OMG I was trying to find your IG post on this very material a few days ago but couldn't find it, (or it might even have been an IG story that was already deleted). I was thinking to myself too bad he didn't have a youtube channel. FInally you are here, thanks a lot for hearing my prayers!!
He actually has a story highlight that takes you straight to a whole entire moss pole guide. It has been my moss pole handbook 😂 Its labeled "moss pole guide"
I came here from your Insta page. I’m SO happy you finally started a channel! You’re amazing amazing plant Dad and I’m excited to continue learning from you !So inspired by you. Much love from Canberra ❤️🥰
@@sydneyplantguy Hi just found you and love your vids already! Being from Sydney could you please tell me where you get your pumice from as I haven't been able to find anything decent. Thank you kindly in advance 😁
Great video! I absolutely love your Instagram reels, and am so happy to see that you have started a UA-cam channel! Thank you for all of your informative videos/reels. I wish you the best of luck, you’ll be a natural hit.
Thank you for sharing. Your plants are out of this world. I have never seen anything like it! Please tell me where you get the clear plastic grow pots. All I find are orchid pots with lots of holes along the sides.
Amazing video! You answered so many questions I was asking myself while watching haha. I can only hope I can get my plants as lush as yours. Would love an update video months from now!
You are my "work breaks", so calm and so informative. Your love for your plants just resonate in the videos. This is super helpful for me - i have a couple of pothos plants that are raring to go up, up, up!
Amazing video! I’m from US and have been following your IG for awhile which is one of the best plant IG pages on the planet. So excited for this new expanded media form. Welcome to UA-cam! Another subscriber earned!
Thank you, I love watching your videos about your moss poles. I can't wait to start making my own for all of my monsteras that are just hanging over their pots and look so unhappy. It is the most natural way to display the aroids so that they can mature like they do naturally in the rain forests. BTW I already ordered a handful of the oxalis triangularis bulbs and can't wait for them to sprout and make a beautiful pot of lush oxalis like yours. You are so inspirational and Thank you for giving me new purpose

Thank u so much! Hoping for more vids of how it will grow well. Kiddos!!!😊😊😊😊
I'm really enjoying binging these vids which are giving me so much confidence to replant my collection which I've traditionally struggled with not over watering so I'll be building these poles and making a big tub of mix. The mix is actually already really similar to what I make for my reptiles bioactive enclosures. Thanks so much for the fantastic info 👏👍
This is an incredible video! I’m itching to try a moss pole for the first time. Can you purchase a new, young plant and then immediately repot in a new pot with a moss pole? 😮 Or is it more recommended to grow the new plant as a “mother” plant, propagate from that plant, and then pot those cuttings with the moss pole?
I’ve started many poles because of your ig! Thanks for making this video so more people can share this knowledge. Thank you for being you ❤️ btw you did great on your first video
Don't these get top heavy and fall? Have you ever tried vented pots to do a soil mix at the bottom? And maybe have a larger potted plant with a large moss pole?
Hi from NZ just found your videos theyre awesome.. would you consider making a video for beginners? tip tricks etc? i feel like ive been potting my plants too tight eek . have a good one
very nice....re: moss poles, will these only benefit plants that have air roots or creepers? If i use a moss pole, basically for support on growing plant, will there be any benefit? can you provide a list of plants that would benefit from being on moss poles......really enjoyed this
I use moss poles for climbing aroids only. There are way to many climbing aroids for me to put a list together but if you check out my instagram you'll find a lot of plants I grow on moss poles which can serve as your inspiration :) I always # the plant name in my posts too
Love your videos! Is it possible to link to all the products you buy from local shops. In how you made your potting mix I would love to know which spacific product you bought.
Thank you for your passion!!! Do you always spray the pole, not water from the top? Do you only water to the height of the plant? If so, won't the higher moss dry out?
Loving all your videos Jan, thank you so much for showing us all your tips and sharing your knowledge. I see your are using CCS to encourage root growth. I have a bottle Hydroponic Nutrient by Manutec. Do you think l can use this, it does state it promotes good root system? My sons have moved out, so these are my new babies haha, can't wait to learn more :)
Hi Jan, I watched your video on making moss poles and realised I was looking for wrong mesh wire 🤦♀️. So I bought one and made my first moss pole and planted my mini mostera on the moss pole! More to come. Love your videos 😊
By placing the plant roots directly into the pot without medium between the roots and bottom, don't you find the roots growing out the bottom of the pot?
This is your first video on your moss garden? That’s crazy. Your videos have improved so greatly over the course of 9 months. Way to go my man 👊🏼 I love your content.

This is soooo helpful! Thank you! Now I feel confident to make my own moss pole. The ones I’ve purchased for a lot of money seem kind of worthless. Yay! Thank you for this tutorial.
Jan!! Loving these videos, just wondering about your watering habits for these poles. Do you always water using that pump sprayer? And how often/where do you water them? I bring my poles into the shower to fully soak the pole and I find they dry out again in about 5 days or less.
with bigger monsteras do you also use the pot with the roots in inside a plantpot? Or do you plant the mosspole directly into the soil in the plantpot?
I notice you have only moist the moss up to plant height and left the top dry. So its okay to leave them dry until the aerial root has not accessed them yet?
I’ve made my first moss pole today, but it seems to be somewhat unstable in a pot. How high is the plastic transparent pot you use in this video? Thanks for the great video and tips!
Oops... Another one. My monstera is soon to get a me Jan-moss-pole. It already had long aerial roots. Do i connect them to the pole? Let them dangle? Cut them off?
You can fill the pole with any substrate you like. But a heads-up: you want to make the pole as water retentive as possible or u'll end up having to water it ALL THE TIME
Thank you for your clear explanation. I potted up a few plants this way today. But I have one moss pole left, how do I store it best? Should I keep the moss moist or can it dry out? And how long can I leave it unused?
Great Video! Thank you for all the advice :) What do you when being on vacation? How often do the mosspoles have to be watered? Or is there another solution, like a self-watering mosspole variation?

Hi!

It’s just called ‘propagation sand’ but honestly don’t stress about it, it won’t make or break ur mix
Do you have to water the moss pole forever or just until roots starts to hold on to the moss?
You need to water it especially once the roots have grown into the pole. Basically treat the pole like you would treat the pot & potting medium
I cannot get over how gorgeous your leaves are! I'm just in awe. What's your secret!
No secret :) just good conditions, consistent care & a lot of time

I’m using lots of Leca with the smaller plants, but wondering if I would destroy my bigger plants by disturbing them. Watering just the poles sounds way easier than always worrying about root rot!
Don’t fix what’s not broken :) but the plant should be able to survive the repot easily :)

I tie my splendid on to the pole(i make the pole following your tutorial video), but the roots on the vine didn't grow into the pole, they withered.....so now I only have the bottom roots.....is there something I should do to encourage the roots grow and get into the pole?
If you keep the pole moist new roots will automatically grow into it. Roots seek moisture
@@sydneyplantguy yeah, I find my moss pole quite dry, I will water it more, many
thanks!
