When I was a kid I lived about a mile away from an area where literally only black people lived. A couple of my friends from school lived in the area and I tried visiting them at their homes a few times. Their parents were hard working, welcoming, friendly people. But I stopped going there because some of the most vicious, ignorant, self centered early stage thugs I've ever had the displeasure of running into in my life were always hanging around. I never had any serious trouble with them those few times, even though they focused on me immediately because I was white, but even at that age I could tell continuing to return to the area would be foolish. My friends disliked them too, so they came to my family's home routinely for years...great friends and memories.

Classic routine. That divide exists between all "groups" 😅Comedy is meant to push the boundaries, and there are times it goes over the line. I think it's a vital part of free speech.

I started doing cable tv installs when I was 49, did that for almost a year. Crawling under houses, in attics, and climbing a 28 foot ladder to pull line from the pole to the house or reconnect their existing line. I went to fiber install. Again, crawling under houses, and running anywhere from 70 foot to almost 2,000 feet of fiber cable. Did that for almost a year. Now, I run a warehouse for Spectrum cable contractors and we cannot get people to work. People do not want to work after they got all that “free money” from the government! Fast food is paying anywhere between $12-$16 an hour, and they can’t get people in. The reason I commented, is Asia said she can’t stand it when able bodied people don’t want to work.
I'm a new subscriber and I think you two are just adorable! I'm 60 years old so I'm allowed to make those kind of comments LOL. I love Chris Rock and this routine was just awesome. As you guys mentioned at the end, white people definitely have similar divisions among ourselves. And BJ you're right it ultimately has nothing to do with race, it has to do with ignorance and a lack of ambition. Ignorant and unambitious people can be found in all racial groups, we just don't always have as nasty a word as the n word to describe them. This reminds me, though, of when I was teaching a college course and the lesson for the day was on the language of racism. I asked my students to start calling out racist terms they knew for blacks and racist terms they knew for whites and I wrote the words on the chalkboard. My assumption of course was that there would be far fewer negative words for white people than for black people and this would illustrate my point. However, my plans were thwarted by one of my black students, who started listing all the negative words his grandmother had for white people.😊 It was quite a long list lol! I wish I could remember what some of those words were. But he certainly put me in my place for trying to be the PC white teacher. Anyway keep doing what you're doing I really enjoy your commentaries.
Serious love to you both and Chris Rock! As with any comedy that lasts, it's not just about the African American community. In all fairness and as you stated, all races have people not being the best they can be. Got to love Chris Rock; keepin' it real, real smart!
This was when Chris thought his career as a stand up was basically over, so he figured if he was going to go out he was going to get it all off his chest. Ended up being one of the most legendary stand up routines ever.

So this HBO Special came out back in 1996 if I remember correctly. I grew up just outside of Oakland, Ca. and had a mixed group of friends and we would always have us dying laughing. If this joke was told today, I'm not sure it would be received as well as it did nearly 30 years ago which is unfortunate and says a lot about the society that we presently live in. Times do change but human nature doesn't.
Early 2000s in high school there was a Chinese guy who knick named himself the slur for them, it's such a different world today, nowadays there'd be white girls telling him he can't do that and no one's allowed to call em that
Chris really hit his stride with this special. “Bring the Pain” is one of the best comedy specials ever. Probably Top 5 for me actually right there with “Delirious” and “Raw” by Eddie Murphy.
This show made Chris an international success. This was the controversial joke that made it happen. They even made a short documentary on it. He strategically filmed it in DC… CHOCLATE CITY where black people are successful and gots their shit TOGETHER. He intuitively KNEW the empathy would go through the roof!!!!! Black people UNDERSTAND this. This situation has and been our burden for sooooo long. But you know we don’t like airing our “dirty laundry”!!!! Well Chris DID and it turned him into a mega comedian!!!!❤❤❤

