Weird Al was one of those pioneers who poked fun at celebrity for the video age to where it influenced the internet age. Just to add, what seperates him from most people is that his parodies were meta and meaningful and heartfelt. It's why Michael Jackson liked it when Al poked at him where Prince didn't, he knew and most do now, that it's for fun and not to be mean spirited.
