This is amazing. I feel so bad for the people who have to work in this kind of assembly line setting. Same thing over and over and over and over and over.......
Some see it as strict standards... some say it's just flat out inefficient... Either way, that's a lot of production to make one batch of playable table tennis balls lol.
Wait, they don't hand-paint the logo's on them? I want my money back! No seriously, I'm still not very clear on how the halves are joined and how the visible seam is removed.
+Bas van der Graaff The halves are joined by first shaping one half and compressing it down slightly so the second half fits over the first. It's then sealed with some adhesive. The seam is minimized by a molding process, though in quality control the seam can still be seen in the form of a dark band around the equator.
Attila Kovács I see where the human touch makes things better in some parts, but a few spots (1:35 or 5:28 stand out) really aren't gaining anything at all. It might be partially cultural though, IIRC they don't really do layoffs in Japan like they do in other places.
+FluffY PenguiN automation does not equal greed. automation could be used to save millions of people from slave-like jobs. it's only if we decide to be greedy that it's a bad thing. if someone loses their job because of it we should have a society that takes this as a good thing, the can do other things now. also, it doesn't mean there's less jobs, people have to fill in the positions that deal with the automation.
They need to fix there Plastic balls do becouse they are CRAP!! LOVED there old balls. But now when we play with Plastic balls. Nittaku balls are not even playable.....
i enjoyed watching the entire steps involved, patience and team work
I found this video a few years ago and always wanted to find it again… And I did!
I was surprised at how slow and labour intensive this was, I was expecting it to be really fast and almost fully automated
+The True Fizz This video wasn't made yesterday buddy. Today its very different.
The True Fizz theres a reason there $4 a ball!
ZOMXZEDD you could buy 4 three-star balls for $4
Também pensava que fosse só derramar o material num frasco e soprar e voillaá
Wow! Makes a job at McDonalds looks like a little slice of heaven.
Couldn't have said it better. ^^
No matter how you look at it - it took a lot of balls to make this video.
Michael Coslo 😂😂😂😂😂
Nothing bounces like Cellulose Hexa-nitrate and Camphor!
Thanks for the upload .did not know making table tennis balls was so labour intensive
Not just only labor intensive. Serious engineering work as well. :)
Good table tennis balls are made with hands, with love... uhm yeah :D
Amazing how much work goes into making a top grade ping pong ball.
have you seen how hedgehoges are made hedgehoges ??????/ 🦔🦔🦔🦔🦔🦔🦔🦔
Sapucaia do Sul RS, Brasil.
Incrível e fascinante processo. Obrigado!
I've understood everything that was written:))
Nittaku 3 Stars best balls ever
Learned a lot.
thanks for upload this video. :)
Now I'd like to know the technology behind how seamless ping pong balls are made!
Yeah, the video seemed to skip over the step where the joining equator edge is trimmed off.
still made in Japan Nittaku ball is the best. more durable and better quality.
This is amazing. I feel so bad for the people who have to work in this kind of assembly line setting. Same thing over and over and over and over and over.......
What a magical place.
Very interesting !
Fascinating
The best ball for table tennis
Some see it as strict standards... some say it's just flat out inefficient... Either way, that's a lot of production to make one batch of playable table tennis balls lol.
Thank you so much and now I know how to make ping pong....I have asked many plastic experts but no one can answer me so far...!
AI is needed to produce a such beauty or.....human hands and brains
someone knows where i can buy this machine
UA-cam why hast thou recommended me this
Bravo !
Automation?
nice
Exellent
Thanks nice !!!!!! :)
Can't believe still it took much manual effort.
This could have been 11 minutes shorter tbh. But great to see. Very labour intensive.
I thought it would be something to do with a vacuum.
Japanese quality
يا ولاد الجنيه مش احنا نصحه ندور هناكل ايه
The 40+ ball - plastic ball started 2014-2015... this is outta date
Fractionally more interesting than actually watching table tennis.
4 months!!!
a half automatic and hand made :-) .
when will be the process all automatic by machine?????
In the most precise manufacturing is indispensable for human labor. Just as important as the pepper in the goulash.
hmmm interesting
Ein uralter Film, denke ich……
What a waste of water still great vid

TheAllBlackMan Thanks!
Why do the producers of on line videos refuse to have closed captions? My rating for this video is a big fat "THUMBS DOWN"
No wonder they are way more expensive then made in China.
grade A B C... from here 10:39
Really? It's a great idea
Potato chips? :)
Yes. Bon appetite! ;)
it was like eggs
''ARBEIDSINTENSIEF'' ZO'N BALLETJE MAG WEL EEN PRIJS HEBBEN !
I did really understand what is written😡😡
No wonder they are so expensive. This process needs to be automated.
The complete automation worsen the precision. (The hobby balls make it ful automatisation. This is the reason for the cheap price's)
Attila Kovács I see where the human touch makes things better in some parts, but a few spots (1:35 or 5:28 stand out) really aren't gaining anything at all. It might be partially cultural though, IIRC they don't really do layoffs in Japan like they do in other places.
+LhetGou May not seem it doesn't gain much, but once a person is into professional table tennis, differences starts to become clear while playing.

No effort for the video. Didnt put subtitles
