I get regular get deliveries from Walmart every month. The insides are filled with the brown wrapping paper as fillers to keep the items from shifting in the delivery process. I am on disability and have plenty of time, so I take the brown paper out and painstakingly iron it all flat ( rolling it up into tubes to be used later to cover the boxes later. ) I've found a home made recipe for making glue, so I can make it as strong as I want. Very cheaply. Now, having all of this cardboard, I can measure the space & cut the cardboard to the size I need and build my own storage containers to fit to my desired dimensions. I then glue the brown paper to the boxes, giving it a nice and uniform look. I have tons of ribbon and other fabrics that I can then decorate the boxes to create a more cohesive look to give it the desired affect. Cheap & easy ~ just time consuming, but I'm very happy with the results.🌹 Thanks for sharing all of your wonderful ideas with us. 🌹 You have been a life saver for me 🌹
Boy, are we alike!!!! I was getting Walmart delivered for a little while too... and frozen bags have a perfect piece of cardboard at the bottom!!! I've saved every single one of them!!!! They are just too useful to discard! I'd love to see one of your storage containers all finished!!!! You can share photos to my Crafty Organizer page on Facebook: facebook.com/groups/730125317461615/
i CAN RELATE 1000% to Jan Smith's comments. Too make a long story short; my husband and I took care of our parents for 22 years plus working full-time. All our projects got put on the back burner, even our knee surjuries. With both of us in recovery mode from other surjuries, I have my hobby room to de-clutter and reorganize. And yes, what a challenge!!!! My husband surprised me and I have an upgraded, new embroidery machine coming in a week. I make toddler activity blankets out of fleece and minky. 3 more orders came in so, our dear clutter fairy, keep the videos coming!!! I watch the videos, save the ones I think will work for my room.
I recently organized my front hall closet storage. I told everything out, lined up the contents by category and shopped for containers in my basement storage room. I found things I didn't know I had! Watch out pantry: you are next!
You nailed it, all of my favorite storage containers from the Dollar Tree. I've been using g them for YEARS, I even passed my old ones down to my daughter for her crafting supplies a few years ago, they still looked like brand new and she was stoked to save money when I gave her my old ones. She is an organizer just like her mom. ✌& 💘 to ALL!
I LOVE those stacking drawers! I have them in all sizes (they have some really large ones), but I've NEVER paid full price. When I noticed that my local thrift stores had them pretty frequently, I made a point of stopping at whichever thrift I happened to be near while running errands. It was difficult to break the habit once I had enough drawers!LOL So look for them at Good Will, etc. They'll usually need a good cleaning, but I'm fine with that.
I’m the crazy lady of the dollar tree!!! In spite of not having a “real” dollar tree here in Brazil (things cost a little bit more), but I walk all arround the shop and measure every box and container to see if it’s the best option I have. Loved the video!!!
I so remember this....Clutter Fairy...I was surprised you started in 2016. I actually thought I had been watching long before that, Oh Miss Noreen, how time flys.
I recently bought the long rectangle bins from Dollar Tree. I was delighted to discover that in 3 of my drawers, they fit perfectly, horizontally, across the top of the drawer. It almost doubled my drawer storage in those 3 drawers.
Salt and pepper shakers for glitter is genius! I'm the keeper of our resource room at my preschool and this idea would help soooo much! Thanks for sharing!
I use the small plastic shoe boxes in my dresser drawers to organize socks and underwear. They work best if you roll the underwear and you can see the color you want instead of have to go through a stack to get to the one on the bottom. These also work in my husband's sock draw to sort the different colors of socks since he is color blind. When the socks are all sorted and in the boxes I label the top edge of the box with the color name so he can find what he needs to match and putting clothes away after washing is much easier this way. Been doing this for many years.
I love those drawers! I use the larger ones to keep both cut and uncut patterns in one place. I also use plain gallon storage bags from the dollar store to keep all the pieces of my cut patterns together, with the pattern envelope facing the outside so I can see what pattern it is.
Also at Dollar stores - for small items, like earrings and such, look in either the crafts section or the auto section. They often have small plastic boxes with sections for small items. Some designs are stack-able. Also, for anyone with jewelry beads (or again, other small items) a "fishing tackle box" at Walmart is about 4 bucks; a "jewelry organizer box" at one of the box craft stores will be closer to 10 bucks - for the same thing! Another organizing idea is to use shoe-pocket organizers that go over a door. In my bathroom, I have one that hangs over the door, and I use it to organize my nail polish (by shade, of course!) and other small make-up items. The pockets are clear, it holds a lot of items, and I can easily see what I need & then put it right back in its pocket.
Excellent ideas!! Love thinking outside the box - I always say, there is no "ONE WAY" to organize. Find what works FOR YOU! :) Thanks so much for the great suggestions.
I love the salt and pepper shaker idea for glitter that is something I wouldn't have thought of...your so very helpful and creative. Please keep making your videos I love watching and learning from them!
Those three drawer units are so nice...I use them to divide up my crafting supplies (e.g..... Christmas in one, Easter in one, birthday supplies etc).. Works great for me
I love those shoe boxes! I use tons of them in my craft room. I use them for ribbon, washi tape, envelopes, they hold smaller containers of embellishments, the list goes on. You are absolutely right though, you definitely want the ones that have the covers that lock in place.
Before I retired from teaching I used the Sterlite stacking drawers in my classroom. I had 6 of them. Perfect for storing writing and copy paper, lesson copies, clear binder sheets, etc.
Great videos. My problem is not having a mess, in fact most things are in plastic baskets on shelves, but of different colors and sizes and I'd like everything to be in containers of one type and size as much as possible.. So the containers you have shown has been useful to me. I live in Israel so I can't go to the Dollar Tree, but we do have a shop called Max, which has containers of all types and sizes. So thank you.
I use the sterilite drawers for everything too. I have pull out drawers in my kitchen pantry. I put all my spices in abc order and then put into the drawers. they hold bullion cubes, cupcake holders and food dye tubes also.