Have watched several of your videos in a row and you both have made my afternoon! Laughing right along with you! I'll never again look at a jar of mayo without giggling! LOL!
Great reaction. Great points made. There's a area in psychology that says our mental health is based on stories our brains make. Asia's points about how it's hard to imagine anything different when receiving government aid is on point. That trade off between an entry level job(s) away from your family/child care and staying home with income, with family is very real. Having TVs and phones showering us with images of wealth can make anyone feel like a loser with either decision so why not choose the "easier" of the two. It's horrible long term, but if you focus on day-to-day it's reasonable to see how people get trapped. Most of all, I enjoy your reactions and hope you have a wonderful 2023! 🥳
Friend of mine is on welfare. As part of it he gets medical coverage, pays like 10 bucks for the 700 or 800 dollars worth of psychiatric meds that allow him to function. If he makes more then 300$ a week at his job he loses that coverage. The system is totally a trap. Even if you want out sometimes your stuck.
AND CHRIS WOULD TELL YOU THAT HE LOVED ( EDDIE MURPHY ) IN 84'S DELIRIOUS AND 87'S RAW, RICHARD PRYOR AND OF COURSE, THE MASTER THE BEST GEORGE CARLIN :) HIS COMEDIC IDOLS. BUT THIS CONCERT ( BRING THE PAIN ) TOOK HIM TO ANOTHER LEVEL YOU GUYS :)
Lmao I remember being like 12 or 13 asking my mom if I could stay up to watch this on TV when it showcased on cable because he was awesome in down to earth. 😂 as a white kid in a rural area it was mind opening to say the least.
You are correct. This could not be made today. But, luckily for us, it was made when comedians were allowed to be funny and allowed to tell the truth and guys like Chris Rock and George Carlin took full advantage of it and were funny as hell. Of course, there are a few Mel Brooks movies that fit into that category, too
I'm older so my pov is a little different but I remember as a kid asking my mom what a Nxxxxx was. She said "Oh, sweetie, they are lazy no good people who want everything for nothing." When I asked what they looked like so I could find them easily she said "Well, they are everywhere and they look like everyone so you just have to learn to avoid them once you learn to find them". I never really heard it directed at a specific color of people until I was at least 13. I've since had several as neighbors and breaking into my apartment while I was at work made me laugh when he talks about moving your valuables in during the middle of the night. Great reaction!
They DID put this video out today. There was no UA-cam when Chris Rock did his stand-up specials “Bring the Pain”, and “Bigger and Blacker”, so … this is literally a clipped segment UA-cam video made for today.
Very true, we all got family that we hide the silverware from when they come over. We all got some that we don't wanna claim in public. And maybe we can't all say we got them relatives who's part of the family tree looks more like a telephone pole instead of having branches like you are supposed to. But here in East Texas my family sure can lol.. They don't understand the difference between loving your cousin and "loving" your cousin!

Thank you for explaining about "moving the television in". I was wondering if everyone watched telly outside - but it's when you first bring the television home.
And the funny thing about this is that he is speaking from the heart! This is barely a bit... He just goes out on his own people for not pulling their weight. And it is true, and for everybody, all races. Some are just looking for a free ride...
I remember watching this. One of his best stand ups. He hit the nail on the head. The generation back then was definitely more chill. This generation is just full of snowflakes.
In the Frankenstein's Lab reaction to this, they laid some truth: "Every race has got their [n-words]." For white people, they are otherwise known as some of my cousins. LOL

"PUT THE D*CK DOWN!' 😂🤣😂🤣 Y'all are right about the welfare system. It can certainly help families but, it is designed to keep you dependent on it. Conservatives get accused of being heartless when we speak against welfare. Rarely is it that we don't understand that some families can fall on very hard times; it is that we are against the policies designed to keep people on welfare.
It's what the term white trash was created to describe. Similar struggles with regards to welfare, thievery, and just making other peaceful peaceful people have to look over their shoulders while trying to live life. We just don't have the issue of having those people held up as a stereotype that is then used to paint us all with the same brush.
I learned those move strategies, from when my brothers house got broken into while he was moving in. Twice actually, two brothers in two different states. I had some stuff in storage, and decided to keep using storage while I was moving. It was worth paying another month or two. TV and valuables went there til I was actually in the new house. So if anybody was watching the old house, anything valuable was gone. If they were watching the new one, nothing valuable was there yet. Once I was settled and at one house, I got the rest out of storage.
I remember overhearing my mom and her best friend/co-worker talking about this back in the '70s. One was white, the other black, and they basically said what CR talked about in this video, only in somewhat less "colorful" terms. Each talked/vented in very amusing terms about how they didn't like low class, "low expectation havin'" people of their own or any race.
OMG I'm dead, I LOVE Chris. I saw him over 25 years ago, he was just starting and I have followed him ever since. I agree with you both, every race has them, there's ignorant folks all over. Asia, did you know that the line, “Everytime I Close My Eyes I See You” is actually lifted from a song called “Two Occasions” from the group, The Deele fronted by Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds dating back to 1987 ? The line was originally “Everytime I Close My Eyes I Think Of You.” I thought you might appreciate that, being how much you and your FAM love music and music history. That kind of truth makes us laugh and cry at the same time, and CR could always break us up!

