So I didn’t film a proper intro for this video. I hope you don’t mind, but I wanted to say I was inspired to do this because of a video I saw from Le Pocket Change. If you don’t already subscribe to her you need to! Her content is beyond amazing! ua-cam.com/video/kq4NPJgp41k/v-deo.html
I would love to see a video on just all of your inner corner highlight shadows? This was so inspiring I’m going to go reorganize mine now... I still have them by brand but I think I’m finally ready to organize by color.
When I first started collecting single eyeshadows, my method was to put all similar colors in one palette. All greens, blues, etc. Then I realized that I have no motivation to use them, because whenever I open a palette all I see is a sea of similar colors and I get stressed at what color I should use within that one color palette. This is probably why I'm not particularly excited to buy any of the recent colourpop monotone palettes. I decided to reorganize them into palettes that will motivate me to create a complete look. I made a palette of blues, greens and purples. A mustard and green one, a neutral palette with pops of color, etc. That system work way better for me. This is sort of off topic but I hate empty palettes that doesn't perfectly fit all my singles and have empty spaces that doesn't allow you to fill in more. So if you want a sort of cheaper alternative to empty palettes that still look nice and will perfectly fit your regular sized singles, I suggest buying those thin circular magnets from Amazon that comes in either 50 or 100, and then go to your nearest Hobby Lobby to buy these flat tin boxes that have cute sticky notes in them. The magnets cost around $6-$12, depending on the supplier, and the sticky notes are around $4. The great thing about the tin boxes are that a large part of the cover is a see through plastic so you can see what's inside. Take out the sticky notes. Put the magnets on your singles and place your eyeshadows in the tin boxes. It will perfectly fit around 24 regular sized eyeshadows. Voila, a "magnetic" palette that you can view what's inside without having to open it up. What I personally like about this is that since it's thin and there's now magnet on the bottom you can attach a second tin palette to the back so you can sort of have a double sided palette. Sorry for the horrible grammar and run on sentences.
I feel the exact same. I could maybe do some monochromatic here and there but overall it lacks inspiration for me so that’s why I didn’t go that route. Also that’s cool you did a diy palette. I’m not good at stuff like that at all and I’m happy just to open my palette and see what’s there 😂 It’s so funny how everyone’s preferences are so different. Also no need to apologize I’m like the queen of run on sentences ❤️
So much fun to watch! 🥰 Right now I organize mine by colour and then I have a palette in my "daily makeup basket" with shades I want to play with more atm. I don't have nearly as many as you have though, you have such a gorgeous and varied collection! 🌈🎨
I can’t even tell you how much I loved watching this! You have such a gift for putting colors together, even when you were just picking them quickly, it shows how intuitive the process is for you. You are NOT a mess! You are a beautiful woman with unique gifts, talents, and a message. You should use clips from this video as a resume to apply for a makeup company. You could be a pallet generating machine! I was over here encouraging you on “Yes,, absolutely start with the face products first! Good job!” LOL! I was also being an armchair marketer and naming the pallets for you. :-).I would like to see a follow-up video of these palettes and see what the color schemes ended up looking like. You started going so quickly that I didn’t have time to admire them. I really, REALLY loved this! (And yeah, that probably makes me a bit weird.) 🥰
Thank you Kristi you’re very encouraging and I appreciate it ❤️❤️ I love that you were naming them! Sorry about going fast at the end. I got a little overwhelmed after filming for so long
Wow! How much fun you’re going to have with the colors and brands mixed in different palettes. This has got to be mega inspiring when you pick a palette for the day to create a look. 😻💙💙
Love watching these videos. I would love to see tutorials with each palette. I think you did a great job picking them out. I have seen others do it by color but your way let's you create a palette you may not have used the colors with before. I have organized mine on a spread sheet and randomly pick 24 into a palette. When I'm bored I make a new one. But i think you may have a few more than 104!
