Please do more of these where you rearrange your singles! I love this! I normally sort mine by color and then I have one palette that create whatever color story I'm feeling at the moment. Once I get tired of those colors I put those back and pick new shades. To start out though I place everything in color category in the palettes and then choose colors I want to use. That way when I take colors out and put them back there's a spot for them to return
That is SUCH a good way to organize your singles, I need to try that! I’ve written it down on my schedule to do soon, and I’ll definitely film it when I do 🤗🤗
I have lots of singles too but group them all by colors (blues, greens, yellows/mustard/beige, purple, etc.). I do move them into smaller curated palettes when I do shop my stashes so I can get use out of singles too. I do my own color stories or get inspired by pretty photos on Pinterest!
Yeah, I just made the same comment, lol. I just think it's the best way to get rid of redundant shades (if you want) and also know which ones are good dupes. Then you can create smaller, all-in-one cohesive palettes that you can use for a complete look. I'm usually in a hurry when I'm getting ready and just don't like reaching for different palettes to get the base shade, and the transition shade, and the blending shade, etc.
Miriam Waldbaum That’s a good idea. Depending on how you plan to do your makeup, you’ll know which singles to bring in the palettes. I’d bring a small cool tone or warm tone palette and then a small z palette of colorful singles. I think my color selection would depend on the season because I personally love doing seasonal makeup. I love warm pumpkin spice vibes , reds and burgundies in the fall. 🍁 Now I’m using pastels and mauves for the spring. 🐣
jcjccmz it definitely helps you see which ones are redundant. I’ve decluttered my similar shades shades because I don’t need them. Yes it’s nice to have small all in one cohesive palettes to save time and energy when we’re in a rush. 😀
@@celestecelestial90 totally! I usually take a light and medium/dark shade of each color(2green,blue,etc)and combine them, but that way I have all the colors in 1 or2 smaller palettes😊
It was fun to see your collection. I make my palettes by putting the colors in by brand in the order they come out of the packaging. I’m too afraid to drop them and I just make the color stories I want in my head which works for me. I wouldn’t dare to take the shadows out once they’re in their palettes, I’m too clumsy and don’t want to ruin them 😛
I did this but I made my own pallets and glued down all the little pots. They're not the prettiest but they work and saved so much room in my makeup bag.
I have a weakness for eyeshadows and I'm not even that good at makeup but I'm learning...I just used cardboard, superglue, some spray paint, and a pretty printed duct tape...lol
First, this was so interesting; you have awesome single shadows! Second, these are magnetic palettes so you can move anything around you want -- so there's no such thing as a good or bad job with organizing these! For me -- since most of these palettes aren't all-in-one cohesive palettes (which to me are the most convenient to use), I think another way to start might have all the same/similar colors in each palette, and then pick from them to create one or two or three all-in-one cohesive palettes that you can grab to create looks in one sitting without having to reach for other palettes. And then you can change them out weekly or however frequently you want. I'm really glad you didn't keep them by brand! There's no point in depotting them in that case -- singles separated by brand will never be "organized" (there will just be lots of dupes and redundant shades everywhere that will be hard to work through).
That’s very true, I get it stuck in my head that I have to figure out the colorstory and palette RIGHT NOW 🙈 and that’s a super color idea to put them in palettes by color and then pull to create a palette I feel like having...I’m going to have to try that! I think it would suite me more - I wouldn’t feel so overwhelmed
Oh, I’m sorry! If you watch my coastal scents 3 Looks 1 Palette + Review, you’ll see a lot of the shadows I have. I only kept 2-3 shimmers that I enjoyed for my inner corner, but all the other shimmers I decluttered because I don’t like them. The mattes are okay, so I only kept the bold shades I enjoyed and don’t already have in my collection
Do not worry love, I think you did a great job. I could only imagine how hard this was. I am not good at all with making color stories either. I would have been there for days lol. I think you did great tho.

I do the same, specially when I travel,I took a few colors from each palette and make a few small ones

You are way better at depotting and coming up with single palettes than I ever will be.
Aww you’re too sweet!

I’m always a little nervous with single shadows too, lol

Aww thanks! It was so much harder than I anticipated!
