it. It's so hard!
Just had mine removed after 6 mos. I paid $5500. I vomited once the day of insertion. I had no sickness or nausea throughout my 6 mos. The only discomfort was it took too long for food to digest especially meat. A lot gassy when I ate meat. I eventually gave up eating meat in my 5th month and it was wonderful. I will continue to not eat meat. My stomach just feels so much better without meat. I worked out off & on prior to procedure but my issue was menopause. It’s more of a challenge to lose weight during menopause. With the balloon I started 3 times a week but during the last month I worked out 4 to 5 times a week and I truly enjoy it. Maybe because I use to be very athletic in high school. I lost a total of 42 lbs. with Orbera my goal is to lose about 35 more pounds. I used the procedure as a jump start to Weightloss. I would definitely recommend the procedure. Also I did incorporate intermittent fasting. I did not take any Weightloss supplements as I feel as soon as you stop taking them you eat more and gain even more weight than previously weighed. Good luck.
Hi Ben I have the same Ballon So we're able to keep it in for a year They have me scheduled for 6 months I would like to push a little more so I think I going to ask keep it a little longer 😊 push for some lbs
hey Ben? i'm about to have my first consult to get the balloon and came across you and subscribed =). May I ask, if there was one thing you wish you knew when you decided to get it done, or one thing you might do differently, what would it be? And if you can let me know ANY questions I should ask up front that you wished YOU asked, what would it be? Any advice would be appreciated if you're not too busy?
Hey Lisa! I wish I would have known how much of it was mental. I thought it would be a LOT more physical limitation as opposed to a mental thing. It was physical at the front, but after a few months, it was all mental discipline... which is GOOD because I need discipline for when it is out. I can't think of any other questions really!
@@BenWinterman oh wow Ben thank you SO SO much for the reply. this helps me cuz i'm scared LOL. Just one more thing? Were you still having cravings or big time hunger during months after? ( i know u said u get so many people messaging you so i don't want to overstep and make you annoyed)
I’m hoping to get Thai done! I have 55 pounds to lose. I have a binge eating disorder, also my medication has made me gain soo much weight and I cannot lose it!
I am planning on getting the procedure done, @270lbs - hoping to go down by 45lbs with this procedure. My question is how soon one can start exercising?
Hey! So, there is a BMI range that they recommend for getting the balloon, and I was right near the top. But I think that it will depend on the provider! If you are seriously considering, I would ask whomever does the procedures what their rules are.
i got the same problem i got the Orbera for 12 months im 1 month in and i dont feel sick i can over eat hell i can stuff a whole pizza in and i dont feel no naucea att all