It is very overwhelming when you have so many single eyeshadows. I have probably close to if not more than 2000. What relaxes me during the process and makes it fun to come up with inspirational color stories is to separate them by color categories and tones first. Then I just take my time. Inspiration comes from palettes that maybe I don’t own and recently I’ve seen videos like these. I’m going to send you pics of some of mine on IG. 👍🏾
I 💜LOVE💜 that you didnt organize these by color!! I love the color inspiration in each palette! I'm new to your channel and this video confirmed that I feel similar to your color process
I'm always so interested to see how people organize single shadows. I tend to do a lot of colour schemes that I constantly change after I feel bored with it. That's probably why I don't have any huge palletes for storage just 6 9 pan palletes, 3 16 pan palletes, and 2 28 pan palletes. I do plan on picking up 4 more 9 pan palletes and 2 more 28 pan palletes though (what can I say, I love the shopmissa ones) I need them for storage space since I have Looxi shadows coming on Monday, I want to place an order for Devinah soon, and I have a lot of magnetic shadows in my actual premade palletes that I want to mess around with.
I separated all mine by color and put them into the Adept palettes. I also included blush, highlighter, bronzer in each palette. So I grab my blue Adept blue I can create a complete look including face products without having to grab another palette.
This was awesome!!! I usually just keep all of my singles in my giant Adept palette, but I felt so inspired by this that I created three custom palettes for myself right after watching your video. 😁 I'm so excited to use them! Thank you for the inspiration, miss. I hope you're having fun playing with your new palettes. 😊💜💚💙
My favorite indie mattes are Emme Cosmetics if you’re looking for one brand but I could potentially do a video on shades. I’m not quite as passionate about matte shadows haha. And thank you for the suggestions Anna. I’ve got a long list going for single shadow Saturday ideas so hopefully those will come eventually ❤️❤️
This was so inspiring to watch. As someone who’s just now getting into indie brands that sell single pans, this is a great education on how to organize them all. Currently, I have them all organized by brand, then color, but my issue is with the square pans. Any ideas on how to do those? :)
Whew! You got a lot accomplished there, girlie! 😮 I was noticing that you had a lot of berry-toned shadows there towards the end. Just in time for making a palette for autumn! 😊 🍃🍁🍂
I'd have to write every shade color down and do rainbow gradients with monochromatic palettes and the odd ones would become analogous palettes. But I'm extra.
My dream is to have so many single shadows and the way I would organize them is first I would make some custom palettes inspired by my favourite animation like Coraline, my favourite game the witcher 3 and my favourite area in the game which is Toussaint, I would also do a palette inspired by Alice Madness Returns which is another favourite game of mine. I would do a grunge palette, a fall palette and some kind of fantasy setting palette and then the rest of my singles would be organised by color because I don't care for the brand name that much. I recently bought a game called Diablo 3 and I'm enjoying it so much that I'm now thinking of making a palette inspired by that game as well.
I was just looking at my singles last night and thinking I need to reorganize them! Lol I was looking up color stories and byop ideas because I was overwhelmed. Soooo haven't done mine yet lol thanks for doing this!! I love Single Saturdays. Please keep doing videos including your singles.
Lol so many blues lol, I didnt realize just how many blues when they were all layed out, so crazy to see the table covered in eyeshadow pans nice job I would have been so overwhelmed , anyways what a beautiful collection would love to see you go palette by palette and swatch all the shades in each colour story u just created maybe a series !!
Lol girl, this looks like a fun project to do like theoretically with more than one person, because so many shadows, but I understand completely doing it yourself, because duh your preferences
Whoah you have so many single eyeshadows. I`m just getting into them. For some reason I never used to use them, so I`m buying more to arrange them better and in smaller palettes so I hopefully end up using them finally. Lol
I know I was blown away when I actually pulled them all out of their palettes! And I hope that doing that will help you! Making small palettes is so fun 😊
Please do a review on Maeder Cosmetics. I would love to hear your thoughts bc their shadows looked good on their Instagram but I was hesitant to make an order when I heard they weren't as good in person
I find their mattes overall good, but some much better than others. Definitely not as insane as in their insta swatches, but decent. Their shimmers aren’t all that great though. Kinda powdery.