just came across your video.. my sewing room is a NIGHTMARE!!. I got a cricut machine to cut material to exact shape for embroidery ornaments..well I have gotten into paper crafting, I said I never would. oh my, .. my walk way into room is getting smaller..but I liked your idea of going thru to see what containers you need instead of getting contains and trying to fit things in..thanks for all your info. I have used some of the dividers from dollar store. used in drawers in kitchen at camp. thanks again..
This makes me rethink how I go about buying storage containers. I am going to be getting some new furniture for my craft room and I want to make the best use of it. Thanks so much.
I like having a bit of a mishmash of containers that aren’t planned for something particular, as when I do randomly decide to organize something or change something, I can usually find one that works. But it’s definitely key to not overbuy and just have a ton taking up space. 👍🏻 I’m sorting the rest of my house now, my craft space will be last, I’m excited about doing it but also terrified about how much there is to organize there! 🤣
I've seen many of these containers in my Dollar Tree and Dollar General. Tysm for reminding me about ordering from Dollar Tree! And yes I often buy containers without knowing of it will serve my needs. You've helped me with that! I have drawers that were supposed to be for clothes then ended up with goodies & personal items in them. I'll figure it all out. I'm always changing my mind.
Trying to organize my craftroom now and because I do different crafts I have large totes to put different crafts in each one for now. Leatherwork, mosaics, clay, and I like your ideas on storing material. My job gives me so much access to cardboard that they just throw away. I think I can build dividers with a little duct tape
Another INCREDIBLY INSIGHTFUL VIDEO !!!... I am getting ready to attempt attacking a HUGE, UNDERTAKING OF ORGANIZING ALL OF MY CRAFT SUPPLIES into a small, extra bedroom, which also serves as a home office and to sleep very occasional overnight guests with a pull-out neutral loveseat when needed, so talk about a CHALLENGE !!!... What a COMPLETE AND UTTER NIGHTMARE !!!!... Plus, my whole entire house aesthetic is rustic, country, primitive, so at this point I am COMPLETELY OVERWHELMED and can use all of the help that I can get at trying to address all of these many issues !!!... So, your video's have been VERY HELPFUL !!! ❤❤❤
Thank you so very much. I like the 10-minute suggestion and just work on one area. It's so doable I'll be doing that most days of the week until my quilt room is complete. Thanks!
Oh my gosh, did you ever have a email series? I use to subscribe to this email where I got daily and weekly tips for organizing and over when I switch my email account to gmail account I forgot to add it to my new account and lately I have been thinking about this series! And whamo.... this morning I started UA-cam and there you are.... I am soo greatful.
I love the salt and pepper idea. Brilliant! We don’t have a dollar store (obviously) in the UK but we have ‘Poundland’ and ‘Pound Stretchers’ and lots of other bargain shops. Not forgetting charity shops. 👍😃
Funny story - I DID! And when I was reviewing the footage - I saw things that still needed to be done! HAHAHA That tip about taking a photo to see your clutter really works! Will re-shoot and post by next weekend.
Hi, I absolutely LOVE your videos. Please keep them coming. I've got a lot of organizing to do. Sometimes I don't know where to start, then I just get overwhelmed. Thanks for any input you have.
I'm a mixed media artist and so my "stash" is eclectic. I have storage that doesn't fit what I have. My collection of materials has evolved over the years so what I bought or made for storage then doesn't correspond to what I have NOW. Thank you for the tips -- love your videos!
Hi from Australia! I’m loving your vids. I’m having a bit of a binge because I only just found you(liked and subbed, of course) However I’m gobsmacked by your prices over there, and that’s even before I think about the exchange rate. The Dollar Store actually has things for a dollar? And Walmart etc undercuts that? I’m so envious! That shallow drawer set would probably be five or six dollars here, and the larger container you show at the end would be four dollars or so. But I will keep on watching your vids, partly because I’m in the process of decluttering and organising, because I will soon have to downsize from a three bedroom house to a one and a bit bedroom in an apartment block. You’ve given me some good ideas just this afternoon, so thank you. I really like your channel and your style of presentation.
Hi, Bilinda!!!! Yikes! Wish some of these discount chains would expand to other parts of the world. I've tried looking for items online that ship worldwide - but it's a very tall order. Thanks so much for binge watching and subscribing!!!
I just found you and I’m so excited. I just started cleaning my craft room😱! I watched your craft room video and now this one and I got so many great ideas. I think I’m ready to tackle this task with breaks to watch more of your videos to inspire me. Thank you!
Love all these containers. I have purchased most of these and I am incorporating them into my sew/quilting room, (and elsewhere), but now I am trying to think of what to put the containers in/on. Love your tips. Thanks for all of them.
I really love the idea of putting small organizer different sizes into the small sliding drawers on the three drawer sterilite I would definitely be using this idea thank you and keep the ideas coming.
Did not know about the rubber maid products. I have many areas in my home to organize. My craft room could use these products, my chest of drawers in bedroom and my bathroom that the cupboards are a mess. I will look for other videos by you. Thanks so much for great ideas
I love the idea of the pepper shakers for glitter I don’t buy glitter because they come in tubes and I can’t get the top off and when I do it’s all over me or the floor thank you ❤️
As usual, great tips! I have used bins from the home improvement store (meant for screw and such) to store beads or smaller items. I love being organized and it's good Feng Shui!
This was a super helpful video! I loved seeing all of your favorite storage options. I've used and loved those sets of drawers for years. I did find out the hard way if you're storing something heavy you need to make sure it's in the bottom drawer, otherwise the weight will eventually cause a problem with the functioning of the drawers. I will definitely be looking for the small containers with the rubber bottom at my local Dollar Tree now that I know they fit in the sets of drawers!
Holy cow I was litterly just thinking of buying some new storage containers for my eBay business and this video popped up in my feed. Thank you! I subbed!
Thank you so much for sharing all those great suggestions. I’m in the process of organizing and decluttering. I’ve purchased some storage items for my craft stuff and some for other items from the DT. So I appreciate all your ideas, it really really helps. Thank you so much 😊

