thanks for this video. Interested in more product design content! I also had similar computer science engineering background but wasn't into coding but always had passion for design. I'm a UX designer at a startup now :D
Thought the regular applying system. Just go to the company's careers page, look for openings, and apply for jobs with your information. HR gets this info.
@@siddiquirayyan no luck till now. It's not just FAANG. None of these design agencies and companies look at the mail or applications. I don't even receive a sorry, you're not an eligible candidate mail. Irony is I am applying for UX jobs, but the UX in hiring is extremely bad in all these companies.
@@Shanmu_s4 That sucks. Just keep trying and hopefully something will happen. I think it's also a bit of a weird time in the design industry because it is going through a revolutionary time rn. Many design process are now being automated or don't need much human expertise because of generative art AI.
Kinda disappointed - only because I was hoping for a showcase of this designers unique “design thinking” process given their PM role. Would love to see if you can have him back, for a mock exercise. How does a product manager to designer contextualize a hypothetical question. There is ton’s of comments on how limitations is what sets a “example” project aside from a “real project” . If so, providing an example of how a person who ONLY works on “real projects” would break down a hypothetical problem would be NICCCCCCE 🎉
Wow, opportunity from Project manager to Product designer. That's so cool and unique.

That's an awesome suggestion. I should try that in any future episodes.
Just you know Microsoft is not among the FAANG
Ofc I know. FAANG is popular word for a YT title 😊
I have not seen 1 white male in any of these “I got hired as a UX designer” videos. Interesting.
I wonder why… 🤔
@@siddiquirayyan I don’t wonder why…
why? i don't understand 😅