Like this idea, sorting my color and brand is idea for super strict organization. But like you monochromatics don’t inspire me as much or a palette layout like the 252 coastal scents palette. All the colors jumble together. I think it’s better when there’s contrasting and pops of color together. It’s what pulls us all in when we buy palettes, like pop of yellow/blue/green in a neutral palette 😹
love watching your videos. love your tutorials and reviews. it's so satisfying to watch declutters and rearranging makeup. i was so happy to see your singles collections, it's really nice. I was really hoping you would sort them by colors. I'm sorry but your palettes now look like almost the same as they did before. you just mixed the shadows. :)
For me it’s completely different because before the organization has nothing to do with color. They were organized by brand. I’ve already rearranged some shades as I’ve given myself some freedom. It’s been really fun for me. I think only doing monochromatic color schemes wouldn’t be as inspiring but maybe I’ll try it one day 😊
Between you and Hannah Louise Poston, I want to take all my single eyeshadows out and reorganize! Although the second half of the video had my brain scrambled because the randomness would drive me crazy.
Do you have a good quality custom palette that can hold 10 - 20 ish pans recommandation? I am against Z palette, (I don't think the quality is good anyway), I personally think tarte's magnetic is not strong enough, some of my eyeshadows moves in there....
Damn girl, can I come over. lol/ I love all those shadows and that shiny snake skin palette is a beauty. I haven't shopped from Maeder , mostly because their Insta page is weird to me.
Hola linda!
Seriously this is like the makeup lover/eyeshadow hoarders version of porn. I get so much inspiration and new ideas from just watching the different color combos people choose to group together :)
This was fun to watch! Looks like you may have some room for oranges in your single shadow collection! Did you pick up anything from the Christmas in July sale?
I don’t have a ton of oranges other than some more browny ones but I have so many in palettes it’s never been something I’m drawn to purchase. And yes I filmed a video on what I got! Should go up this week or next week. Have to check my schedule 😊
@@AmyLovesMakeup I have 25 shadow singles, 2 blushes and 3 single pan highlighters. Have them all in 3 palettes. Just to cheap to buy a larger palette to keep all the shadows together. Wish I did have a large palette.
Honey, your palette stash ain't fit to house all of your singles. You need a double sided palette the size of the massive one from JD glow cosmetics, basically like the one from Tati's video with her nephew, but double sided. Nothing less will do! 😉😊 And of course don't forget to breathe in. And out. And repeat! 😂 Back to watching now, I'm only half way through and had to write this, as I couldn't keep it in any longer.😂🤣🤣 You're doing fine, don't worry. Your hands and brain are working subconsciously and you're doing a great job!
Oh no I wouldn’t like that at all. I prefer making smaller palettes from my shadows. So much user friendly lol. I actually did end up with a few empty palettes left over after I organized which was nice. 😊
@@AmyLovesMakeup true in a way. I can understand why you did it this way. It makes a lot of sense. I stil keep my smaller ones and larger, despite making myself quite a big palette. I then pick and choose different combinations and put them in the smaller ones for travel. I am not at your stage yet, and I even need the depot them before they all go and live in one large house 😂😂
I like the idea of this but it makes me want to organize them all again by colours ! I keep wondering how you're going to find that one particular single shadow to complete that one particular look, which TBH is unlikely to happen. So yeah, I'm stupidly triggered :'D
We all organize differently. I just did what works best for me. If there’s a particular color I’m looking for... all I have to do is look for it. Not too big of a deal 😊
@@AmyLovesMakeup totally ! And as someone suggested in another comment, I'd be curious to see how you use your palettes to create looks. It also occurred to me that since rainbow palettes no longer appeal to you (or at least not as much), it's logical that you'd organize your palettes in colour stories you'd find inspiring 🤔 I also hope you film a video when you decide to switch them around again 😁
But they are separated by undertones and colors that pair well... I absolutely love the way she sorted them, I feel so inspired.. but everyone has opinions, that's why there are so many ways to do the same thing.
No thank you. I’m currently on a low buy and being careful of how much makeup I buy. I keep things I don’t use often because I love doing full color schemes and duping palettes for videos . I also received many of these shadows as PR.
