There is one that I've been doing recently (f2p), the allure of this one is that it is that the money making part is the side effect of xp grinding. Though, to be fair, I am not knowledgeable about RuneScape enough to say with certainty that this qualifies as "unusual"
I've been buying gold bars and gems on the GE, make necklaces out of them, then high alch it. The profit margins between Sapphire, Emerald, Ruby, and Diamond is roughly the same (each makes me roughly 200k/hr), so it's best to make diamond ones for the xp. This way I can get about 69k crafting xp, and 50k magic xp per hour crafting at Edgeville.
Hi Soup! Been sitting on this one a while, buy iron bars and hiking boots from GE and then add the spikes at burthorpe and sell spiked boots at GE for 300% profit. Overnight seller though.

I've got a nice unusual moneymaker for you that mostly evolves around buying lockpicks!
The vendor at Rogues den basically sells all sorts of items under the GE value (and hes literally standing next to the bank). Basically you want to buy all the lockpicks on every world (&maybe some extra knives). Lockpicks have quite a high daily volume (90k atm) and they tend to sell for 250-300 on tp (current price @ 310, while shop price is 20gp).
Its a moneymaker 0 requirements that has often earned me anywhere between 1.5-2m per hour
You should check out my little favorite unusual. Buying color dye in the Lletya at the dye shop for 6 coins each. Purple and Orange dye can go for upwards of 800 coins each in G.E. Not sure what the X/hr is worth but in like 5 minutes i made like 130k coins.

For the black scim farm, having a farming cape might be a better option. You can bank at the farming guild and run north to the spirit tree to repeat.

@@Jereboyy farming cape is the supreme mid-game home-base-teleport item. combined with the spirit tree it's comparable to the construction cape in usefulness since the farming guild has a bank right next to the spirit tree

@@Farvadude I don't have a cons/crafting cape on the iron yet but the farming cape is absolutely incredibly useful. Bank + POH right next to each other. The POH portal is a spirit tree so it's multi-functional. Plus the seed vault there.
unusual moneymaker: if charged glorys are cheaper then uncharged, teleport with glorys and sell the uncharged ones
The white boots actually have a use. They give +1 prayer bonus and are cheap enough to risk in the wilderness. I remember seeing them on one of the wildy strategy guides on the wiki

Worth noting that, for the White Knight's method, you can use a Diary cape to get there faster, and the Boots probably sell the best since they're a good option to get some prayer bonus in the wildy on a disposable item.

Buy spades at the farming shop in catherby and note them with the gnome next to it at the patch.
People always need spades and iirc they are over 100gp and you only pay a few gp per spade. And it takes like 10 seconds/trip.
You put the spades in the gnome and remove them all noted, pick up the spades on the ground to stack the note stacks and drop them again and repeat.

Fossil Island Pentathlon
Start at Fossil Island Necklace tele.
Wearing full graceful.
Inventory: 200 numulite (or prepay the fee for drift net), Dragon axe, trident/Dragon harpoon, fishbowl helmet, breathing apparatus, Mogre Flippers, 4 birdhouses with seeds, stamina pots/purple sweets, food (for the swamp)
1. Birdhouse run, optional to have to replace existing houses.
2. Herbiboar kc
3. Underwater agility, collect 3 mermaid tears
4. Drift net fishing, fill both nets.
5. Run through the swamp, first to the Deranged Archeologist and trade Soup wins.
Could be on PvP world for binds at the end. In which case, add a rune pouch to the invent.

Unusual moneymaker: Chompy alt.
Many players kill Chompy Birds for diaries, for pet and for greening collection log.
Plan is simple: while you are killing Chompy Birds for your goal, just pluck them all, collect and bank meat with your alt account and get big money while doing this grind. Raw Chompy is around 2k/ea at the moment.
Gp/h depends on your efficiency.
I think that making these videos is a unusual money maker in itself

I found an interesting money maker s few days ago….
Buy a bunch of bowls from the chest downstairs in lumby…. Go ardy and buy garlic from the spice stall, use it on the bowls with a knife in inventory… total cost average 6gp … they were selling on the GE for 800+ … that slowed down so I bought gnome spice for 2gp from the grand tree, add that to the chopped garlic and it sells consistently for 2-300gp sometimes more…
Unusual method - creating odium and malediction wards.
Buy the 3 shards needee to make a ward and go to the wildy volcano to create them. Afterwards, sell on GE and rinse + repeat. It works well because it only takes a few minutes per ward and typically has a profit margin of a few hundred k. Most of all, you only ever need to carry 3 shards, so you’re safe from PKers provided you’re not skulled

Hey, I don't know if you've done this before or not but there is currently a 500 gp difference from barley to barley malt and all you have to do to create barley malt is to cook it at a range

Speaking of GG content, I always thought it'd be interesting to have a challenge be in the Hallowed Sepulcher where you are trying to complete it in the least amount of clicks. Would be super challenging and you can get really creative with it. Timing out multiple obstacles in one far click.