GENIUS, Norrine! Salt & Pepper Shakers for storing glitter!
I LOVE those stacking drawers!

Great idea!! And I agree - why pay full price when they are so easy to find at thrift stores! Thanks for the great reminder.
DT should be a sponsor of your channel. Love your ideas. You are so inspirational and beautiful. Thank you, Noreen! 💕💕🌸🦋🌼🌺
If I knew who to contact, I would! LOL
I’m the crazy lady of the dollar tree!!! In spite of not having a “real” dollar tree here in Brazil (things cost a little bit more), but I walk all arround the shop and measure every box and container to see if it’s the best option I have. Loved the video!!!
I never knew those Sterilite drawers broke apart! A great use in your closet for underwear and socks!
Right?! I think I found out by accident the first time. LOL I used that to my advantage going forward! :D
Good. I love the Dollar Tree stores!
I so remember this....Clutter Fairy...I was surprised you started in 2016. I actually thought I had been watching long before that, Oh Miss Noreen, how time flys.
You are a ray of sunshine! Love your videos
Oh!!! Thank you so much!
I like they way you show how to use containers. Some of us aren’t able to see it until you show us. Thank you so much
Haha! I also use the drawers in my scrap room!
I LOVE your glitter storage!
I recently bought the long rectangle bins from Dollar Tree. I was delighted to discover that in 3 of my drawers, they fit perfectly, horizontally, across the top of the drawer. It almost doubled my drawer storage in those 3 drawers.
Yay!!!!! So glad it helped! :D
Thanks for sharing . Superb idea for you glitter . I imagine you are very pleased with that. 👍🏻💛
It's the little things that make me happy. LOL :)
I like the salt shaker idea for glitter. I think embossing powder would work too!
It's worked really well for me! And I keep a tiny funnel near by to pour back after each color is used. Thanks!
Great video! Blessings!🥰
Thanks for this video. Just what I needed. Love your video's on getting organized..
I’m headed to Dollar Tree. So many great ideas.
Have fun!
Having jars for glitter and buttons plus small ribbons, great storeridge jars.like the way you break things down to small boxies like that.👍
Salt and pepper shakers for glitter is genius! I'm the keeper of our resource room at my preschool and this idea would help soooo much! Thanks for sharing!
OH!!! I would have so much fun organizing large quantities of supplies!!!!!! Thanks for watching!