It's a look that immediately says "That doesn't make US being on welfare okay!"
I think EVERYONE should watch Chris Rock standups just to pay respects!
Classic routine. That divide exists between all "groups" 😅Comedy is meant to push the boundaries, and there are times it goes over the line. I think it's a vital part of free speech.
It’s bull crap. Let Chris rock say joke about Jews , Asians or Lgbt see how fast they come fromhim
@@michaelleslie6992 If the joke doesn't offend anyone, its not funny. Every good commedian get's shit from all kinds of people. It's as Dave Chappelle said, if they want to cancel you, fuck em. They dont matter. Who matters are the people that find you funny who pay to come see your shows.
Hello,
Do you train new hires or only want experienced installers ? Also where is your business located ?
Aww thanks so much for your sub and comment ❤️
Good God I just realized how long my post is! Thanks for taking the time to read it! Brevity is not my strong suit!
Serious love to you both and Chris Rock! As with any comedy that lasts, it's not just about the African American community. In all fairness and as you stated, all races have people not being the best they can be. Got to love Chris Rock; keepin' it real, real smart!
Asia, what a beautiful voice! We need to hear more of you singing!!!
I live in a rough neighborhood. If I get any expensive electronics I cut up the box into tiny strips before throwing it out.
Same here 😂
Excellent! I remember when this came out, still hilarious today! 😂
This was when Chris thought his career as a stand up was basically over, so he figured if he was going to go out he was going to get it all off his chest. Ended up being one of the most legendary stand up routines ever.
THE moment, when Asia and BJ shared a glance upon learning something new about John Cougar Mellencamp. OMFG... I'm still laughing
Love Chris rock, carrying on Richard Pryors legacy. Love that guy.
RP Talking about setting himself on fire. "...and the police showed up. The police don't shoot cars...they shoot ni........". Richard Pryor was funny as hell.
Loved ur reaction to this one!! This was honest humor, and like BJ said, he hit the nail on the head with all of this, thanks for this reaction..👍👍
The algorithms gota show you some love lmao
I had a really good friend who was black back at university, and he talked about this kinda stuff as well.
I do believe I can state with a fair amount of certainty that Will and Jada Pinkett Smith will never appear on one of those celebrity roasts.
Will can take a swing, but Jada can take multiple swingers.
There was a time when no normal adult was as easily offended as a typical 12 year old, particularly by comedy which was in fact funny.
Actually in 1995 when he was working out this routine, people hated it for a year.
@@justayoutuber1906 I've been around a lot longer than that 😉
The funny thing is they don't even know why they're offended, they just know they're supposed to be offended, the public school brainwashing has worked better than they could've ever expected
Early 2000s in high school there was a Chinese guy who knick named himself the slur for them, it's such a different world today, nowadays there'd be white girls telling him he can't do that and no one's allowed to call em that
BRING THE PAIN WAS THE THING THAT EXPLODEDDDDDD HIS CAREER!!! :) IT WAS 1 OF HIS HBO SPECIALS YOU GUYS! :)
You guys are right on! Think the "label" is just based on his life experience. Plenty of ignorant white people too lol
Chris really hit his stride with this special. “Bring the Pain” is one of the best comedy specials ever. Probably Top 5 for me actually right there with “Delirious” and “Raw” by Eddie Murphy.
Patrice is up there too
This show made Chris an international success.
BIG FACTS!!!
This is sooooo fittting for this week! 😂
I watch this channel for the music reviews and reactions. Now I get to also watch this because you two are very intelligent and make me hopeful for the future of all of our children.
Have watched several of your videos in a row and you both have made my afternoon!
Laughing right along with you!
I'll never again look at a jar of mayo without giggling!
LOL!
Chris Rock just got some new material for this bit.
There are n words in every race and we call them all that it's the true meaning of that word B.J Hit it right on the head
You pair are beautiful 😍 I can feel your energy popping out my screen xx
Bring the Pain and Bigger and Blacker are my favorite stand ups
As a Mexican, trust me my friend, our community has the same problems lol we have that group of people in our families too
There’s Mexican and then there’s cholos
Yes, there is a difference between the two for sure. It's true in all races no matter the color of the skin.
Man. I love this special. I remember watching him in movies in the '90s and then seeing this. It is so ingrained in me that I still use the "You wanna a cookie?" line on peps. When people want recognition of a normal thing. A derivative was formed in my group of teens... "Do you want fries with that?" McD line
"the system is almost setup for you to stay in the system".... people are voting for that.
Ayeee... I didnt know yall was from the Cliff...yeah, we used to buy clothes at Red Bird, then put them in trash bags before we went into the house