I swear the devs at Jagex design these money making methods on purpose just to watch people discover them.
An unusual money maker i found was buy potatoe and cheese from the warriors guild very cheaply and selling them back on the GE for massive profit per pot and cheese. In about an hour you can make about 500-700k an hour all depending on the stock and how much you are actually focusing on it.
"you can send all 27 of the machetes back to your bank" procedes to sell 2 3rds of the invent 😂 also even if it was all would be 26**
Black scims made me absolute bank in 2011. Warms my heart to see it’s still a decent money maker today.
If you die on the hill next to Askeladden, then repeatedly die with a full inventory of kegs, each inventory will be sent to the hill. Using a locator orb to get down to 11-20hp, then using it again at the same time as a divine potion is the fastest way to die, taking about 15 seconds per inventory with Ferox respawn. (Note that you need to disable supply piles in the game settings.) I tried this out for half an hour and including the time spent buying kegs from Thora and supply costs, I was profiting about 300k/hr.
Unusual Money Maker: Killing Burthorpe Soldiers sometimes drops black darts, which, due to only dropping from these soldiers, are shockingly valuable at 2.2k per dart, or 13.5k per drop.
LOL immediately after the portion about selling kegs, I got an ad for “Never Drink Alcohol Underage!”

I found it by accident when I had a clue there and decided to read through his dialogue. Some NPC's have hilarious dialogue when they're not intended to be talked to frequently.
I remember I used to get pots of flour in that mansion north of seers but never thought to use port khazard back then. Would've been really handy for ye olde me when i was trying to get easy money and train cooking (all the fancy new pies like the + to fishing ones one had come out at that time so there was a lot of demand)

If you teleport glory (6) to glory (4) you can make like 1,2k per glory, which ends up in like 6-800k per hour at the current rates
Pick up wolf bones on Weiss, two spawns next to eachother, requires POH teleport to Weiss & quick bank teleport like Crafting Cape

Sowing the seeds of trickery, as GGS4 challenge "Make the most money" makes a return. I can see it now
Buying uncut gems (from ge and i think JADES specifically) and cutting them then selling them in karamja w karamja gloves for trading sticks and selling those stick on ge is pretty good profit ~3 years ago it was 1.5m an hour and I commented it on an unsual money makers video before, not quite sure if it's still good gp or even better. Each jade is 180 gp and you will break less than 2% of them at 99 crafting. Cut jades sell for 120 trading sticks so you turn 180 gp into ~1080 gp. depending on price you sell the sticks at.

You should tan hides at the crafting guild tannery on the second floor. Can make a couple mil an hour depending on prices

here's a semi unusual one for ya (leaving it here so less people see it): I've been buying dragonstones for a pretty low price (below 11300) and some gold bars...for next to nothing. I then just make combat bracelets in port phasmatys or edgeville to then enchant them. Enchanting can be done faster or casually (auto is slow): BUT the charge dragonstone jewellery scroll is very cheap. The price swings wildly recently from 60gp -400. This doesn't matter because they enchant a full inventory of bracelets into (4)s...in a single tick. The volumes vary overnight but you can also just high alch them uncharged. Have fun buddy

Soup Progress content would actually be.... AWESOME. Use it as your low-budget not-much-editing filler content.
White boots are the cheapest and one of the few boots in game to offer a Prayer bonus, the others being Bandos boots, Guardian boots, Holy sandals, Devout boots, Zealot's boots and the Blessed boots set.
The white boots have +1 prayer which is hard to come by for boots, probably contributes to the demand there
Herbiboar for 99 hunter. Comes with a cool pet and decent gp

with the white item shop it might be more profitable to buy white items cheaper then the shop price and sells it back to the shop as all his items are bought and sold at cost price

Buying bread from Ardougnes market area, there is 2 differenet bakerys whom sell bread, its suprisingly profitable. Thats something you should try.
Stupid Method: Go to Corsair cove with an axe and a knife. Chop down maples, once inventory is full, cut the maple logs into Arrow shafts.
You are turning maple logs (10gp) into 60 arrow shafts. 1gp per arrow shaft.
Not the best money, but super afk and lots of xp

Buy up sand worm packs (the bait for anglerfish) in that shop in zeah. I ran into this the other month and I think I calculated it at 1-2m per hour
My favorite method isn’t super unusual, but I enjoy it. I buy discounted staffs from Zaff, and molten glass from the GE. I then do all the steps to make earth battlestaves and then high alc them for over 1k profit. It wasn’t listed on the wiki because battlestaves are normally more expensive and therefore not profitable with this method

They should definitely do a mobile only pvp challenge next season since the updates allow pray filters and special attack orb usage now.. it makes mobile way more viable in pvp and just in general
It would be difficult to capture footage from the player's screen as well as their audio if using mobile
you can get the socks of ruin from the stronghold of security first level, do the right path and right emotes at the right spots and open chest.
That black scimitar method I used in 2005 lol. Bought full zamorak by selling black scims for 10k/ea in world 1 :)
People used to sell black scimitars for ridiculous amounts of profit in w1 varrock west in 2004-2005 and probably after that too
I use to pick up black scimmys in '03 sold them in West varrock Bank in bulk for 5k ea