Than k you. I like the salt & pepper idea for glitter :)
Works great for me
I must say the box that you had the glitter in was nice because it was the same size from the bottom to the top.
I love your ideas and tips thank you again for all
I love those shoe boxes! I use tons of them in my craft room. I use them for ribbon, washi tape, envelopes, they hold smaller containers of embellishments, the list goes on. You are absolutely right though, you definitely want the ones that have the covers that lock in place.
Right?? Hate when they slide off. LOL
Great ideas!
Love these videos
Great ideas. I have a serious organizing deficit. I’ll go to dollar tree this week. I’m trying to set up a sewing room. Thanks!

Maybe one day! I keep hoping to win the lottery and buy an RV - so I can travel and help people organize!!!
I use the long white one for sharp knives very good
I really like the shallow plastic drawers, prefect for storing my wooden stamps in .
Before I retired from teaching I used the Sterlite stacking drawers in my classroom. I had 6 of them. Perfect for storing writing and copy paper, lesson copies, clear binder sheets, etc.

You are so welcome! Let me know if you get stuck! :)
The bigger size, white storage container for drawers is also the best thing ever to feed kids in the car!

Do a before and after shot!!!!! It's always exciting and rewarding to see where you started. good luck!
I've seen many of these containers in my Dollar Tree and Dollar General. Tysm for reminding me about ordering from Dollar Tree! I’m a quilter so I use the gift wrapping paper container for all my rolled stabilizers.
Just wow.
Hoping a good "wow". :)

Love the salt and pepper shakers for glitters!
All great ideas! Thank you for them all.
Wonderful tips
Did not know about the rubber maid products. I have many areas in my home to organize. My craft room could use these products, my chest of drawers in bedroom and my bathroom that the cupboards are a mess. I will look for other videos by you. Thanks so much for great ideas
Great ideas. I like using the small zip bad you get in the jewelry crafting section. To keep small things together.
I love the glitter idea, how smart. Thanks for sharing 💗
I love the glitter idea in salt shakers (found at Dollar Tree of course)!
I love the idea of the pepper shakers for glitter I don’t buy glitter because they come in tubes and I can’t get the top off and when I do it’s all over me or the floor thank you ❤️
Glad I could help!
As usual, great tips! I have used bins from the home improvement store (meant for screw and such) to store beads or smaller items. I love being organized and it's good Feng Shui!
Great idea! I always enjoy looking at hardware stores for different ideas. Thanks for watching!
Great ideas!! Thank you!! 🙂👍
Holy cow I was litterly just thinking of buying some new storage containers for my eBay business and this video popped up in my feed. Thank you! I subbed!
Yay! Glad I could help!
Thanks for the information!
Thank you so much for sharing all those great suggestions. I’m in the process of organizing and decluttering. I’ve purchased some storage items for my craft stuff and some for other items from the DT. So I appreciate all your ideas, it really really helps. Thank you so much 😊
