Definitely been guilty of the do nothing, heavy edge set method 😂. But then it’s so much harder to initiate the next turn in balance. Rhythm is key when it’s going well. Good video again.

These are the excellent tips. Hard pack steeps have always been my nemesis. I always have to shout at myself to turn! Sometimes I’m fine sometimes I completely freeze. Especially when it’s really busy and I can’t turn where I want to. I never feel as in control as everywhere else. Will definitely be practicing this this season! 😊

Such a timely reminder to start your run with a shorter turn rather than the heavy edged set up beginner turn that everyone likes to do…start short to find your rhythm…love it!!

I used Floss a few years back in Tignes for a couple of sessions and can highly recommend her as a ski instructor. We tried to book more time as we made great progress but good people are busy people and we couldn't get more sessions that week. If you want some really good ski instruction don't make our mistake and book early 🙂

Mmmmmmm, I think that for steep skiing, you need to focus down, so that will keep the upper body facing down meanwhile the lower body inter acts with the rotation and specially in the rotation we can´t keep down, we have to rise so we can release the effort in the legs and in that way they can make the turn. The woman did it pretty good and also I think woman are more capeble to ski than man, cause skiing is a sensation at the end. My best regards from Chile

Excellent video. I have never seen the bear hug used before. I will try this with my students next month.

The old guy looks like he's got expedition equipment in that massive rucksack. Is he camping out on the mountain each night? Could we have an 'unboxing' video of what he's got in there please?

The poles aren't for flailing about you plant with some intent to initiate rhythm.

Would you say that for lower intermediate level skiers like in your video it is better to start off with a little more difficult skiing but not making proper turns like show here to build confidence or to ski easier more appropriate steepness but with better technique? When teaching friends I often feel that I sometimes give them more to bite off than they can chew. But at the same time, they find their normal difficulty is feeling easier when going back to it.

Yes, I would say a mixture of both ..less is often more to improve technique otherwise you improve the head game but not technique
