Born and raised there and left after highschool in 1967....It lost half of its population when the auto plants shutdown....The NCR left after a 100 years there....The only major employer there is the US Air Force Base....
At every train station B&O Railroad had a very large picture of the Capitol building. If you look closely gas lighting, horse carriage and motor car is visible! My husbands Grandfather was railroad police at the Dayton station until he retired. When the station closed in Dayton that large picture of the Capitol was given to him as a gift for his years of service. His Grandfather passed many years ago and that picture is a treasured family heirloom!😊
The two pictures you show of the U.S. News, Production is from the McCall Printing Company. They were the largest magazine printer in the US. I worked there in the 60's and 70's. I do recognize one of the men in the pictures. He was a foreman when I worked there.
My Dad shared this video with me yesterday and He rode one on of the Trains when he left for Vietnam, It took him to Chicago and then on to Kansas City where he caught a plane to San Francisco. My Dad also worked in a couple of the rooms of NCR pics with some of the machines that are seen in this video. Tall Windows still there til torn down. We can’t pick him out, but one of the Men in the Triangles Football Picture was My Dad’s Grandfather, My Great Grandfather. Does anyone possibly know any information to share, We would be delighted to know.

My father was born in Dayton Ohio and went to Steele high school.He use to tell me about the great flood.Those white people in the pictures sure looked happy.

I'm pretty sure dayton union Station is still there. And it definitely does not look the same as it did
No it absolutely is not there. It was razed sometime in the early 1980’s!