I agree that to me they weren't "organised" but only because I would sort by colour/brand. However I completely disagree that the colours were not complimentary in each palette. Colours don't need to match to be complimentary. Nor does every colour in a palette need to compliment every other colour ... take the blues and green in the Juvias Zulu palette: the blue and the green shimmer clash but both work beautifully with the teal matte because it has undertones of both. This makes that palette highly complimentary and very well coordinated. I think the same thing was happening here. Some beautiful combos, even though the organiser in me was screaming "you're doing it wrong!!!"
I organized them the way that they would benefit me best. I had them by brand and didn’t like it. I felt uninspired to do monochromatic so I came up with my own color stories. It’s funny to be criticized for something that’s so personal to your own preferences. Goodness 😂 You can organize your own collection however you see fit.

I don’t have a ton of oranges other than some more browny ones but I have so many in palettes it’s never been something I’m drawn to purchase. And yes I filmed a video on what I got! Should go up this week or next week. Have to check my schedule 😊
LOVED the video, so relaxing to watch :D one day i will do the same!
Thank you 💜💜
LOL! I am overwhelmed 💜💚💜
Me too. Doing it like this was a lesson!
@@AmyLovesMakeup I have 25 shadow singles, 2 blushes and 3 single pan highlighters. Have them all in 3 palettes. Just to cheap to buy a larger palette to keep all the shadows together. Wish I did have a large palette.
😵🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯 you could prob shop your stash to recreate any palette ever
Probably... but will I? Probably not 😂😂
WOW what a collection! How long did it take to film the process? I'd go insane 😅🙈
About two hours 😅
what do i do now... i'm inspired to reorganize my singles, but i don't have any 🤣😭🤪
Uh oh 😂😂
Amy, I’ll drop by in one hour 🛒
eyeshadow people problems 😂
feel your pain... and my collection is a bazillion times smaller than yours haha
You could have sent me all the pressed glitters!!!
Some of them had growth in them ):
@@AmyLovesMakeup oh yuckos
This was honestly so satisfying to watch!
I've been wanting to get more into single shadows, so your collection has me drooling 😍
Thank you! There’s some really great ones out there 😊
Honey, your palette stash ain't fit to house all of your singles. You need a double sided palette the size of the massive one from JD glow cosmetics, basically like the one from Tati's video with her nephew, but double sided.
Nothing less will do! 😉😊
And of course don't forget to breathe in. And out. And repeat! 😂
Back to watching now, I'm only half way through and had to write this, as I couldn't keep it in any longer.😂🤣🤣
You're doing fine, don't worry.
Count the shadow
I think you should make palettes for ABH, Morphe, or Colourpop none of the palettes you came up with are boring and all are cohesive.
Thank you 😊
Who are your top three companies for buying single shadows?
It’s so hard to choose but I really love Emme Cosmetics, Looxi for metallics, and Devinah
@@AmyLovesMakeup I just ordered some Looxi shadows so I cant wait to get them. I'll have to try the other two.
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Hey any!!!!!
Hi!
I like the idea of this but it makes me want to organize them all again by colours ! I keep wondering how you're going to find that one particular single shadow to complete that one particular look, which TBH is unlikely to happen. So yeah, I'm stupidly triggered :'D
Me too.
It also occurred to me that since rainbow palettes no longer appeal to you (or at least not as much), it's logical that you'd organize your palettes in colour stories you'd find inspiring 🤔
I also hope you film a video when you decide to switch them around again 😁
This gave me anxiety.... I wanted to sort them out by color so bad hah
But they are separated by undertones and colors that pair well... I absolutely love the way she sorted them, I feel so inspired.. but everyone has opinions, that's why there are so many ways to do the same thing.
Ugh...organize by color and/or finish. Too disorganized to be organized.
Instead of throwing away you son could use for a fun art project he might glitter all over him buy could be fun lol
Unfortunately some of the shades looked like they had some weird growth in them ):
Girl I totally get that you love makeup but this is insane.. You should try visiting r/makeuprehab.
No thank you. I’m currently on a low buy and being careful of how much makeup I buy. I keep things I don’t use often because I love doing full color schemes and duping palettes for videos . I also received many of these shadows as PR.
You kinda didn’t organize them tho? It’s mostly just randomly putting them in palettes and like half of them are poorly color coordinated
