@Giovanni Giorgio Valtteri Bottas NEVER had a car setup for HIM. Every Merc he ever drove was a setup used as a test for future use in the #44. He never got to drive a car optimized for him, even when he was on pole. Think about that for a moment. Read the social media of the team mechanics.
@@santiagodelbono1 I like VB a lot. He's blindingly quick in qualifying at times but he doesn't have the consistency in racing. I think he's too nice and lacks the killer instinct to get a WDC trophy.

PPL like bottas respect others but are very cautious and does not take risk, I can see hamilton quitting (I could be wrong), after him leaving the sport, next 10years max is gonna dominate the sport and surpass Schumacher......unless person like him arises from somewhere somehow and forces max his own strategy, but that's not gonna happen for at least 5 years if max keeps his pace and of course stays in F1(which he will ).

I think I speak for everyone when I say: Thank you Valtteri, a great personality and a great team member, whilst you may have not been the best challenge to Lewis over the last 5 years, you have been a pillar of stability for the team and we will miss you.
The last race after qualifying 6th, Toto said: ”Valtteri, suberb job with that engine!” . I think that sums up quite well the Merc career. Nico was able to demand the equal car because even Toto would not mess with Nico’s father, Keke.
I'm actually in tears after hearing toto say Your kids will have them one day.It's really sad to see him leave.That 10+1 and toto saying i robbed had me dying.
"One day, your child should have it", meaning that child is welcome at Mercedes, that's just heart wearming and at least, a payback for all the times Valteri had to hold back. In the end, there still was a reward. Beautiful. Valteri's genuine smile actualy made me happy.
I really appreciate that Toto is willing to openly state that he “robbed” Valtteri at Sochi. I think it says positive things about Toto as a manager that he is willing to say it out loud like that, that he recognises what a sacrifice it was for Valtteri to make for the team. All the best Valtteri, drive fast and drive safe wherever you are, you are one of the best racing drivers in the world.
@@Timtimzi Mercedes made Bottas cede the race lead to Hamilton, so that Hamilton would have a better chance at retaining the driver's championship title. As it turned out, it wasn't that close in the end anyhow and was not consequential to Hamilton but was very much so for Bottas in the final standings... and so Bottas basically "lost" a race because Mercedes wanted Hamilton to finish 1st.
For whatever reason I want to dislike Toto, maybe he's just too put together and successful, maybe because I heard he was a stock broker haha, or something about the way he comes off seems smug and elitist - but the more I see and hear of him the more sympathetic I find he is. He does seem to be a straight shooter and more humble than I first thought. Probably once Mercedes starts losing more I'll like him more.

I live in San Francisco and moving to Austin Texas in January. I’m New to F1 racing and 6 months ago I couldn’t tell you anything about this sport. But here I am watching a goodbye video and feeling all the emotions because of what I witnessed over the last few months. I’m not a fan of waking up at 5am to see the races but between UA-cam and Netflix I can keep up with all the drama and excitement. Great season, Great team 👍 P.S… I stopped drinking RedBull

Top guys both of them, valeteri such a pro but yet tried to match Lewis with pure speed but it was mostly the mental and consistent performance that he struggled with no doubt he showed how quick he is. And toto is the best man manager in the business honest fair but also firm 💙

This relationship makes so much more sense to me now that I know Toto one of was Valtteris managers at least until he left Mercedes. 🙂 Also I know where all the trophys are (it's mentioned in an interview or book somewhere) but I can understand that he doesn't want the whole world in internet to know it. It's totally a security risk when a) there are so many crazy fans who would do anything to get one b) monetary value of those are so high.

Not a Merc fan but Valterri is easily one of the most likeable drivers on the grid. Knew he wasn't their number one driver but that didn't stop him from producing for the team and contributing to Merc's dominance of the WCC. Not a Merc fan but Valterri is easily one of the most likeable drivers on the grid. Knew he wasn't their number one driver but that didn't stop him from producing for the team and contributing to Merc's dominance of the WCC. A solid driver and an even better team player, the perfect teammate. Looking forward to his ventures with Alfa and whatever the future holds for VB77.