This was so enjoyable to watch with you two please do more of these i loved this.
Thank you for explaining about "moving the television in". I was wondering if everyone watched telly outside - but it's when you first bring the television home.
Not all of us listen to John cougar Mellencamp. Lol 😆 🤣 😂 😹 😆
And the funny thing about this is that he is speaking from the heart! This is barely a bit... He just goes out on his own people for not pulling their weight. And it is true, and for everybody, all races. Some are just looking for a free ride...
Much respect to you two!
LOL
They are otherwise known as my brother!
Luv u guys !!! Proud u are watching Chris we should go to all his show and dl his material in line
Classic bit! Love me some Rock! Man speaks truth!
Legendary special!
When I go to the Oscars I ain't looking over my back for the media. I'm looking for Will Smith
76 year old white guy here. You two rock! You look great and you're super smart...and you're right in your assessment of humanity. Keep it up, work hard, be proud. Love you.
For the record Chris Rock was just a black man trying to have a good time at the Oscars....
I grew up when this came out....15 or so years old.....Grew up at with my Italian melanin being the darkest skin around....Rock taught me some shit about the differences that are honestly important.
Chris is brilliant.
Bill Burr and Cris Rock are so much a like in just their comedy slaps you in the face hard.
The worst part about this bit is that even though it's one of my favorites (the whole special as well), I can't quote ANY of it as a white guy 🤣
The short clip of Dave chapalle talking about meeting Caitlyn Jenner for the first time and her winning woman of the Year is absolutely hilarious
He’s talking about one group, but it applies to all races. Good and bad in all races
This was not a comedy show, this was a public service announcement disguised as a comedy show. This cannot be anymore true today as it was back than.
"PUT THE D*CK DOWN!' 😂🤣😂🤣
Y'all are right about the welfare system. It can certainly help families but, it is designed to keep you dependent on it. Conservatives get accused of being heartless when we speak against welfare. Rarely is it that we don't understand that some families can fall on very hard times; it is that we are against the policies designed to keep people on welfare.
John Cougar Mellencamp? That hurts
We all have our versions of ignorance. Love the reactions guys!
It's what the term white trash was created to describe. Similar struggles with regards to welfare, thievery, and just making other peaceful peaceful people have to look over their shoulders while trying to live life. We just don't have the issue of having those people held up as a stereotype that is then used to paint us all with the same brush.
Exactly, when I’m worried about crack and meth-heads downtown, I’m not caring what shade of skin they have!
Rock went off lol.
This is one of my favorite Chris Rock routines. You’ll stay in the system if you keep voting for the same politicians that offer freebies.
Lancaster here, howdy to fellow Texans. First time commenting, but I've enjoyed quite a few of your videos. Keep up the good work and I wish you luck.
God bless Chris Rock.
OMG I'm dead, I LOVE Chris. I saw him over 25 years ago, he was just starting and I have followed him ever since. I agree with you both, every race has them, there's ignorant folks all over. Chris is my age, we grew up listening to Carlin and Pryor and Chris took it all in and made it work!! #teamchris
1996 back when pple were adults and had senses of humour!
Actually people hated this routine for a year while he worked on it. Got boos
12:50 This is why I love comedians like Rock, you attack all, especially get the audience in one sway, then hit em and turn the knife. Brilliant
fun fact: Chris Rock never used the N-word again in his act.🐐
Asia, did you know that the line, “Everytime I Close My Eyes I See You” is actually lifted from a song called “Two Occasions” from the group, The Deele fronted by Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds dating back to 1987 ? The line was originally “Everytime I Close My Eyes I Think Of You.”
I thought you might appreciate that, being how much you and your FAM love music and music history. (Whether you already knew that or not)
The song Asia was singing was Next “I Still Love You.” (1997)
*Dave Chappelle & Bill Burr* are some of the few who still do it. *Chris Rock* sadly has actually apologized for much of his older material
CR is a master of comedy! He's spot on with his rap. In every culture and ethnicity we have some embarrassing folks, and welfare brought a lot of people (black and white and other) down to worshipping that check - the worst thing for self-esteem and work ethic for those who could do much better using their head. That kind of truth makes us laugh and cry at the same time, and CR could always break us up!
I feel the same. Ain't race. I'm Mexican. But I grew up seeing ignorant people. Even have kin in that category. BJ, just head your comment on the same.
It feels like he somehow goes all the way there without handing rhetorical ammunition to people with white supremacist tendencies. The man is a wordsmith.
