I worked at Chi-Chi's in the 80s. Had a lot of fun there and the food was so good
Never saw Burger Chef in a mall, but they were established at their own stores. Had a good product.
Burger Chef stored some of their product in the Gypsum caves near Grand Rapids, Michigan.
OMG!! How I miss Bressler's ice cream!!! They are, rather were, the only place that carried Concord Grape Sherbert!! As a first generation "mall rat", I always got two scoops on a sugar cone and all was perfect in the world. 😇❤ To this day I can't find Concord Grape sherbet anywhere! 😢 Wow! Thanks for the wonderful memories!! 😊😊❤❤❤
My first real job was in H.S. at Burger Chef ( and Jeff ). Good fast food at that time . Later worked at a McDonalds for more $$ . I was born in the early 50's and never heard of half of these places .
This is back when all food was delicious, and you could smell the wonderful aroma down the street - If the younger people knew how food tasted back in the day, they would boycott all companies and farms - They have messed up all the food since then, and now we don't know what the hell we are eating!
Lol
I remember all of these…and, I’m not a baby boomer!
I’ve never heard of any
I worked at Hot Shoppes in the 70s in Calumet City, IL when I was in high school. They did great business. There was a Lum's in the same town.
Orange Julius…Dairy Queen had the recipe and rights for awhile but they always acted like they didn’t want to make them and the taste was never right….Gone But Not Forgotten
We still have them in Canada.
Howard Johnson early clip showed a car interior with a cell phone with GPS which wasn't around back then.
LOVED Chi-Chis!!!
As a baby boomer, smack dab in the middle 0f the 18year span, ,my earliest memory is a fountain drink with my Dad ,at Christmas while mom shopped at a 7 story O'Neils . I think the place was called Scott's 5& Dime? No malls yet.
Thanks for sharing!
I really like cooking/baking. My Dad was a real fast food nut.
What do you cook/bake the best?
I lived near the Livonia / Westland Mall for decades. So bummed that nearly all malls have been abandoned or closed.
Lakeside is gone also .. sad !
Loved Steak n Ale & Bennigan’s !!!

You should do a segment on the steakhouse, Cask-n-Cleaver !!, they were a great place for date nights 🌙 ❤
Farrelll's closed its last shop in 2019. I was there. And I'm keeping up with the company.
How’s it going?
It hasn't since 2019.
Only Baby Boomers huh? several of these are quite solidly in the Gen X realm too. Forgotten again.
Don’t think so
All of those places look wonderful, but most of them never made it to St. Louis.
My first job was at Burger Chef!
Thanks for sharing
Never saw a Burger Chef in a mall plus these other two places you're talking about
How come?
Some pretty girls in this video!
Oops! I forgot to mention this on my original post. Who was the Einstein that came up with the name Chi-Chi's?!! Hmm, maybe someone who doesn't speak Spanish? 🙄
I worked at Farrells in Fremont California. Ladies and gentlemen stop what your doing and swallow what your chewing we have a birthday to celebrate l.
Cheers 🥂
Good day 😊
Back in like 74 my brother challenged " The Trough " and won :D
Burger Chef was the best, period.
Wrong about Chichi's, they had a food poison issue, and chose to close rather than attempt to settle.

I m iss Chi Chi's
Woolworth s lunch counter in carolinastarted civil rights movement then teenage Jesse Jackson’s refused service
No wonder he's such a great civil rights activist.
LOL, a lot of the food been shown is generic video that has nothing to do with the restaurants being shown. Wrong era cars shown in several clips.
Very few photos of the real restaurants. Lies.
