Here in Canada we actually got the X-Trail which was never released in the US, but it only came with the standard engine. So everyone knows what it is when looking at it, nobody would expect it's got a turbo SR20.
Really exciting to get a sneak peak at the new car before it gets here around November. This one seems higher off the ground than my current Xtrail with it's 370,000ish kilimeters. Thanks for posting this vid Derek.
So much want, this would be a great alternative to the Foresters I’ve been buying. I’m a big SR fan, they are great engines. The 25year rule here in the US really sucks.
I have one of these and the ride is very nice... the exhaust tip is stock from the factory... this is actually the only way u can tell its a gt if it doesnt carry the badge... also the exhaust size is larger than the traditional xtrails
I had the 2005 LE version of this car. It had the same sort of drink cooling as this has. The drink holders were right next to the front windows. It also weirdly included a sandwich compartment right in the lower middle of the dash which was also cooled or heated.
Funny that we didn't get that engine in Europe thou...We did get a 2-liter Lancer EVO Turbocharged Mitubishi Outlander and the famous 2,5-liter Forester.... But the Nissan X-Trail was made for the European marked...
Hi, I have the same turbo model. It has started to smoke recently, is an engine overhaul advisable or shall I just buy a slim engine? advise, thank you.
If I'm not mistaken. I haven't seen this vehicle in person however I have owned an Xterra. And this looks to be a bit bigger than one. The ride height looks lower than that of the xterra I had that was bought new. Still an amazing vehicle that I wish was in the market here
In Spain all xtrails you see are renault shit engines, i can't believe that in Japan it mounts the best sr20 engine. Nissan primera as my model also had that engine
I think i'd be more interested in the powerplant more than the rest of the car. The leg room in the back seat looks pretty minimal, I would choose my 98 honda crv over this, but the crv is heavy and under powered(personal opinion) with only 150hp. I have heard the b20b in it can take modifications pretty well though.
valdemarian Like most things in life, you get used to them being over there. We have had 2 different cars with gauges in the middle and it's not too bad.
valdemarian I actually had this same vehicle as of a month ago. You get used to it, but it's annoying that everyone in the car can read how fast you're going.
Some interesting facts from a crazy Silvia fan: If you wonder what the French did to Nissan Silvia after the demise, here is one example. If your a S15 owner, look at speed and rev gauges...no, look at them, inverted? If you wonder where Spec-S (the 5 speed) shift knobs can be found, look for a 2003 Almera, its exactly the same, at least here in Sweden. Know of other sad Silvia bits found in other Nissans? Can we go so far that the SR20VET is actually Nissans remenants of a S16? Also, the dash in the center, a very Citroen thing was in almost every Nissan model sold from 2000 to 2005, and of those models that had them, there are non left, or left in that design, Nissan had to can them. Id go as far as the reason why i dont own a cool Xtrail like these, is the bloody center dash! Terrible design and cost Nissan a lot of customers from my parts of the world.
Typically Japanese cars would have an early mode and a late model with 2-3 years for each. the mid-cycle refresh often get new versions of the engines. I think that this engine was developed for the S15 "Kouki" model before it was cancelled. It makes sense because the S15 only got three years of production.
That is one hell of the sleeper

Finally, a X-Trail GT Turbo, a JDM exclusive SUV. :)
This bring a lot of memories of my old 2.5L QR25 FWD T30, now i want it back :')

I have one my self and I can tell u it’s a beast !!!!!! Super fast
Thinking of getting one in the near future. what country are you from and how hard/easy is it to source parts?
Top speed
What's the gearbox, auto or vct.
My uncle has one and it's still kicking since 2011.
Maintenance cost and parts availability?
What mods did you add already?

It reminds of my old nissan x-trail with my dream engine...

Dashboard sandwich!!!
I just know this x trail with turbo...
👍👍👍👍
I'm plan to build one of these but I never knew they came turbo from factory
Funny that we didn't get that engine in Europe thou...We did get a 2-liter Lancer EVO Turbocharged Mitubishi Outlander and the famous 2,5-liter Forester.... But the Nissan X-Trail was made for the European marked...
Someone is going to get a pleasant surprise when they try to race the owner of this in Canada. The engines we got were preeeetty slow.
I would love to see the person that drives around challenging X-Trails to street races.
Sound like me in high school... lol
H Maccas because they can?
You pretty much legit called the owner of this channel a wanker...
this X-Trail was pretty common in Philppines but the engine (in this video) is not.
There are a number of SR20VET engines at banawe and it's bolt-on to our local x-trails (tho probably P80k-P100k)
It is an exclusive JDM model.
But some are being imported to PH as halfcuts in which you can do an engine swap
The Nissan X-Trail Is The Younger Brother Of The Nissan Terra And It’s North American Cousin Is The Nissan Rogue
Will this bolt on to my 2001 Sentra 2.0 transmission
long before the Subaru Forester XT, Hyundai Kona N, Kia Sportage 2.0Turbo..........
......there was the Nissan Xtrail GT
So cool! Love my x trail but it only has sr20de
Looks cool! Some people say that the GT version is a fuel guzzler... How's its consumption like?
I don't have personal experience but I would agree if you are boosting everywhere.
What is the atf (gear box oil) capacity? I have one but didn't come with maintenance manual and I'm not sure whether I replaced sufficient quantity.

AyameWilson Nah these are smaller than xterras, we have both in canada.
Mathieu Levac good to know. Thank you. Would love to see one in person. Looks interesting
AyameWilson It's the same size as a Forester from that generation, only a little taller
Only interesting in this exact trim. If not the vehicle is a HUGE pass.
Xtrail size is very similiar with CRV
What transmission does it have lined up with the sr20?
4 speed automatic, would be great if it was paired to a 6 speed manual like dCi models in Europe
I like to buy one too . How much ? 🤔🇨🇦
What's the gearbox, automatic or cvt.
how much does they cost?
will this fit in a 2001 Sentra?
Where i live we didn't get that engine instead we had a pretty much unreliable 2.2 diesel YD22
Dorian Reyes Diesel engines provided by Renault.
Off course, it is JDM exclusive.
We have a few of these models im Guyana. Surprisingly quick in a straight line...not so stable around corners
Okay I think this is pretty mad. Have always seen the X-Trail as a boring vehicle here in Australia
Australia got the cool roof mounted lights, but I have never heard of the SR GT version, how cool. Still prefer Subaru's though...
Thomas Twyford Malaysian to have that spec. Come with 2.4 & 2.0L petrol. The 2.4 is a drinker but this engine is a rare.

But n/a
MiGuelYTuGuel jajajajaj en argentina tambien, igual no se ven muchas de ese modelo, se ven mas las nuevas

dat alfa gtv
in indonesia we only got 2.5 engine...180ps...
Lot's of french cars have plastic fender panels
We have them in the Caribbean I love it..not a big fan of the QR20/QR25.but it's cool
there is a hako and a 300zx
It look like pgc10 in 5:40
dont know that nissan made this type of xtrail. shame its only for JDM
Great engine however the center dash is a horrible design.
valdemarian Like most things in life, you get used to them being over there. We have had 2 different cars with gauges in the middle and it's not too bad.

Not a big deal really... they have the same design in the p12 primera... it grows on u
@@AlleyKatzTV Yh lol always get friends acting like were gonna crash for being 2mph over
sugoi!
Wow, you need to read a book..... X-Trail not Xterra. No it's not truck based it's Sentra based....
Are you 16? Learn to listen that's not what he said
its basically a VTEC turbo
